Master of Design Programmes, Ph.D Programmes in Design

Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is an all India examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay), on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India.
The objective of CEED is to assess the candidate's aptitude for design, involving visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity, and communication skills.

Programmes: CEED is a qualifying examination for the following postgraduate programmes in
design.

(a) Master of Design Programmes

lISc Bangalore: M.Des. in Product Design and Engineering*

IIT Bombay: M.Des. in (i) Industrial Design, (ii) Visual Communication, (iii) Animation, (iv)
Interaction Design, (v) Mobility and Transportation Design (Subject to approval).

IIT Delhi: M.Des. in Industrial Design

IIT Guwahati: M.Des.

IIT Kanpur: M.Des. in Industrial Design*

* GATE qualified candidates will also be considered for admission to these programmes.

(b) Ph.D Programmes in Design (in some of the above institutes)

Eligibility for CEED 2010: Candidates must either have completed or be expecting to complete any
of the following, by July 2010:
(i) Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Architecture / Design/ Interior Design, or equivalent
(ii) Professional Diploma in Design (NID/CEPT, or equivalent)
(iii) B.F.A. (4 year professional programme, after 10 + 2)
(iv) G.D. Art (5 year programme after 10th) with one year professional experience
(v) Master's degree in Arts / Science / Computer Applications
Before applying for CEED, candidates must assure themselves that they are eligible to seek admission to the specific programme they are interested in.
There is no age limit and a candidate can appear in CEED any number of times.

Application Form and Brochure: CEED Application Form may be submitted only by ONLINE (Internet
based)
ONLINE submission can be made by accessing the website www.iitb.ac.in/gate. The ONLINE application fee (non refundable) is Rs 950/- (Rs 475/- for SC/ST/PD Applicants).

Examination: The candidates will be required to appear in a single examination of three hours
duration without any break.
Most of the centres are located outside the main city and candidates may have to walk a good distance from the campus main gate to reach the examination venue.
Candidates should report to the examination centre, at least half an hour before the scheduled commencement of the examination. The seating arrangement will be displayed on the notice board of the examination centre.
A candidate has to bring his/her own pencils of different grades (e.g. H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B etc.), sketch pens, poster colors, and other drawing materials for the examination. No drawing sheets have to be brought.
The question paper will be in English. No specific text book or guide book preparations are necessary to appear in CEED. Candidates may however polish up their drawing, rendering and visualization skills.

If a candidate does not receive the admit card within two weeks from the last date for mailing the admit card, he/she may contact the GATE Office, IIT Bombay.

Result Declaration: Authority to declare the results is vested solely with GATE Office, IIT Bombay.
In case any claim or dispute arises in respect of CEED 2010, the Courts and Tribunals in Mumbai
and Mumbai alone shall have the exclusive jurisdiction to entertain and settle any such dispute or
claim.
CEED results will be mailed, ONLY to those who qualify. Information provided by the candidates in the application and the results will be shared with the concerned design programmes, and may be used for statistical purposes.
The Score Card is valid for a period of two years from the date of declaration of the results. It can not be treated as a proof of date of birth, category and disability status.
Duplicate score cards are normally not issued. A candidate needing a duplicate card for a valid reason, should send an application to Chairman GATE, IIT Bombay, enclosing a crossed demand draft of Rs. 300/ - (Rs. Three hundred only) drawn in favour of IIT Bombay, payable at Mumbai.

Applying for Admission to Various Programmes: Qualifying in CEED does not guarantee admission
in any way. A candidate has to apply to respective Institutes for admission and fulfill other
requirements such as tests and interviews of the respective institutions for admission.
A limited number of assistantships, based on merit, are available to CEED qualified students, to pursue the programmes.
The announcement for admission to the postgraduate programmes in design will be notified separately by the different institutes, some time during January to April 2010.
Reservation for various categories will be as per Government of India rules applicable at the time of admission.
The criteria for postgraduate admission and award of scholarship / assistance are different in different institutes. GATE office, IIT Bombay is not in a position to provide information in this regard. Some information on various programmes is given later in this brochure. For more details or any specific queries on admission and programme of any institute, the candidate should contact the concerned head / convener / coordinator.

