Two full-time PhD scholarships
Two full-time PhD scholarships are currently available in the Department of Philosophy at Macquarie University. Successful candidates will work in multi-disciplinary environment in conjunction with the Institute of Human Cognition and Brain Behavior.
These Macquarie University Research Excellence (MQRES) scholarships are available to support candidates working with Professor Jeanette Kennett in moral psychology. Current areas of research include moral cognition, moral agency, responsibility, and the impact of cognitive neuropsychology on our understanding of these and of conditions which may affect them. Projects may be purely theoretical or may include an empirical component.
The scholarship pays a living allowance to assist with living expenses, currently $20427 per-annum, tax exempt (2009 rate), and the tenure is a maximum 3.5 years full-time, subject to satisfactory progress.
Tuition fees will be funded for the tenure of the scholarship. Additional support for projects and conference travel will also be available from the faculty.
Requirements: This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent, or Masters or equivalent. MQRES scholarships are available to domestic or international students. Applicants should have equivalent research qualifications to an Australian undergraduate degree with first class honours (such as a Masters degree with a substantial thesis component) in a relevant discipline as defined in the project description.
