College of Agribusiness Management (CABM) is a constituent of premier Farm University, the G. B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, and benefits from its highly qualified and dedicated faculty. The MBA programme approved by the AICTE is offered for three streams viz. one for Engineering Graduates (MBA), other for Agriculture and allied Graduates (MBA-Agribusiness) and the third for Agriculture and allied, Business Administration/ Studies, Commerce Engineering, and Pharmacy Graduates. Whereas first one provides specialization in relevant functional areas, the industry specific specializations in Farm Engineering, Food Industry, Hi-tech Agriculture, Horticulture, Input Supply, Vet. Pharmaceutical Industry and Livestock Industry; specialization in functional areas are provided in the second; and focus is on Food Retail and Supply Chain Management in the last one. The programme has patronage of leading corporate houses for projects, placements, MDPs, research and consultancies and has a track record of 100 percent placement.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
The candidates will have to appear in Common Admission Test (CAT) being conducted by IIM, Kozhikode on November 16, 2008. Our institute uses CAT for short listing the candidates for their two year full time Post-graduate Programme in Management. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme. The candidates short listed on the basis of CAT Score will have to appear for Group Discussion and Personal Interview at CABM, Pantnagar on specified date(s).

The forms can be obtained and submitted up to January 30, 2009 with a late fee of Rs. 3000/-. 9th Batch Post-Diploma in Thermal Power Plant Engineering (2008-09)
WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN
The main aim of the course is to develop a pool of technically trained manpower readily available for recruitment to the Indian Power Sector. Besides, the course shall enhance the knowledge and skills of the engineers sponsored by the State Electricity Boards, Power Utilities etc.
ABOUT THE COURSE:
This course is of one year duration (2 semesters) and the course profile covers the mandatory requirements under Indian Electricity Amendment Rules, 1981, which stipulates “No person shall be authorised to operate or undertake maintenance of any part or whole of generating station of capacity 100 MW and above together with the associated sub-station unless he is adequately qualified and has undergone the specified training at a recognised Institute”.
ELIGIBILITY:
3 (Three) Years Diploma Holders or equivalent in Mech./Elecl./Instrumentation Engineering from a recognized Technical Board with minimum of 60% marks.
Reservation for SC/ST/OBC is applicable as per Govt. norms.
Graduate Engineers are not eligible for this Post Diploma Course
SELECTION CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION : Merit based on Diploma marks.
AGE LIMIT :-
For non-sponsored candidates the age limit as on 30.09.2008 is 27 years.
No age limit for the sponsored candidate.
TOTAL SEATS: 50 (Fifty seats)(Provisional).
Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/Physically challenged as per Govt. of India Norms for Non-sponsored candidates. 25% seats are reserved for candidates sponsored from Power utilities having more than one year experience and more than 65% marks in Diploma.
PLACEMENT:
To provide career opportunities in the Indian Power Sector, NPTI shall maintain close linkages with Power Utilities and reputed companies for employment of these trained Diploma engineers. Most of the students of previous batches were placed decently in reputed Power sector companies. NPTI will not make any efforts for placement of SPONSORED Candidates.

COURSE FEES:
For non-sponsored candidates: Rs.60,000/- (in two installments).

The cost of Transportation to industries/power stations is to be borne by the participants.
