The AsiaGSB Management Aptitude Test (AMAT)

The AsiaGSB Management Aptitude Test (AMAT) is an all-India entrance examination for admission to the One-Year Post Graduate Program in Management. This test is administered and conducted by a Committee comprising of faculty from Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University, ITM Group of Institutions and AsiaGSB.

Eligibility:
1. Candidates must send filled-in application form for the PGPM course to AsiaGSB (can be downloaded from the website) along with a fee of Rs. 1,000/- in favour of Asia Graduate School of Business, payable at Hyderabad. The amount can be paid by Online Transfer/Cheque/DD. Candidates may also bring the application form along with the fee to the Test Center on the day of exam.
2. Candidates who have not written GMAT, CAT, and XAT are eligible to apply for the test.

Sections: Exam will consist of three sections: Analytical section, Verbal section and Quantitative section.
Examination Date & Time: Date of Exam: Sunday, June 6, 2010: Time 9.30 a.m. – 11.30 a.m.

Application Deadline: All postal applications should reach AsiaGSB campus by May 15, 2010.

Selection Procedure: Final selection of the candidate is decided based on AMAT/GMAT/XAT/CAT scores, personal interview, and overall profile, including academic and professional achievements.

Application Procedure: Admit cards will be sent by E-mail to candidates. Please bring a copy to the center. Candidates who have cleared the personal interview and are waiting to write the AMAT exam are requested to pay Rs. 30,000/- for seat confirmation. This amount is later adjusted in the tuition fee. However, this amount will be refunded incase the candidate does not qualify in AMAT. For those who are bringing the filled-in applications to the test center, a unique ID will be given at the center by an authorized representative.

Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Certificate Admission 2010

Minimum 3 years (which may be extended by 6 months or so depending upon the performance of the students) Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Certificate Training Programme duly approved by Director General of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India, for appearing in ‘Mechanical’ and ‘Avionics’ stream. The students have to pass each semester examinations with 70% marks and 80% attendance in each semester before appearing for DGCA AME licence exam.

Eligibility: Passed 10+2 or equivalent with 50% marks each in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry & English and 55% marks in the aggregate in these aforesaid subjects, 60% and above preferred or 3 years State Govt. Diploma in Mechanical/Electronics/Electrical with 60% marks, higher percentage preferred or B.Sc (Pass) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics having obtained 55% marks in their Graduation.

The Institute's main emphasis is on Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Foundry, Forge & allied Materials Processing Technology, Environmental Science & Engineering, Computational Materials Engineering Pure and Applied Sciences. The selected candidates will also be required to assist in teaching and upkeep of the laboratories.


Eligibility:
For Post Doctoral Fellow, a Ph.D degree is mandatory. For Ph.D, the candidates should have Master Degree in appropriate branch of engineering with minimum CGPA of 6.5 or 60 % from a recognized institute/ university. First class Master Degree in basic and applied sciences will also be considered. Candidate must have been admitted to the M.Tech. programme with a valid Gate score for scholarship. The British Council is delighted to announce the launch of the British Council IELTS Scholarship for Indian students planning to study at universities overseas. In line with its mission to promote the global sharing of knowledge and ideas, the British Council will select eight students from India, each of whom will receive an award of Rs.3,00,000 towards the cost of tuition fees.

Eligibility:
* Be a citizen of India.
* Begin full time postgraduate study outside India in 2010.
* Attend a higher education institution that accepts IELTS as part of its admission requirements.
* Have a valid IELTS score, with a minimum band score average 6.5.
* Have taken their most recent IELTS test with the British Council.

Nordam Dee Howard/Etienne Fage Scholarship 2010

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and The NORDAM Group annually award $2,500 to an undergraduate who is officially enrolled as an aerospace engineering or aeronautical systems maintenance engineering major at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

The NORDAM Dee Howard/Etienne Fage Scholarship was created by NBAA and The NORDAM Group to honor the lifetime achievements of two aerospace engineering pioneers, Dee Howard and Etienne Fage. NORDAM has been a world leader in aircraft component manufacturing and repair since 1969.

