Submission of the application form for entrance test / admission by post or in person along with Photographs and other enclosures on or before 10.06.2011 at 5.00 pm. 2. Selection will be made on the merit based on marks secured in Qualifying examinations (PUC II / 10+2 / HSC or equivalent) in relevant subjects conducted by various Board / Universities and JSSU entrance examination. 3. The entrance test will be followed by counseling and admissions on 25.06.2011.The counseling process will be announced on the website www.jssuni.edu.in. 5. The Exam Center will be at MYSORE center only. 6. Admission of selected students to courses and colleges allotted during counseling session. The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject. 2) The General Merit Candidate should have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English individually and must have obtained at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together and should have also passed in English language in the qualifying examinations i.e. PUC II / 10+2 / HSC or equivalent. As per the Dental Council of India (DCI) norms the candidates must have passed these subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks taken together in PCB, Further must secure not less than 50% marks in PCB in the Common Entrance Test (JSS University Entrance Test - 2011.) 3) The SC, ST , OBC and CAT – I Candidate of Karnataka should have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English individually and must have obtained at least 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together and should have also passed in English language in the qualifying examinations i.e. PUC II / 10+2 / HSC or equivalent. Eligibility :

Selection Process:

Amrita Entrance Examination (Medical) 2011, for admission to MBBS, BDS and BAMS (Ayurveda) courses under the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, will be held from 10 am to 12.30 pm on 22nd May 2011 (Sunday) at Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Kozhikode, Kochi, Amritapuri (Kollam) and Thiruvananthapuram and also at California, U.S.A.

Amrita Entrance Exam will be of objective type with approximately 25 questions from Physics, 35 from Chemistry, 70 from Biology/Biotechnology, 10 from English and 10 from General Knowledge. The syllabus for Amrita Entrance Examination will be as per the 10 + 2 examination (CBSE). Each correct response will be awarded three marks and for each incorrect response one mark will be deducted from the total score.

Applicant should have attained at least 17 years of age as on 31st December 2011, but should not have crossed the age of 23 years as on that date. Applicant must have passed plus two or equivalent Examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology /Biotechnology and English. They should have passed in these subjects individually and should have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in English and 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology taken together, from any State Higher Secondary Board or equivalent (Biotechnology subject will be considered only for MBBS). For SC/ST Candidates, minimum marks required in plus two is 50% and 40% in the Amrita Entrance Examination.

Applicant must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination/equivalent in first attempt (Exemptions may be considered only on medical grounds and the decision of the Chairman-Admissions will be final and binding). The last two years of such study should include Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English (Biotechnology subject will be considered only for MBBS). National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is a compulsory test for students seeking admission to National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS), Mumbai. Both NISER and UM-DAE CBS have been started by Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India in 2007. Their mandate is to train scientific manpower for carrying out cutting edge scientific research and for providing input to scientific programmes of Department of Atomic Energy and other applied science institutions in the country.
