Group A: For MD (Psychiatry) and D.P.M.:- Selected candidates may be considered for Residency Scheme as applicable to the Central Government Institutions. Selection procedures
For M.D. and D.P.M. course
The selection will depend upon marks obtained in the entrance examination. The entrance test will be of MCQ type consisting of 100 questions to be answered in 60 minutes. There will be 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer. The test will have questions of MBBS standard in the following approximate distribution:
20% from Psychiatry and allied behavioural sciences
15% from Neurology
30% from General Medicine
35% from rest of Medical subjects.

For Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, M.Phil in Medical & Social Psychology, M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work also the entrance test will be of MCQ type consisting of 100 questions to be answered in 60 minutes, The test will have questions of M.A./M.Sc. standard. There will be 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer.

For Diploma in Psychiatric nursing course there shall not be a written entrance examination. However, there will be an interview for the selection of the candidates.

Candidates applying for both M.D. and D.P.M. and for both Ph.D. (Clinical Psychology) and M.Phil in Medical and Social Psychology courses starting from May 2, 2011 need to submit only one application each. They should clearly mention the names of the course applied for, in order of preference.

For MD (Psychiatry 3 Years Course) and Diploma in Psychological Medicine (PPM):- One year Rotating Internship to be completed by 15.02.2011


For MD (Post DPM. 2 Years Course), Ph.D.(Clinical Psychology, Post M.Phil 2 Years course) :- Certificate of passing DPM, M.Phil (M&SP/Clinical Psychology) on or before 31.5.2011.

For M.Phil (M&SP). M.Phil (PSW): - M.A./M.Sc. in Psychology, Sociology & Social Work and results declared on or before 15.02.2011.

For the D.P.N.:- 2 years working experience certificate as a staff nurse on or before 15.02.2011.

The candidates who do not fulfill above criteria need not apply. The number of seats in each discipline is subject to change without assigning any reason.

15%. 71/2% and 27% seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste. Scheduled Tribe and QBC candidates respectively subject to availability of such candidates. ALLAHABAD – COMBINED RESEARCH ENTRANCE TEST 2010 – ALLAHABAD UNIVERSITY


The University of Allahabad shall conduct the COMBINED RESEARCH ENTRANCE TEST-2010 (CRET- 2010) at Allahabad for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (D. Phil.) Programme of the University for the session 2010-11 in the subjects specified in SECTION 2 of this Bulletin. As laid down in the University’s Ordinance LVI, candidates for admission to the D.Phil. Programme must hold the master’s degree (or a degree recognised by the University as equivalent thereto) in a relevant subject from the University, or any other university or institution recognised by it, and must fulfill other prescribed conditions of eligibility.

Regular teachers of the University of Allahabad and of any institution maintained by it or admitted to its privileges and International Students are exempted from appearing at CRET for admission to D.Phil program. All other candidates for admission to the D.Phil. Programme in the concerned subjects are required to appear at CRET-2010 after applying and register their candidatures through the ONLINE APPLICATION AND REGISTRATION PROCESS at the website www.cretau2010.com and remitting the admissible Test Fees in the prescribed manner.

General Instructions :
The University reserves ‘the right to declare the number of eligible candidates in each subject in accordance with the relevant Ordinances and the present reservation policy of the University. However, admission to D.Phil. Programme will be finalized on the basis of the availability of seats and supervisors in the concerned Department/Centre/Institute.

The list of eligible candidates for Level.3 (Interview) by the concerned DPC shall be sent to the concerned Department/Centre/Institute. 1. This is an intensive programme of study of 2 academic sessions.
2. The programme shall be divided into four semesters. There are three taught semesters and one semester of on-the-job training. There shall be an examination at the end of each taught semester.
3. Each taught semester shall comprise of nine courses, each of three hours per week equivalent teaching obligation and equal amount of self study.
4. This programme is a whole time programme of the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management.

Eligibility : Candidates seeking admission to the PGDM programme shall be required to possess a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 50 % marks in aggregate of a University or equivalent thereto (45 % for SC/ST/PH).

Admission Procedure : Admission to the programme shall be through an admission process of 100 points. A weight of 70% shall be for the performance in a centralised All India Admission Test. Another 15% points each are for Personal Interview (PI) and Group Discussion (GD) respectively. Merit for admission to the programme shall be determined by the institute.

Seats and Reservation : Admission will be offered on 60 (sixty) seats in each batch. There will be reservation for SC/ST/PH candidates as per rules of the institute/ Government of India.
