The Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE), Hyderabad is the premier Business School at Hyderabad and recognised as a “Centre of Excellence” by the Indian Council of Social Science Research, Ministry of Human Resources, Govt. of India.

ELIGIBILITY: The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PC) or equivalent in any discipline.

Candidates appearing for the final year degree examination (or equivalent examination) can also apply. The proof of acquiring the required qualification should be submitted by 30th June, 2009.


SELECTION: Selection will be based on the performance of the candidates in CAT, GD & PI and consistent academic record.

IPE uses CAT for shortlisting the candidates, IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the Programme.

APPLICATION: In addition to appearing at the CAT-2008, candidates will have to obtain, fill in and submit the IPE application form to IPE by December 08, 2008. The form can be obtained form the Admissions Officer, IPE, OU Campus, Hyderabad-500007 by payment in cash of Rs.750/- (including registration fee) or by a crossed demand draft for Rs.800/- drawn in favour of Institute of Public Enterprise, payable at Hyderabad to obtain by post.

OBJECTIVES
The objective of the PGDCM Programme is to create business professionals who would know how to apply ICT (Information and Communication Technology) in making a difference in business and economy. The programme is an outcome of the felt need for weaving a general management programme around ICT to develop a business curriculum that would train managers for an increasingly global and information-rich future. The programme covers the following sphere of learning: (a) understanding different domains of organizations and related functional areas of management; (b) understanding the role of ICT in Management; (c) understanding of ICT-enabled enterprise systems; and (d) understanding tools and methodologies of business analytics with the aim of using data creatively for better decision making.

Curriculum for PGDCM
In the revised course structure effective form academic year 2008-2009, all compulsory courses get over in the first year. The list of compulsory courses is developed around the following five Building Blocks:
.understanding the basics of disciplines and functions of business management;
.understanding human and organization behaviour
.understanding the environment and society;
.knowing ICT tools well; and
. knowing application areas of ICT.

In the second year, students choose electives from functional and ICT-related areas. In addition, they also complete a year-long industry/ research project on an ICT-related topic. An ICT-related course or topic is one that either dwells on ICT or discusses usage of ICT in one or more functional areas.


SELECTION CRITERIA FOR PGDCM PROGRAMME
PGDCM applicants, like Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) applicants, should appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT). Applicants are advised to refer the CAT advertisement released in leading newspapers on July 13, 2008. (Which is also available in this website). CAT eligibility for PGDCM is the same as for PGDM. The interview shortlist will be prepared based on multiple criteria such as CAT score, academic performance and relevant work experience. The shortlisted candidates will appear for separate PGDCM Group Discussion/ Personal Interview (GD/PI), which will also evaluate candidates’ competence and interest in ICT.

HOW TO APPLY FOR PGDCM PROGRAMME
In filling up the CAT Application Form (CAF), darken the circle against PGP-PGDCM along with other options. From this year, there will be no separate application form, payment, or test for admission to this programme.

RAMAKRISHNA MISSION VIDHYALAYA

Ramakrishna Mission Vidhyalaya distributed special vehicles to students with physical disabilities.

A release said selected students were given training in using the vehicle. The special scooter was worth Rs.50,000.
