Post Graduate Diploma in Management
Beginning 2010, TAPMI will offer three new 2-year Post Graduate Diploma programmes*, in addition to its existing two year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). The three new programmes are:
. PGDM – Banking and Financial Services
. PGDM – International Business
. PGDM – Health Care Management.
All the programmes are fully residential. Owing to this, the intake of students is expected to increase to 360 in 2010.
TAPMI’s PGDM programme has evolved through a continuous interaction of the institute with the industry and academia, and thus enjoys a high degree of relevance and appropriateness in the current context of globalization and competition. TAPMI emphasizes on practice and experiential learning and its faculty is a mixture of academic excellence and industry practice, with about 70% having doctoral qualifications.
Eligibility: A three-year (10+2+3) University Degree in any discipline, recognised by the AIU as eligible for Post Graduation, with not less than 50% overall aggregate marks. This applies to also those with professional qualifications like Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accounting and Company Secretary. Candidates appearing for final year degree examination may also apply. However such candidates, if selected by TAPMI, are required to produce proof of completion of graduation by the time they join the PGP program and their passing certificates and testimonials within the stipulated date thereafter.
Admission Procedure: TAPMI has adopted a two stage process for admitting candidates to the PGP. Valid CAT/ GMAT scores are mandatory pre-requisites to qualify for the admission process. Scores of GMAT 2008/2009/2010 are accepted in addition to CAT 2009. Based on scores in CAT/GMAT and academic excellence, work experience, extra-curriculars and clarity of purpose, candidates are short-listed and invited to participate in the subsequent TAPMI Admissions Process (GD/PI) to be held at Bangalore, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Kolkata and Manipal. CAT is used only for short-listing. IIMs have no role in the selection process or conduct of the PGDM programme. Final Selection will be based on performance in the TAPMI Admissions Process.
Fee Details: The current Academic Fee payable by admitted students for the 2-year PGDM programmes is Rs. 7,15,000/- inclusive of course material and academic resources. Hostel Fee is approximately Rs. 1,39,000/- for the two-year period. Monthly food bill is approximately Rs. 2,400/- per month.
