ELIGIBILITY & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
An applicant possessing the following qualifications in appropriate area shall be eligible to apply for admission for Ph.D. programme of the Institute. Masters degree in Engineering / Technology/Architecture/Urban & Rural Planning/Sciences/ Humanities & Social Sciences and Management in respective discipline or equivalent with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 6.00 on a 10 point scale or equivalent as determined by the Institute wherever letter grades are awarded; or 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/ semesters) where marks are awarded.
OR
Applicants with B.Tech./B.Arch. degree or equivalent in respective discipline with excellent academic record (with a minimum CGPA of 7.00 on a 10 point scale or equivalent or 70% marks) may be considered eligible for admission.
Applicants for admission for full-time studies who do not possess a M.Tech./ M.Arch./ MURP degree or equivalent in the relevant field must have a valid GATE score (at least 75 percentile) for Engineering / Technology/ Science disciplines or must have qualified national level fellowship examinations such as NET (JRF/LS) conducted by UGC/CSIR for Science/ Humanities and Social Sciences disciplines.
Engineering/Architecture graduates from any IIT/erstwhile University of Roorkee having CGPA Score > 8.00 or marks > 80% are also eligible for admission without GATE score
RESERVATION/RELAXATION
a) Relaxation in eligibility requirement in terms of minimum CGPA upto 5.5 or 55% marks in aggregate will be given to SC/ST, physically handicapped applicants and those with M.A. English (for admission to Ph.D. English in the Deptt. of Humanities and Social Sciences of IIT Roorkee) as per Institute regulations.
b) Person with Disability (PD) applicants may be permitted relaxation in eligibility requirement of CGPA to 5.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent, or to 55% marks as per regulations.
c) For the SC/ST applicants minimum GATE score requirement will be 50 percentile.
d) Reservation for OBC/SC/ST will be as per Govt. of India directive/Institute rules.

A limited number of fellowships are available to carry out advanced research in all the disciplines as mentioned above. Interested candidates having a Ph.D. Degree may apply for Post-Doctoral Fellowship in all the disciplines mentioned above. Qualification: Candidate with a Ph.D. degree in Science and Engineering or those who have recently submitted their doctoral theses can apply Age: Criteria for age should be same as for Ph.D. Duration : 2 years (renewable for one more year). Fellowship : (i) Rs. 25,000/- p.m. for a Ph.D. with 2 years experience (ii) Rs. 20,000/- p.m. for a recent Ph.D. degree holder. Contingency : Rs. 20,000/- per annum. H.R.A. : As admissible Desirable: First class in degree preceding to Ph.D. and publications in journals of repute.

* Candidates applying for admission to the MBA full-time programme must have pursued at least a 3-year Bachelor's Degree programme after twelve years of formal schooling in any of the following disciplines. The minimum requisite percentage of marks in different disciplines is as follows:
* Arts, Commerce or Social Sciences- 50%

3-year Part-Time MBA programme
Every candidate seeking admission to 3-year MBA programme should have passed a bachelor's degree examination of at least three years duration with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate. Relaxation of this criterion may be made for those who scored more than 55% marks in aggregate in their post-graduate degree or at least 60% in a Diploma in Personnel Management, Diploma in Sales & Marketing or Diploma in Administrative Management of Delhi University conducted by FMS in earlier years.
* Candidates should have at least three years experience as an executive or an administrator in a commercial, industrial or government establishment after passing the Bachelor's Degree Examination.
* Three years Full-Time experience shall be determined as on 1st August, 2010
* Candidates must be sponsored by his/her present employer
3-year part time MBA (Health Care Administration)
Candidates seeking admission to MBA (HCA) programme should have passed a Bachelor’s Degree Examination in Medicine in the University of Delhi or an examination recognized as equivalent.
* Should have at least five years of experience in Hospital Administration after acquiring the Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine.
* Five years of experience shall be considered as on 1st August of the year of admission.

MBA(HCA) Application Forms are available only from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi North Campus, Delhi 110007 against a bank draft of Rs. 750 (Rs. 200 for SC/ST) drawn in favour of the “Registrar, University of Delhi” and payable at par in Delhi.
Foreign Nationals
Foreign nationals presently studying in India need to apply as General Category Indian students and are required to qualify the admission test.
Other foreign nationals who are graduates and are out of India for a minimum period of one year need to apply via their consulate and embassy (with mandatory GMAT scores). Only hard copy applications should be made and sent to Foreign Students Advisor, C/O Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, Delhi 110007.
There is no quota for NRI or PIO and all such candidates need to take the entrance test as General Category Candidates.
FMS Entrance Test
The admission test for both full-time programmes; MBA and MBA-MS will be through a common FMS entrance test to be held on Sunday, January 11, 2010 at 2.00pm at allotted centres in the following cities: Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Guawahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Pune, Varanasi and Visakhapatnam. However, FMS reserves the right to cancel any of the above centres at its own discretion.
The admission test for the MBA (part time) will be held on January 31, 2010 at Delhi only.

Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) University of Delhi Announces MBA (FULL TIME) and MBA Management of Services (Full Time) Two Year Programmes Beginning July, 2010
FMS MBA entrance exam is a MBA Entrance Exam conducted by the Faculty of Management Studies. The pattern of the exam includes Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation, Analytical Reasoning, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension; all these are covered in about 175 questions.
Two year full-time MBA, MBA (Management of Services) & Ph.D. Programmes beginning July, 2010 Number of seats: MBA – 166, MBA (MS) – 7
Eligibility:
MBA and MBA (MS) programmes: Candidates applying for admission to the 2-year full time MBA and MBA (MS) programmes must have pursued at least a 3-year Bachelor’s degree programme after 12 years of formal schooling.
The minimum requisite percentage of marks (in aggregate) in different disciplines, Arts, Commerce or social science (50%) Science (55%), Mathematics or Statistics (60%), Medicine, Engineering or Technology (60%)/CGPA of at least 6.00 in a scale of 10.00 or Post Graduate Degree or 2nd Degree examination after 10+2+3 scheme, securing at least 60% marks. Candidates appearing for the final examination of bachelor’s/post-graduate degree examination may also apply.
Doctoral programme: All candidates, except foreign nationals and teachers of the University of Delhi with minimum of two years of teaching experience, are require to take the admission test to be held on Sunday 10th January 2010.
