Ph.D. Degree courses Rs.260/- (Both Application + Registration forms) in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of “the Registrar, Thiruvalluvar University” Payable at Vellore. Candidates who require the application through post should include an additional amount of Rs.50/- towards postage in addition to the cost of application (i.e. M.A., M.Sc., M.Phil., Course Rs.250/- (Rs.150/- for SC / ST candidate) and Ph.D. Course Rs.310/-)
In the case of M.Phil. courses in the affiliated colleges, the filled in applications should be sent directly to the Principal of the College concerned and not to The Registrar Thiruvalluvar University. In the case of M.Phil. courses in the university departments, filled – in – applications should be sent directly to the Head of the Department concerned.

Candidates who wish to apply for M.Phil. / Ph.D. courses in the University departments of Colleges / University concerned where the candidate possess to undergo the M.Phil / Ph.D. Courses, for getting acceptance of the research supervisor.

Admission will be made on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying examinations and marks secured in the entrance test. Candidates should take the Entrance Test conducted by the affiliated College / University Departments where the candidate proposes to undergo M.A., M.Sc. / M.Phil. / Ph.D. courses

Candidates willing to apply for more than one course/stream should apply separately. Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected. Rights of cancellation or selection/admission lie with the Admission Committee of the Institute concerned. The Vidyapeetha, established in 1961 and declared as a University in 1987 u/s. 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 is fully funded by the U.G.C.
Applications are invited for admission into the various courses of Vidyapeetha during the academic year 2008-2009. Prescribed application forms along with prospectus can be obtained from the Vidyapeetha by hand on payment of Rs.100/- and by post on payment of Rs.150/- by way of D.D. drawn in favour of the Registrar from any nationalised Bank payable at Tirupati or by downloading from the sites http://rsvidyapeetha.ac.in ; The downloaded filled in applications should be submitted along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 100/- drawn in favour of Registrar, R.S.Vidyapeetha, Tirupati. The last date to receive the filled in applications is 15-06-2008 for all courses. For Kasmiri migrants, the last date for receipt of filled in applications is 25-06-2008. 2. SASTRI (Eq.to B.A. with Computer Applications/Science)
Duration : 3 years ;
Age : 17 years minimum.
Eligibility: Pass in Prak-Sastri/ Upa-Sastri/ Madhyama/ Uttara Madhyama/ Sahitya/ Intermediate or equivalent with Sanskrit.

3. SASTRI (Eq. to B.A.) Vedabhashyam;
Duration : 3 years.
Age : 17 years minimum.
Eligibility: Those who have completed Samhita Brahmana, Aruna and Kathaka and having knowledge of Sanskrit are eligible subject to passing of Entrance Test conducted by Vidyapeetha.

4. B.A.(I Elect. Sanskrit compulsory with Computer Applications) ;
Duration : 3 years; Age 17 years minimum.
Eligibility: As specified for the Sastri course above.


POST-GRADUATE COURSES
1. ACHARYA : (Eq.to M.A. in 14 shastras);
Duration 2 years;
Age : 20 years minimum.
Eligibility : Pass in Sastri/any graduate course with Sanskrit as Main Subject/Language or any equivalent examination.
Subjects offered : Sahitya [UGC Special Assistance Programme]/Vyakarana/Jyotisha (Phalita, Sidhanta)/ Nyaya/ Mimamsa/ Advaita Vedanta/ Visishtadvaita Vedanta/ DvaitaVedanta/ Vedabhashya/ Agama/ Sankhya Yoga/ Dharmasastra/Puranetihasa. If the applications are more than 60 for Acharya in Sahitya there will be an entrance test and those who pass the entrance test will be called for interview.

2. M.A. in Sanskrit (Sabdabodha Systems and Language Technology)
This programme is offered under the UGC's innovative programme.
Eligibility: Pass in Sastri/equivalent traditional Degree with Computer Science / Computer Applications or any graduate with Sanskrit and Computer Science/Applications from any recognized university.
Duration: 2 years
Age: 20 years minimum.

3. P.G. Diploma in Yoga Therapy and Stress Management :
This course has been introduced under the Innovative programme sanctioned by UGC. Duration : 1½ year (including 6 months Internship); Eligibility : Any graduate with second class.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE:
For MBA & MCA Programmes selection will be made based on the marks obtained in the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) conducted by the Anna University on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu, following the Community-wise reservation as stipulated by the Government.

The candidate for other states except SC/ST candidates, will be considered under General Turn.

Therefore, the candidates (including other State candidates) who aspire for admission in the University of Madras, shall appear for the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) to be conducted on 17.05.2008.

Those who are appearing for University Final Year Examinations in April/May 2008, may also apply for TANCET 2008 and for admission to the MBA & MCA programmes in the University departments 15% supernumerary seats are available for MBA (Regular) and MCA programme for the Foreign National/NRI having a foreign passport and valid VISA, without Entrance Examination.
15% supernumerary seats are available for MBA Self-supportive for sponsored candidates. The sponsored candidates also must appear for TANCET. Candidates applying for self-supportive MBA programme should not undertake employment during the course.

DATE OF ENTRNCE EXAMINATION FOR M.PHIL & P.G. PROGRAMMES:
Those who appearing for University final year examination in April/May 2008 may also apply for all the programmes. The Entrance Examination will be held form 2nd June 2008 onwards. The Heads of the Department concerned will issue Hall-tickets indicating the place, date and time for Entrance Examination. Such of those candidates who have not received Hall-tickets intimate due to Postal delay etc. have to contact the Head of the department concerned for getting necessary permission to take Entrance examination.

