X 27 cm) affixed with postage stamps worth Rs.40/- only. The application form, details of the courses, eligibility criteria and relevant information may also be downloaded from the University website. In that case, the application form duly completed along with crossed Demand Draft of Rs.200/- for general/unreserved and OBC candidates and Rs.70/- for the SC and ST candidates and necessary documents may be sent to the Principal of the Institute concerned. However, an application in prescribed form of the University shall have to be submitted to the authority, if asked for. Application form completed in all respects should reach the Principal of the Institute concerned within June 30, 2008.
Candidates willing to apply for more than one course/stream should apply separately. Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected. Rights of cancellation or selection/admission lie with the Admission Committee of the Institute concerned. The University reserves the right to limit the number of eligible applicants to be called for admission test.
Admission kits will be issued from the designated branches of UBI from: June 04, 2008 to June 30, 2008.

ADMISSION ANNOUNCEMENT 2008 –2009.
The University of Hyderabd was established by an Act of Parliament in 1974 and emerged as a premier center of higher learning with outstanding student output and faculty who have to their credit notable accomplishments. The University offers facilities for post-graduate and research studies in major disciplines in sciences (including Medical Sciences, Engineering Sciences and Technology), humanities, social sciences, performing arts, fine arts, communication and management studies. Admissions are made on all-India basis in order of merit in the entrance examination. The University offers fellowships to al the students admitted to any of its regular programs of study.
The entrance examinations for admission to various courses during 2008-2009 will be held form 1st to 7th June, 2008 at Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabd, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Patna, Pune, Tirupati, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. The University reserves the right to cancel any of the examination centers and allot another nearer center for applicants of the center cancelled.

General Information:
Detailed information regarding entrance examinations and qualifications for admissions etc. are given in the Prospectus-cum-Application Form 2008-2009.
Candidates who are appearing in the final examination of the qualifying degree and expecting their results and certificates before 31st July 2008 are also eligible to apply.
Reservation of seats:
In each course, 15% and 7.5% of the seats are reserved for SC and ST candidates respectively with a provision for inter-changeability wherever necessary 3% of the seats are reserved for Physically challenged candidates. Relaxation in the prescribed percentage of marks in the qualifying degree/other examination is also provided for these categories. For further details, refer to the Prospectus-cum-Application Form 2008-2009.
How to Apply:
Prospectus-cum-Application Forms can be obtained in person from 04.04.2008 to 03.05.2008 from the Academic Section, Office of the Controller of Examinations Administration Building on the University Campus, Hyderabd-500046 or from “The Golden Threshold (GT) premises of the University, Nampally Station Road, Hyderabd 500001”, against cash payment.
The Prospectus-cum-Application forms can also be obtained by ordinary post upto 27.04.2008 from the Dy. Registrar (Acad & Exams), University of Hyderabd, P.O. Central University, Hyderabad-500046 by sending (a) a requisition, (b) one self-addressed adhesive sticker/skip, and (c) a crossed demand draft for the amount specified for the respective category i.e., Rs.300/- - in the case of General Category and Rs.50/- in the case of SC/ST/PH categories for each copy of prospectus-cum-application form together with Rs.50/- towards the ordinary postal charges drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Hyderabd, on State Bank of India, Hyderabd Central University Campus Branch, Hyderabad (Code 5916) or on Andhra Bank, Nampally Branch, Hyderabad (Code 378). The Prospectus-cum-Application Form can also be downloaded form the University’s website (available from 04.04.2008 to 03.05.2008) and duly filled in such applications can be sent enclosing there with a bank draft of Rs.150/- for each course in the case of General Category and Rs.50/- for each course in the case of SC/ST/PH categories.
1. Prospectus-cum-Application Forms meant for reserved categories (SC/ST/PH) should not be used by the General Category candidates.
2. The cost of Prospectus-cum-Application form for SC/ST/PH does not include entrance examination/registration fee as they are exempted form payment of entrance examination fee.
3. The cost of the Prospectus-cum-Application form for SC/ST/PH does not include entrance examination/registration fee as they are exempted from payment of entrance examination/ registration fee.
4. A separate application is required for each course, except for MFA (Painting/Print Making/ Sculpture); M.Sc. (3) MBA (4 Semesters): Candidates are selected for admission from among the CAT qualified candidates after hold Group Discussion/Interview by the University. Selection for the admissions for the academic year 2008-2009 have been completed. Applicants who want to be considered for admission during the academic year 2009-2010 should appear for the CAT 2008 and apply to the university separately as per the University’s advertisement press release in August/September 2008.
(4) M.Sc. Biotechnology: The admissions for the M.Sc. Biotechnology programme during the year 2008-2009 will be based on the allotment made by the JNU, New Delhi which will conduct a common entrance test on 18.05.2008.
