Ph.D in Management Admissions 2011

Applications have been invited by Nirma University, Ahmedabad, for admission to full-time Ph.D course in Management of Academic Session June 2011.

Eligibility :
Those aspiring to be admitted in the Ph.D. programme must hold a master's degree or equivalent (such as PGDM) with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA. Candidates appearing for final examination can also apply, provided they satisfy the eligibility requirement by June 30, 2011.

Selection Process:
The selection procedure for admission consists of two steps :
(i) Written Test:
Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of their applications and supporting documents and those who are eligible will be called for a written test. The written test will be held atAhmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi and Jaipur.
(ii) Personal Interview:
Candidates short-listed on the basis of their performance in the written test will be called for personal interview on the same day of written test.
The final selection to the programme would be based on the candidate’s performance in the written test and personal interview. The personal interviews are normally held only at Ahmedabad.

MBBS, BDS and BAMS Admissions 2011

Amrita Entrance Examination (Medical) 2011, for admission to MBBS, BDS and BAMS (Ayurveda) courses under the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, will be held from 10 am to 12.30 pm on 22nd May 2011 (Sunday) at Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Kozhikode, Kochi, Amritapuri (Kollam) and Thiruvananthapuram and also at California, U.S.A.

Amrita Entrance Exam will be of objective type with approximately 25 questions from Physics, 35 from Chemistry, 70 from Biology/Biotechnology, 10 from English and 10 from General Knowledge. The syllabus for Amrita Entrance Examination will be as per the 10 + 2 examination (CBSE). Each correct response will be awarded three marks and for each incorrect response one mark will be deducted from the total score.

Applicant should have attained at least 17 years of age as on 31st December 2011, but should not have crossed the age of 23 years as on that date. Applicant must have passed plus two or equivalent Examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology /Biotechnology and English. They should have passed in these subjects individually and should have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in English and 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology taken together, from any State Higher Secondary Board or equivalent (Biotechnology subject will be considered only for MBBS). For SC/ST Candidates, minimum marks required in plus two is 50% and 40% in the Amrita Entrance Examination.

Applicant must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination/equivalent in first attempt (Exemptions may be considered only on medical grounds and the decision of the Chairman-Admissions will be final and binding). The last two years of such study should include Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English (Biotechnology subject will be considered only for MBBS). Students studying in foreign countries following a syllabus other than any Indian syllabus should produce an Equivalence Certificate from The Association of Indian Universities, A.I.U House, 16 Comrade Indrajit Gupta Marg [Kotla Marg], New Delhi-110002.

Those awaiting results of the qualifying examination can also write the Amrita Entrance Examination subject to their producing the mark list of the qualifying examination on or before 6th June 2011. Application can also be downloaded from www.amrita.edu and submitted along with a DD for Rs. 1,500/-, drawn in the name of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, payable at Kochi. Application can be submitted Online at www.amrita.edu as per the instructions there. The last Date for sale of Application is 25th April 2011.

There are 100 seats for MBBS and the annual tuition fee is Rs. 3,50,000/- For BDS, the number of seats is 60 and annual tuition fee is Rs. 2,50,000/- For BAMS also there are 60 seats. Annual tuition fee is Rs. 90,000/-

GROUP A: (Minimum qualification prescribed is an equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years of study, the last two years of study comprising Physics, Chemistry and Biology with English; candidates should have been born on or before 31 Dec 1994)

MBBS: A candidate for admission to medical course "must have 60%@ marks at +2 level in each of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany and Zoology taken together) and have an aggregate of 140/200 in these subjects, both at qualifying and competitive examinations and should have passed in English" (@ 60% in each and 130/200 aggregate for BC, 55% in each and 120/200 aggregate for MBC, and 40% in each and 80/200 aggregate for SC/ST candidates).

2. BSc in (Nsg): Candidates should have a pass with 45% aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology).

3. BOT: Candidates should have a pass in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
