DOWNLOAD INFORMATIONDOWNLOAD BROCHUREDOWNLOAD APPLICATION FORMThe Jaypee Group with its strong involvement in the areas of Hydro Power Projects, Cement Manufacturing and Infrastructure Development is establishing a Cement Research Development Centre (CRDC) for Research Development and Manpower Training in the JIET campus at Guna (MP) which has facilities in Civil and Chemical Engineering teaching and research. The Centre will be looking at various aspects relating to cement and building materials manufacture and use in entire life cycle. Dr. A.K. Mullick (former DG - NCCBM), a renowned expert in the area of C oncrete Technology is working as a visiting professor with the institute. Dr. K. Mohan (former DG - NCCBM) is well known figure in the field of Cement Technology and associated as Sr.V.P.( Research & Development ) with Jaypee group and establishing the said Centre.Cement is the basic material of construction for diverse applications like housing, roads, bridges, dams, ports & harbours, industrial structures and power plants etc. With an installed capacity of more than 1 70 million tonnes, Indian Cement Industry is the second largest in the world and is growing at 8% per annum to cater to ambitious infrastructure developmental projects in the country.The Diploma program emphasizes on strong conceptual understanding and practical skills in the area of Cement Technology and is aimed at preparing students to fulfil the growing need of specialized shop floor engineering su pervisors in the cement industry. Industry internship during the 5 th semester is an integral part of the academic program leading to overall development of the student through exposure to actual operations in a Cement plant. Efforts are made to associate Cement industry personnel in the evaluation of performance of students during the in -plant training.Guest faculty will be invited from the Cement Industry as well as from the NCCBM.All aspects of manufacture of cement like raw materials and mining; grinding, blending and homogenization; raw mix design and chemistry of cement; refractory practices; pyro-processing in the kiln, finish grinding and packing of cement; performance requirements in construction etc. will be covered during the 3 -year, 6-semester program. Special emphasis will be given to topics on energy conservation, environmental issues, instrumentation & process control, maintenance & troubleshooting and quality control.ELIGIBILITYPass in class 10 or equivalent with 60% marks in Science & Maths only; not before 2006 or likely to qualify in 2008. Merit based admission process.COURSE CAPACITYThe tentative number of seats for academic session 2008 -09 will be 30. The number may change depending on the academic profiles of the candidates.Selection ProcessThe admission will be purely on merit. Selected candidates will be offered provisional admission subject to production of certificates with proof of qualification / eligibility conditions.
