Lateral Engineering Entrance Test (PULEET – 2010),Punjab University



Panjab University invites applications for Lateral Engineering Entrance Test (PULEET – 2010) for admission to 2nd Year of B.E. Courses (Session 2010-11) at Chandigarh College of Engineering Technology (CCET), Sector 26, Chandigarh and Swami Sarvanand Giri Panjab University Regional Centre, Bajwara, Hoshiarpur, on 08-08-2010 (Sunday).


Eligibility Conditions
The lateral entry from Diploma to 2nd year of 4-year B.E. degree level would be open only to 3 year Diploma holders in corresponding discipline who have completed Matriculation Examination with Physics and Mathematics. In addition, the candidate must have obtained 60% marks in the aggregate in the
Diploma course as required by AICTE. Admission would be made on the basis of merit obtained in the Entrance Examination to be conducted by the Panjab University.

M.PHIL. / Ph.D. Combined Entrance Test (MPCET 2010)

Applications are invited for admission to M.Phil. and Ph.D. in various subjects through Combined Entrance Test and interview as per provisions of UGC Regulation to the effect 2009.

Eligibility: The admission to M.Phil. course of the university shall be made through a Combined Entrance Test for M.Phil. and Ph.D. Eligibility for admission to M.Phil.: Post graduate degree in relevant subject with minimum 55% marks (relaxation of 5% for SC/ST candidates). Those appearing in their post-graduate examination of the university in year 2010 are also eligible to appear in Entrance Test, however, their candidature for admission will be considered on meeting minimum eligibility conditions. Subjects available for M.Phil. can be seen in the list of Seats available for M.Phil.
Seats Reservation: Reservation policy of the State Government shall be followed for admission.

There shall be only one paper for each subject for the entrance test. The pattern of Entrance Test shall be of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type with 100 questions of 3 marks each in a paper and having a provision of negative marking subtracting 1 mark for each wrong answer. Answers will be made on OMR sheet. The test shall be of 2 hrs duration.

The question paper shall be in both English and Hindi for subjects other than languages. In science subjects, the question paper will only be English. Merit for admission shall be drawn on the basis of available seats in a given subject and reservation for different categories. Number of seats in each subject in the colleges/university shall be stated in the notification for admission test. Preference for college offering such course will be asked from the candidates right at the time of filling the test form.

Application Form: To be down loaded along with Option Form and Admit Card from the university website. To be submitted to the Coordinator, MPCET, M.G.S. University, Govt. Polytechnic College Campus, J.N.V. Colony, Bikaner 334 003, along with prescribed fee.

Application Fee: Rs. 1000.00 (Rs. 500.00 for SC/ST candidates) to be paid with the Application in the form of a Demand Draft payable to the Registrar, Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner.

Date, Time and Centre of Test: 01 August 2010 (Sunday) from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Dungar College, Bikaner.

Patern of Entrance Test: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)- with 100 questions of 3 marks each; negative marking subtracting 1 mark for each wrong answer. Test will be followed by an interview of 30 marks.

ENTRANCE TEST NOTICE FOR ADMISSION TO BAMS / BHMS COURSE 2010

An MCQ type competitive test for admission to BAMS Courses in Rajiv Gandhi Govt Post- Graduate Ayurvedic College, Paprola, Distt. Kangra, -HP-176115 and BHMS Course in Solan Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital Solan will be held on 18-7-2010 (Sunday) at Shimla (University Campus) and Dharamshala Examination Centres.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS: 85% of the total 100 (ie 50 existing and 50 additional seats) for BAMS Course will be filled up from amongst the Bonafide residents of Himachal Pradesh. Two seats are reserved for Govt, of India Nominees (i.e. for J&K State) and rests of the seats are open seats to be filled up on All India basis. The admission for additional seats as mentioned above will be made subject to approval from the competent authorities.

Age for BAMS Course: The candidate should have attained the age of 17 years and must not have completed 25 years of age as on 1st of October, 2010.

Educational Qualification for BAMS Course: The candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (40% marks in case of SC/ST/OBC) and must have passed English as an elective subject.

The Govt, of India nominees shall have to fulfill the eligibility conditions i.e. minimum educational qualification i.e. should have passed 10+2 (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) having at least 55% marks and age condition as mentioned above for BAMS but they will not be required to compete in the entrance test. The nomination's application should be forwarded through competent authority ( Secretary ISM) of Govt of Jammu & Kashmir to the Director of Ayurveda (ISM & H), Govt, of Himachal Pradesh, Ayurveda Bhawan, Block number-26, SDA Complex, Kasumpti, Shimla-171009 with a copy to the Principal Rajiv Gandhi Govt. P.G. Ayurvedic College Paprola, Distt. Kangra, H.P. with in the stipulated date.

Eligibility Conditions & Educational Qualification for BHMS Course: The candidate, should have passed 10+2 from HP Board of School Education or from recognized board / University or equivalent Degree / examination passed with science (Medical Group with Physics, Biology & Chemistry) of the University / H.P. Board of School Education and the candidate should have attain the age of 17 years on or before 31 st December of the year of his admission to the first year of the Course. The candidates desirous for BHMS Course also have to apply to the Principal, Solan Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Solan (Private) in Form number- 3 available in the prospectus so as to reach there by 17-08-2010

Note: The candidates appeared in the qualifying examination and whose results are still awaited can also apply but their candidature will be purely provisional and subject to fulfillment of minimum eligibility criteria at the time of Counselling.

How To Apply:

Procedure for Obtaining the Prospectus:
(i) By Cash: For prescribed application form and detailed information etc, the prospectus can be obtained at the University Examination Enquiry-cum-Sale Counter No 1, Library Building (Basement) Summer Hill, Shimla-5 from 11.6.2010 to 28A2010 during working hours on payment of Rs 1150/- for General & other categories, and Rs 650/- for SC/ST categories only.
(ii) By Post: The request for obtaining the prospectus by post can only be addressed to the Deputy Registrar(Entrance Tests) HP University, Shimla-171005 accompanied by crossed IPOs / Bank Draft amounting to Rs 1250/- for General & other categories, and Rs 750/-for SC/ST categories drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, H.P. University, Shimla-5. No request for obtaining the prospectus by post will be entertained after 22.6.2010. While applying for obtaining the prospectus by post, the candidate must write "Request for BAMS / BHMS Prospectus-2010" and also mention complete mailing address in CAPITAL LETTERS along with the telephone number.



Note: It will be the entire responsibility of the candidates to procure the prospectus well in time and submit the application form complete in all respects within the stipulated date. The University will not be responsible for any lapse on this account or postal delay for non-receipt or misplacement or loss of prospectus in transit.