ISSUE OF APPLICATIONS IN PERSON:
Application and Academic Prospectus can be had in person at the information center, University of Madras Chennai-600005 on payment of Rs.200/- (Rs.100/- for SC/ST candidates on production of Xerox copy of the community certificate) by cash for all the programmes.

ISSUE OF APPLICATIONS BY POST:
Those who want to obtain application and the Prospectus by Post have to send a written requisition specifying the name of the Programme together with a Demand Draft for a sum of Rs.250/- (Rs.200/0 towards cost of Application and Rs.50/- towards postage) drawn in favour of “The Registrar, University of Madras Chennai-5” for admission to all the programmes.

Application can also be downloaded form the University website at www.unom.ac.in. However, the cost of application for Rs.200/- by means of Demand Draft shall be enclosed, failing which the application will be summarily rejected.

National Institute for the Mentally Handicapped (NIMH) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India which was established in the year 1984 at Secunderabad. The primary objective of NIMH is to develop models of care and rehabilitation in the area of mental retardation and promote human resource development incidental to the activities of the Institute.

NIMH invites applications for admission to the following courses for the academic year 2008- 09.

2. Post Graduate Diploma in Early Intervention (PGDEI): MBBS, BMR/BRS(MR)/ B.Ed in Spl. Edn/ Masters in Child Development/ Bachelor in Occupational Therapy/ Bachelor in Physio-therapy/Bachelor in Speech therapy/ Masters in Child Psy. with 50% Gen. and 40% SC/ST category. EntranceExam on 01-06-08 (Gen:9, SC: 2, ST: 1)
3. M.Ed Spl. Edn. (MR): B.Ed Spl. Education (MR) or B.Ed (General) with one year Diploma in Spl. Edn MR) recognized by RCI or (BRS (MR) with specialization in Special Education with 50% Gen./PH and 40% SC/ST category. EntranceExam on 01-06-08 (Gen:19, SC: 3, ST: 2,PH: 1)
4. M.Phil in Rehabilitation Psychology: P.G. Degree in Psychology from a recognized University with 55% in the case of General Category and 50% of pass in the case of SC/ST category. Entrance Exam on 02-06-08 (Gen:8, SC: 2, ST: 1,PH: 1)

B) RCI Recognised Diploma Courses:
5. Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities (1 year duration) : 10+2 or equivalent Admission through interview based on merit 16-06-08 (Gen:14, SC: 3, ST: 2,PH: 1)
6. Diploma in Vocational Rehabilitation (MR) (DVR(MR)) (1 year duration): 10+2 or equivalent Admission through interview based on merit 17-06-08 (Gen:11, SC: 2, ST: 1,PH: 1)
7. Diploma in Early Child-hood Special Education(MR) (DECSE(MR)) (1 year duration) : 10+2 or equivalentwith 50% for Gen. Category and 40% for SC/ST category Admission through interview based on merit 19-06-08 (Gen:14, SC: 3, ST: 2,PH: 1)

FOR ADMISSION TO BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING (BE), BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY (B.Tech), MASTER OF COMPUTER APPLICATOINS (MCA), MASTER OF SCIENC (M.Sc), MASTER ENGINEERING (ME), MASTER OF TECHNOLOGY (M.Tech.), MASTER OF PHILOSOPHY (M.Phil.) AND DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (Ph.D) PROGRAMMES FOR THE SESSION 2008-2009:

This 50 years old Deemed University is a premier institution of higher education and is accredited for all its programme by NBA (AICTE), NAAC (UGC) and is also ISO 9001/2000 certified. It has all specializations at UG, PG and Doctoral level and is duly recognized by Central Agencies i.e. UGC, AICTE, DST, DBT etc for funding the research projects.

BE/B.Tech Programme (First year on the basis of AIEEE-2008)
Admissions to BE/B.Tech programmes shall be made on the basis of merit in All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE-2008) to be conducted by CBSE, New Delhi on April 27, 2008. In addition, minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST) in aggregate of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/Computer Science at 10+2 or equivalent are required to be eligible for admission.
50% of the sanctioned intake of B.E/B.Tech. programme are reserved for the candidates who have passed (or appearing) their +2 from Institutes located outside Punjab.

The candidates desirous of seeking admission in this University have to submit a separate application to this University on prescribed application form appended in the Prospectus of the University.

BE/B.Tech Programme (Second year through LEET-TU)
Admission to the 2nd Year of BE/B.Tech. programme shall be made on the basis of the Entrance Test (LEET-TU) to be conducted by the University at Patiala and Delhi on June 21, 2008.
50% of the seats are reserved for the candidates who have passed (or appearing) their 3 year diploma/ 2 year diploma after 10+2 from Boards/ Universities located outside Punjab.

MCA / MSc (Biotechnology) Programme
Admissions to MCA/MSc (Biotechnology) programme shall be made on the basis of merit in the Entrance Test to be conducted by TU, Patiala at Delhi and Patiala. Candidates are required to send completely filled up form appended with the University Prospectus. The counseling for admission will be held at TU on July 14, 2008.

M.Sc (Phy)/M.Sc.(Chem) / M.Sc. (Maths & Computing)
Admission will be made on the merit of the entrance test to be conducted by TU at Patiala on June 22, 2008 (Sunday).

ME/M.Tech./Ph.D
Admissions to ME/M.Tech programmes in the following disciplines will be made and preference will be given to GATE qualified candidates. For Non-GATE qualified and part-time candidates. TU will conduct its own Entrance Examination at Patiala on July 3, 2008. The interview for GATE qualified, Non-GATE qualified and part-time candidates will be conducted July 4, 2008.
