B.Sc.(Agri.) Admission for the Academic year 2008-2009

Applications are invited for admission to B.Sc.(Agri.) Course for the year 2008-2009 in Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru College of Agriculture & Research Institute, Karaikal-609 603.

I. ADMISSION (Total seats 60)*
a) 51 seats (85%) are reserved for Puducherry UT candidates.* (OC, OBC, MBC allotment as per norms)
b) 9 seats (15%) are reserved for other states / Other U.Ts.*

For both a & b SC/ST quota is as per norms.

II. APPLICATION FORM
Application forms can be obtained in person from the Dean, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru College of Agriculture & Research Institute, Nedungadu (Po.), Karaikal-609 603. The cost of application form is Rs.100/- (By Speed post=Rs.100+65) and for SC/ST Rs.50/- (By Speed post=Rs.50+65). The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of the Dean, PAJANCOA&RI, Karaikal from any Nationalised Bank, payable at Karaikal (cash to be paid directly to cash counter) dated after 13.06.2008. Cheques, Postal order and Money Orders will not be accepted. For applications by post a request letter along with self-addressed cover of size 34 x 28cm should accompany.

The application can also be downloaded from website www.pajancoa.ac.in Application Form The filled in downloaded application in A4 size sheet should be attached with necessary application fee of Rs.100/- (Rs.50/- for SC/ST) as Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Dean, PAJANCOA&RI, Karaikal from any Nationalised Bank payable at Karaikal.

III. ELIGIBILITY
a) A pass in Higher Secondary (Academic / Vocational) or equivalent examination with minimum marks as indicated below:
Academic : 50% in aggregate and a mere pass for SC/ST candidates

Vocational: Biology/Chemistry/Economics, Vocational Agricultural Subject – Theory & Practical with 50% in aggregate (a mere pass for SC/ST candidates)

b) Age
Candidates should not have completed the age of 21 years as on 1st July, 2008.
The upper age limit for disabled candidates is relaxed by 5 years.

c) Other State/UTs candidates:
Candidates from other states/UTs seeking admission to B.Sc.(Agri) degree course offered by PAJANCOA&RI have to apply with marks obtained in All India Competitive Examination for admission to Undergraduate programmes in Agriculture and allied Sciences for the Academic session 2008-09 (AIEEA 2008) conducted by Indian Council of Agriculture Research, New Delhi and at the same time the candidates must satisfy the prescribed qualification as above. They shall submit application for B.Sc.(Ag.) course with AIEEA 2008 marks.