PGDM FINANCE

Eligibility

The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA of any of the universities incorporated by an Act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing senior secondary, schooling (10+2) or equivalent.

Candidates appearing for the final bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination can also apply. Such candidates must produce a certificate from the Principal/Head of Department/Registrar/Director of the University/Institution certifying that the candidate has obtained 50% marks or equivalent based on latest available grades/marks. Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only if they submit a certificate latest by June 30, 2010 (from the Principal / Registrar of their college/institute issued on or before June 30, 2010) stating that they have completed all the requirements (the results may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate. Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit the marks sheet and a certificate of having passed the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification referred to in the certificate issued by the Principal /Registrar, with at least 50% marks. The deadline for submission of the mark sheet and the certificate is December 31, 2010. Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.

STEP-1 Admission Test
All candidates seeking admission to LBSIM are required to appear in the Common Admission Test (CAT) to be conducted by IIMs on 28-December 07, 2009. STEP-2 Registration at LBSIM
Besides CAT, candidates are required to register at LBSIM, Delhi through a separate Application Form which will be available along with Information Brochure from September 10, 2009 to Nov. 27, 2009 from Admission Coordinator, LBSIM, Delhi.

STEP-3 GD and Interview at LBSIM
Candidates short-listed on the basis of CAT score will be called for Group Discussion(GD), Extempore and Personal Interview(PI) for final selection at the following places

The weightage for final selection will be 60% for CAT score and 40% for Group Discussion, Extempore,work experience, academic performance and Personal Interview. Admission Procedure
1. Register for XAT 2010 with the required fees at www.xlri.edu and obtain XAT ID. Last date for XAT 2010 online registration is November 30, 2009. Only candidates who have applied to XAT 2010 are eligible for admission to LIBA.
2. For applying to LIBA
a) Get a demand draft (DD) for Rs.1000/- favouring “LIBA CHENNAI” payable at Chennai
Or
b) Pay Rs. 1000/- at any of the specified IMS learning centre and obtain the receipt and Admission bullettin.
3. Register online at www.liba.edu by giving your XAT ID and details of DD / IMS receipt.
4. Take a print-out of the Payment Advice form.
5. Mention your name and XAT ID on the reverse of the DD and send your DD / IMS receipt along with the Payment Advice form to the

GENERAL INFORMATION

1. For all courses, where MBBS/BDS is an eligibility requirement, the candidate who have made more than one attempt (i.e. have more than one failure, compartment or reappear) during their MBBS/BDS career, are not eligible. For DM/M.Ch courses, the candidates who have made more than one attempt in MBBS/MD/MS career are not eligible. However, those belonging to Sch. caste/Tribes with up to two attempts in their MBBS/BDS career will be eligible forMD/MS/MDS and Housejob in Oral Health Sciences.

2. The candidates completing internship after 31.12.2009 are not eligible for course No.1 to 3.

3. The number of seats wherever indicated are provisional and may
increase/ decrease without any prior notice.

4. A candidate applying for more than one subject/course except c ate gory-1 & 2 is required to submit separate application complete in all respect for each subject course.

The prescribed application forms along with prospectus (Brochure of information) are also available from the office of the undersigned either personally on payment of Rs. 500/- for GENERAL/OBC/OPH category and Rs. 400/- for SC/ST at the counter(KaironBlock,RoomNo.309)from10.30AMto 12.30PM and from2.30PM to3.30PM on all working days except Saturdays(On Saturdays, forms will be available from 10.30 AM to 12.00 Noon) or by post for which the request must be accompanied with a self addressed thick envelope of size 24x15 cm bearing postage stamps of Rs. 30/- and Bank Draft preferably from any SBI branch payable at SBI Medical Institute Branch (Code No. 1524) Chandigarh for GENERAL/OBC/OPH Rs. 500/- and for SC/ST Rs. 400/-(indicating category) drawn in favour of the Director, PGI, Chandigarh. However, prospectus for DM/M.Ch will be available for Rs. 500/- only as there is no reservation for the same.
