ELIGIBILITY

Who Can Apply:
Candidates should have a bachelor degree under 10+2+3 pattern/ a degree in Agriculture, Technology, Medicine, Education or law/ a post graduate degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from any University/Institution recognized by AIU/AICTE. For SC/ST candidates, 45% marks is required. (Candidates should also fulfill the minimum eligibility requirements for appearing in CAT 2009)

Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination can also apply provided they furnish the proof of having met the minimum eligibility criteria by October 05, 2010 after completing all the requirements for obtaining the qualifying degree before June 30, 2009.

HOW TO APPLY:
Step 1: Candidates seeking admission to FMS-BHU will be required to purchase CAT 2009 (conducted by IIMs). For detailed information about CAT 2009, please visit www.catiim.in Selection will be made strictly on the basis of the combined Merit acquired by a Candidate in CAT 2009 of IIM, Group Discussion and Interview conducted by FMS, BHU.

The FMS, BHU uses CAT for short-listing the candidates for its two-year full time Post-Graduate Programmes in Management. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.

Step 2: Candidates are also required to register at FMS, BHU through separate application form which has to be obtained from Faculty of Management Studies, BHU, Varanasi from September 10, 2009 either in person against crossed SBI Bank Draft (MICR) /Banker's Cheque of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 650/- for SC/ST) till November 24, 2009 OR by post through a requisition along with Crossed SBI Bank Draft (MICR) of Rs. 1050/- (Rs. 700/- for SC/ST) and self-addressed envelope of 32x26 cm. till November 5, 2009 OR may be downloaded from the web site of BHU (www.bhu.ac.in). The downloaded application form must be submitted along with demand draft of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 650/- for SC/ST Category). The Bank Draft/Banker's Cheque should be drawn in favour of the Registrar, Banaras Hindu University payable at SBI, BHU Main Branch (Code 0211). Completed application form be submitted to "The Dean, Faculty of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi – 221005" on or before November 25, 2009.

M.Phil. in Psychiatric Social Work: Master's degree in Social Work

M.Sc. in Psychiatric Nursing: One year experience as Registered Nurse with B.Sc./ B.Sc. (Hons)/ PC B.Sc. Nursing in Hospital, Nursing Education Institution or Community Health setting

Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing (DPN) & Diploma in Neurological and Neurosurgical Nursing (DNN): Should possess 'A' Grade Certificate in General Nursing recognized by Indian Nursing council., should be a registered Nurse in the State Nursing Council with two years experience.

Common for all Courses:
The qualifying degrees for all the above mentioned courses should be from a recognized University. For Medical qualification the degree should be recognized by the Medical Council of India.
The Candidates should have obtained not less than 55% of Marks in the aggregate of the
Master's degree for non-medical courses.

A relaxation of 5% on the aggregate of marks obtained will be given for nonmedical and Ph.D. courses in respect of SC/ST candidates.

D) GUIDELINES:
For Medical Courses, date of completion of Internship/Compulsory rotatory job must be as on the date of Commencement of courses, i.e., 2nd May 2010 (proof of completion from compentent authority to be produced at the time of joining, failing which admission will be cancelled). For Non-Medical courses, candidates should bring the results of their qualifying examination as on the date of Entrance Test i.e., 28th February
2010.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Application forms for all the courses are available online at the NIMHANS website www.nimhans.kar.nic.in The applications have to be filled online and submitted online. Printout of the Application Abstract with the latest passport size photograph affixed (in the column provided) along with the Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Director, NIMHANS, Bangalore -560 029 and relevant enclosures should be sent to the Director, NIMHANS, Hosur Road, Bangalore - 560 029 by superscribing the name of the course(s) applied for, on the Envolope without fail.

2.A candidate can apply for a maximum of 4 courses only (Medical & Non-Medical inclusive) provided they are eligible.

The Application fee for both Medical & Non-Medical courses is Rs.1000/- per course for General candidates and Rs.750/- per course for SC/ST candidates Foreign Nationals are required to submit their applications through the Diplomatic Channel (through the Ministry of External Affairs). They shall also appear for the common Entrance Test along with the other candidates. Sponsored candidates should submit their application through proper channel and they should also appear for the Common Entrance Test. The candidates should produce the sponsorship certificate in the prescribed format.

