NIFT announces admissions to its short duration part time evening programmes in Design, Management and Technology under Continuing Education (CE). These are certificate programmes that have been developed by integrating practical knowledge with theoretical inputs and are ideal for those in the industry looking for upgrading their knowledge base in specific areas. There are courses to help those who are keen on following a career path in design; and there are courses to give that extra edge to people in fashion and design industry
The candidates are advised to visit the NIFT website, www.nift.ac.in for detailed information. The CE prospectus and admission form for one year and short term programmes can be obtained from NIFT centres (Bengaluru, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Patna and Raebareli) by post on payment of Rs. 150/- or by hand for Rs. 100/- through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of National Institute of Fashion Technology, payable at any of the NIFT centres

Award of Biotechnology Overseas Associateship to Scientists Working in North-Eastern States under special programme for the northeast – 2009-10
Applications are invited from Indian Nationals working in any of the North-Eastern States of India for the award of Biotechnology Overseas Associateship (2009-10) under the special programme for the Northeast for conducting research or training in overseas research laboratories in different areas of biotechnology such as
* Agriculture, food and feed biotechnology
* Animal biotechnology
* Aquaculture and marine biotechnology
* Food and nutrition
* Environmental biotechnology
* Industrial biotechnology, materials biotechnology, reaction and process design
* Medical biotechnology
* Nano-biotechnology and bioengineering
* Bioinformatics and IT-enabled biotechnology
* Intellectual property and patent law.
Applicants possessing a Ph.D in the area related to biotechnology, life sciences or a MD degree with a good record of research contribution in the field of research are eligible to apply, they should hold regular/permanent positions in Government recognized research and academic institutions/universities located in any of the North Eastern states (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura) working continuously for the last two years and should be actively engaged in biotechnology or related R&D work. Applications from persons working on temporary positions (eg. research fellows or associates etc) will not be considered, preference will be given to candidates who are permanent residents of any of the northeastern states.