Eligibility: To be eligible for the NORDAM Dee Howard/Etienne Fage Scholarship, the applicant must be an undergraduate sophomore, junior or senior and have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. A completed and signed application form must be accompanied by an essay, official transcript, resume and letter of recommendation.
Awards: Awards will be made to U.S. citizens without regard to sex, race, religion or national origin. This scholarship will be presented at the NBAA 63rd Annual Meeting & Convention in October 2010. It will be redeemable under the conditions established by NBAA and The NORDAM Group, and checks will be made payable to Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. The scholarship recipient must use all scholarship funds within 24 calendar months of the announcement of the award or risk forfeit of the award.

Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration Admission 2010

Welingkar Institute of Management is an autonomous institute and all distance learning programs offered by it are autonomous in nature, but it is one of the few institutions whose distance learning programs have been accredited by Distance Education Council (DEC), a body of the Central Govt. of India.

Distance Education Council (DEC) has been set up by the Govt. of India under the IGNOU Act for assessment and accreditation of distance education institutes in India. An approved institute and its programs are stringently appraised by DEC with regard to its content, quality of education and its delivery systems.

A Joint Committe of Nominees from AICTE, UGC, IGNOU and DEC does thorough inspection before recognition of the programe. Hence, DEC approval ensures students about the quality of education and assures them about the standard of qualification which they earn from the Institute’s distance learning programs.
Duration: This is 2 years, PG Diploma program offered in the distance learning mode. The curriculum is at par with the Distance Learning MBA offered by leading Universities. The two year program is divided into 4 semesters. The registration validity of these 2 year PG programs is 3 years. The registration validity is subject to payment of full program fees as per the payment schedule. While the program duration is of 2 years only, the additional one year is given to students to submit/clear all pending exams/project report. Incase, a student is not able to complete the program within 3 years, he is required to pay Rs.7500/- Re-Registration Fees for getting one more year extention to clear the balance subject(s) or to submit the project.

Salient features of the program: The first two semesters are generic, common to all and cover general topics of management. The last two semesters contain specialization related subjects.

* Graduates from any recognized university.
* Diploma holders from any recognized polytechnic with 3 years of supervisory work experience post diploma.
* Final year degree student. However, their admission will be confirmed only on submission of the attested Xerox copies of their degree certificates/final year mark sheets within 60 days of admission.
* If a student has completed his graduation from an international university, then the University should be approved by AIU/UGC/IGNOU or by any other international associations like EQUIS, AACSB OR AMBA.

This one-year Program, currently in its seventh batch, has been designed specifically to equip senior executives with quantitative tools and qualitative perspective so that they can make strategic decisions. The Annemarie Schimmel Scholarship 2010 – Lahore



The Scholarship was established in honour of Professor Annemarie Schimmel to commemorate her great contribution to culture and poetry in Pakistan and her role as a dedicated woman scholar. It offers the opportunity to do post-graduate study in the United Kingdom to a woman who is committed to make a genuine contribution to her chosen field on her return to Pakistan.

Eligibility: The Schimmel scholars will be chosen for their ability and commitment without discrimination as to religion, caste or creed. Candidates must have either a professional degree or they should have completed sixteen years of education in a relevant discipline. They must be citizens of Pakistan and have a declared intention to return and pursue a career in Pakistan. Those having a minimum two year professional work experience will be given preference. There is no restriction on age, but preference will be given to candidates between the ages of 25 and 40. A genuine need for financial assistance is an essential condition of the scholarship.
The candidates must supply adequate evidence that they would not be able to study abroad without financial assistance. Candidates must bear the expenses of air travel. While not a requirement, preference will be given to those candidates who have secured admission to a programme of study at a recognized institution of their choice in the United Kingdom. In the absence of a sufficiently qualified candidate the scholarship committee reserves the right to make no nomination. Candidates must have cleared their IELTS exam before appearing for the final interview held in November/December of the current year.

Uniqueness of the Scholarship: The Scholarship has a reputation for absolute fairness and is extremely generous. It allows candidates to choose from the best and most prestigious institutions of higher learning in Britain. It covers the full cost of tuition and basic living expenses. The selection is based completely on merit but a major consideration is given to the need and relevance of the particular degree for Pakistan and the commitment of the scholar to return and serve in Pakistan.