AGE LIMIT:
For MD & DPM Courses the age should not be more than 32 years and, relaxable in case of SC/ST Candidates by a maximum of 5 years as on 2.5.2010. For sponsored candidates age should not be more than 45 years as on 2.5.2010

The Demand Draft or application of the rejected candidates will not be returned at any cost. No communication will be given against the rejected applications. No interim enquiry or correspondence will be entertained. Candidates called for Entrance Test and Counseling must be present at the venue within the stipulated time failing which they will not be considered for Entrance Test or Counseling at any cost.


Eligible candidates can take printout of their Hall-Ticket for the Entrance Test from NIMHANS website only. Hall-Tickets will not be sent by post. The students may be drawn from those with qualifications from any of the streams listed Below:
• Master's degree or equivalent in relevant disciplines like humanities, social sciences, pure sciences and Commerce, from a recognized university/ deemed university/ institution recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
• Post-graduate Diploma in Business Administration, considered equivalent to MBA by AIU.
Minimum Marks required:
60% marks or equivalent CGPA at PG level.

Work Experience:
At least 5 years full time work experience in executive or supervisory capacity after obtaining Master's Degree.
Engineering students with 65% marks or equivalent CGPA at degree level with 5 years work experience in Academic/Academic Institution/ Research/ Corporate.
Teaching Assistantship of Rs. 25000/- will be available to students for period of 4 years, in addition there would an academic fee waiver. Research grants of Rs. 10,000/- per annum for Ph.D. Research.

Eligibility Criteria for Part Time MBA
Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from recognized University OR Equivalent pattern recognized by the UGC & AIU. Three Years Post qualification work experience in Supervisory / Executive Cadre as on 31st December 2009 is essential.
Eligibility Criteria for EPGDBM(Bangalore Campus)
Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from recognized University OR Equivalent pattern recognized by the UGC & AIU with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate. Five Years Post qualification work experience in Supervisory / Executive Cadre as on 31st December 2009 is essential.

Following criteria is common for all programme.
* The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate from any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
* The Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. The percentage obtained by the candidate in the bachelor's degree would be based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree.
* In case of the candidates being awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the university/institution from where they have obtained bachelor's degree. In case the university/institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by NMIMS by dividing obtained CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100.
* Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply. But their admission will be subject to their fulfilling the eligibility norms as mentioned above.

• Post-graduate Diploma in Business Administration, considered equivalent to MBA by AIU.
B. Minimum Marks required:
60% marks or equivalent CGPA at PG level.

C. Work Experience:
At least 5 years full time work experience in executive or supervisory capacity after obtaining Master’s Degree.
D. Engineering students with 65% marks or equivalent CGPA at degree level with 5 years work experience in Academic/Academic Institution/ Research/ Corporate.

Teaching Assistantship of Rs. 25000/- will be available to students for period of 4 years, in addition there would an academic fee waiver. Research grants of Rs. 10,000/- per annum for Ph.D. Research.

Eligibility Criteria for Part Time MBA
Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from recognized University OR Equivalent pattern recognized by the UGC & AIU. Three Years Post qualification work experience in Supervisory / Executive Cadre as on 31st December 2009 is essential.

Eligibility Criteria for EPGDBM(Bangalore Campus)
Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline from recognized University OR Equivalent pattern recognized by the UGC & AIU with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate. Five Years Post qualification work experience in Supervisory / Executive Cadre as on 31st December 2009 is essential.

Following criteria is common for all programme.
a) The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate from any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
b) The Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. The percentage obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree.
c) In case of the candidates being awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the university/institution from where they have obtained bachelor’s degree. In case the university/institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by NMIMS by dividing obtained CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100.
d) Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply. But their admission will be subject to their fulfilling the eligibility norms as mentioned above.

CDS invites applications for admission to its full-time residential programme, leading to PhD in Economics of the Jawaharlal Nehru University or the University of Kerala.

The Programme has a strong orientation towards Development Studies with a core economics component and encourages cross-disciplinary inputs. Core areas of research at CDS and the current themes of PhD studies are listed elsewhere.

Eligibility

Master’s with ≥ 55% marks and MPhil with FGPA of at least 6.0 (high second class) in Economics or related disciplines in Development Studies.

Ÿ Those awaiting award of the MPhil Degree can also apply.

Ÿ SC,ST & PH candidates eligible irrespective of percentage of marks.

Ÿ Those who do not have an MPhil may be considered in exceptional cases of merit, if having at least two years’ research experience in a University/Research Institution and research publications in refereed academic journals.

Ÿ Foreign nationals and those who have undergone the qualifying Programmes abroad will be eligible subject to clarification on equivalence of their Degrees by the University.

