PDPU offers admission
to Ph.D programme for the candidates with brilliant academic record and
research potential in various fields of Engineering, Science and Technology,
Management, Public Policy, English Language and Literature, Social Sciences,
Public Administration
Eligibility
A student seeking an admission to Ph.D. Programme of the University is required to have minimum educational qualification as mentioned hereunder:
For research in an area of Engg./Technology/Sciences
(i) Master Degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent in an appropriate area with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks.
OR
(ii) Master Degree in Science or equivalent in an appropriate area with first class or a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks, where class is not awarded.
For research in an area of Management
(a) M.B.A./M.Tech./M.E. with at least 60 percent marks or equivalent, or
(b) A professional qualification like A.C.A, A.I.C.W.A., A.C.S. with at least 60 percent marks or equivalent.
For research in an area related to Liberal Studies i.e.English Language & Literature, Public Administration and Public Policy
M. A. with minimum 55% or its equivalent in an appropriate area
Selection procedure:
A discipline wise (e.g. Civil Engg./Management) written Aptitude Test will be conducted on 4 August 2012 in SPT-1 building of the University campus from 9-30 a.m. to 11-30 a.m..This will be followed by Personal Interview on the same day from 12 noon onward. The list of the selected candidates will be announced on the website 8 August 2012.
Fees : Rs.45,000/- per semester (except Hostel, Mess, Transportation and alike)
The second semester fees shall be collected in installment of Rs.7500/- per month during the first semester from the financial assistance given to the students if any by the University; the collection of the third and fourth semester fees shall be collected in the same pattern.
Library Deposit Rs.5000/-
Caution Money Deposit Rs.10,000/-
Financial Assistance for the Full Time candidates:
Up to first two years :
Rs.12,000/- per month as Research Fellowship
Rs.08,000/- per month as Teaching Assistantship
In the third year:
Rs.14,500/- per month as Fellowship
Rs.08,000/- per month as Teaching Assistantship
After third year, the financial assistance may continue subject to the scrutiny by the Doctoral Committee, but not beyond the fourth year.
No other Financial Assistance/Aid will be given to the students.

Financial Assistance: The candidates admitted on full time basis
would be offered financial assistance by way of research fellowship and
teaching assistantship