Field of Study: Selection will not be restricted to any subject. Preference will be given to traditional humanities or sciences and also to humanitarian fields, such as public health, special education and ancillary medical fields, for example, physiotherapy and radiography. Studies in economic development, social sciences and modular courses in various disciplines will also be considered. Subjects excluded are journalism, business, management, IT, media, and gender/women’s studies. Candidates wishing to pursue higher learning in areas related to Annemarie Schimmel’s scholarship on Islam are encouraged to apply.The course of study can be purely academic or could involve practical training. Prospective candidates are strongly urged to acquire basic computer literacy and word processing skills.

Duration: The scholarship is awarded for one academic year (session starting Sept/Oct. 2011) for a Master’s degree at recognized institutions of higher education in the UK. Doctoral candidates are not eligible.

Application Procedure: Applications are invited up to 7th June 2010, accompanied by ALL required documents. They must be submitted once and not in parts. Incomplete and late applications will not be entertained. An initial short-listing will be done according to the eligibility criteria mentioned.

Written Test: A written test will be held for the short-listed candidates in September 2010. The test will be conducted simultaneously in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. The candidates will be able to select their centre of choice in advance. The test is general in nature, aiming to check the candidate’s aptitude and proficiency in English. It is not subject based and does not require any specific preparation.

Interview: Between five to ten candidates are selected for the final interview with the AMSS committee. The interview will be held in October/November 2010, at Lahore. The candidates are expected to bear their own travel expenses.

Candidates who have completed or will be completing M.Sc. in life sciences (Agriculture/ Botany/ Chemistry / Biotechnology/ Bioscience/ Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Bioinformatics) with minimum 55 % marks and have cleared CSIR UGC NET Exam/ ICMR NET Exam / DBT JRF Exam or any other Exam leading to JRF/ SRF fellowship tenable at CIMAP (as on 03rd August, 2010) are eligible for selection under the programme to carry out advanced research. in the above mentioned areas of research.

The selection will be made on the basis of interview only. The selected candidates will be enrolled for Ph.D Programme in academic affiliation with the Jawahar Lal Nehru University, New Delhi. Reservations are as per Government of India norms.

The interview of short-listed candidates will be held on 02 and 03 August, 2010 and eligible candidate will be communicated about date and time of the interview by post. These students will have to complete Pre-Ph.D. courses in any one of the three sub-disciplines (Plant Sciences/Biotechnology and Bioinformatics/Chemical sciences) of their interest as the Core courses with optional courses, in two semesters spread over one year. On the successful completion of courses (OGPA 6.5/10 for general category and 6.0/10.0 for SC/ST/OBC) students will be eligible for registration as CIMAP-JNU Ph.D scholar under the supervision of CIMAP scientist available as guide to carry out research on a scientific topic covered under CIMAP’s mandate at CIMAP. A maximum of twenty four students may be admitted per academic year covering all the three sub disciplines mentioned above.

Completed application forms must be accompanied with a crossed Demand Draft for Rs.300/-(Rupees three hundred only) towards processing fee drawn in favour of Director, Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Lucknow. A Demand Draft of Rs. 100/- (one hundred only) is acceptable from SC/ST/OBC candidate provided relevant documentary proof is attached with the application. The processing fee is not refundable.

3. Application should be accompanied by attested copies of certificates and mark sheets from Senior Secondary level onward.

Admission to all above mentioned courses shall be made on the basis of Vishwavidyalaya Entrance Test (VET).

Minimum Eligibility for each course and application form for VET along with the admission brochure can be downloaded from University website (www.ggu.ac.in). However, forms will be accepted only when accompanied with a DD of Rs. 400/-(Rs.200/- for SC/ST candidates) in favor of the Registrar, Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, payable at Bilaspur (C.G.). Duly filled application forms alongwith self addressed stamped envelope Rs. 30/- (Thirty Only), two passport size colored photographs and demand draft of requisite amount to be send by registered mail / speed post to: The Assistant Registrar (Acad.), Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Koni, Bilaspur - 495009, (C.G.) so as to reach on or before 31-05-2010. University shall not be responsible for any postal delay.

Candidates appearing in the qualifying examinations are also eligible to apply. However, the candidate must produce the final result/ mark sheet of qualifying examination at the time of admission.