Financial Assistance

All the selected candidates will be offered Fellowships, available under various schemes.
Ÿ ICSSR Institutional Doctoral Fellowships Six: presently @ Rs. 6,000 per month for those who have cleared NET for lectureship and @ Rs. 5,000 for those who have not cleared the NET. The Fellowships carry an annual contingency Grant of Rs. 12,000 and have a tenure 3 Years. ICSSR is considering revision of the tenure and emoluments; pending such revision, CDS has augmented this scheme to provide stipend @ Rs. 6,000 for all and an additional fourth year. Further, ICSSR has earmarked one fellowship for University/College Teachers which will have a tenure of two years and with salary protection.

Ÿ CDS Endowment Fellowships: Two fellowships under the National Research Programme on Plantation Development, funded by the Government of India Ministry of Commerce, are available to selected scholars who plan to work on aspects of Plantation Development. These Fellowships have a maximum tenure of four years; emoluments are presently at ICSSR rates, but are likely to be revised..
Ÿ Selected scholars can avail of the UGC’s JRF and the RGNF for SC/ST candidates, if awarded such fellowships by the UGC. The schemes provide fellowship @ Rs. 12,000 for the first two years and @ Rs. 14,000 for the final three years.
Ÿ Selected scholars from SC/ST communities of Kerala can seek assistance under the Government of Kerala Fellowship Scheme which is of UGC Fellowship tenure and 75% of UGC rates.

Selection

The selection process has two phases:

First, candidates will be short–listed for Interview on the basis of their scores for Academic Record and Study Proposal

- Evaluation of the Research Proposal by a faculty panel.

- Score for the Academic Record on a weighted scheme:

(2 x % of marks for the +2 course) + (3 x % marks for Bachelor’s) + (5 x % of Marks for Master’s) + (5 x % of marks for MPhil).

Coursework grades will be reckoned for those awaiting award of MPhil Degree

Final selection will be based on a personal Interview by the Admission Committee, comprising of CDS faculty as well as an ICSSR nominee. The Committee shall base its recommendations on an assessment of the viability of the proposed study, whether it can be undertaken at CDS and the candidate’s aptitude and capability to undertake the study. Applicants are encouraged to take note of the current areas of research and research interests of the faculty at CDS.

BITS Pilani Second Semester Admissions 2010


B.E. (Hons.);B.Pharm. (Hons.);M.Sc.(Hons.) and M .Sc.(Tech.)

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani is an institution declared as Deemed to be University invites applications for admission in the second semester starting from January 2010 to the following programmes.

1. Integrated First Degree Programmes

B.E. (Hons.);
B.Pharm. (Hons.);
M.Sc.(Hons.) and

Admissions will be made purely on merit. Only Candidates who have appeared and obtained valid scores in BITSAT-2009 test conducted during May-June 2009 are eligible to apply. The merit position of the candidates for admission will be based on the score obtained by the candidate in the BITSAT-2009. Candidates should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 80% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in 12th examination. 2. Higher Degree Programmes
Duration: Normally four semesters.
Eligibility: Candidates obtaining a minimum of aggregate 60% marks in the qualifying degree examination.

(i) at BITS, Pilani- Pilani Campus:

M.E. : Chemical; Civil (with specialization in Structural Engineering/Infrastructure Systems); Communication Engineering; Computer Science; Mechanical; Software Systems.

M.Pharm Master of Public Health (MPH).

(ii) at BITS, Pilani- Hyderabad Campus:

M.Pharm.

Admissions to Higher degree Programmes are based on the performance of the candidates in the computer based online test conducted by BITS followed by interviews of shortlisted candidates. The tests will be held at Pilani, Goa & Hyderabad. The tests will have objective type questions (multiple choices) only and will be conducted during 19th - 20th December 2009. Further short listed candidates will be asked to come to Pilani/Hyderabad on 4th January 2010 for interview at their own cost and the final selection is based on the performance in the tests and interviews. Admissions to MPH are based on the performance of the candidate in a written test, Group discussion and interviews to be conducted in Pilani on4th January2010. Note: Offering of Programmes will depend upon the minimum number of suitable candidates for the particular programme.

3. Ph.D. Programme at BITS Campuses in Pilani, Goa & Hyderabad

Input Qualification: Any Higher Degree of BITS or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate in the qualifying examination.

Any applicant with qualification equivalent to integrated first degree of BITS will be first examined for suitability to one of the higher degree programmes of the Institute. Such candidates may first be admitted to the M.E./ M.Phil, programmes offered by the Institute subject to the eligibility conditions.

Industries and R&D organizations collaborating with BITS can sponsor candidates to work for the Ph.D. under the Ph.D. aspirants scheme. Under this scheme such employed professionals having long experience and proven competence are admitted and will be allowed to pursue their research work at their own locations. Employed professionals working in Industries holding any of the BITS degree may also be considered underthis scheme.

Terms & Conditions

. Cash scholarships, fee waivers for FIITJEE program & hostel fee waivers will be decided on the basis of performance in written tests. All candidates will have to perform well in all three subjects and clear individual subject cut-offs to be eligible.

. The final discretion of award of cash scholarships, fee waivers for FIITJEE program & hostel fee waivers in each case will remain with FIITJEE and this decision will be final and binding on the candidate.

. To get the cash scholarship one has to enrol in Intensive Contact Program for IIT-JEE, 2010 commencing on 17th November, 2009 (138 hrs.) OR on 22nd December, 2009 (138 hrs. / 96 hrs.).

. Total cash scholarship will be disbursed in three installments subject to minimum of 75% attendance in the program. The final discretion in each case will remain with FIITJEE and this decision will be final and binding on the candidate.

. Cash scholarships will be paid to students through a crossed cheque and shall be in favour of the student only.

6. Fee waivers for FIITJEE program & hostel fee waivers are valid for the above-mentioned select program only.

7. Hostel fee waivers are valid only for FIITJEE's associate hostels / lodging and boarding facilities made available through FIITJEE, subject to the student joining that particular hostel and availability of seats. The waiver will be given on monthly basis and only for the duration of
classroom / contact program. The hostel fee waivers will be paid directly to the hostel owner by FIITJEE. Hostel fee waivers is for accommodation only. Food, transportation & other self expenses are to be borne by the students.



8. FIITJEE Classroom Program students already enrolled for IIT-JEE, 2010 can appear in FIITJEE Talent Support Exam to find about their current level of preparation and their projected Rank in IIT-JEE, 2010. We are already committed to these students in giving our complete support at any point of their preparations. Since these students are already getting all benefits and additional inputs through our classroom programs, FIITJEE Talent Support Exam is only for giving the feedback to their preparation and no scholarships of any type will be awarded to such students. Graduate Diploma Programme in Design Admissions 2010

The National Institute of Design (NID) is internationally acclaimed as one of the foremost multi-disciplinary institutions in the field of design education and research. The Business Week, USA has listed NID as one of the top 25 European & Asian programmes in the world. The institute functions as an autonomous body under the department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. NID is recognised by the Dept. of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR) under Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, as a scientific and industrial design research organisation.



Eligibility: Admission is open to students who have passed or who will appear for qualifying examinations under the Higher Secondary (10+2), or equivalents like AISSCE/ IB/ ICSE etc. Candidates passing the Institute's admission tests/interviews will be admitted, subject to passing their qualifying examinations before they join the Institute.

Admission Procedure: Application forms along with the prospectus for the ensuing academic year will be made available on request from the second week of October on payment of Rs. 1,500/- (Rs. 750/- for reserved categories) by a Demand Draft of any nationalised bank drawn in favour of the 'National Institute of Design' payable at Ahmedabad. The incomplete application forms / not satisfying eligibility criteria will be rejected. The application form fee (Rs. 1,500 / Rs. 750) for rejected applications will not be refunded. No official communication will be made regarding rejected application forms.

Forms downloaded from NID's website www.nid.edu along with required amount of DD drawn in favour of National Institute of Design payable at Ahmedabad will also be accepted. Forms can also be obtained from select branches of Bank of India (listed below) on payment of Rs. 1,500/- towards the cost of the form plus Rs. 50/- as bank charges. Forms at concessional rates to reserved categories are available only from NID, Ahmedabad subject to the submission of relevant reserved category certificate (In case of OBC, a non-creamy layer certificate should be submitted).

Registration: Candidates selected for admission will be intimated by May 21, 2010. They are required to pay fees for the entire academic year (by Bank Draft in favour of the National Institute of Design payable at Ahmedabad) along with their letters of acceptance as well as the rules and regulations duly endorsed by individual candidate and by his/ her parent or guardian. These documents and the payment must reach the Institute by the date as indicated in the offer letter. In case the Institute does not receive the letter of acceptance and the payment as aforesaid, by the date indicated, the offer of admission will stand withdrawn and the available seat will be offered to those in the waiting list.
