ELIGIBILITY FOR JEE-2010
Candidates must make sure that they satisfy all the eligibility conditions given below for appearing in JEE-2010:
Date of Birth
The date of birth of candidates belonging to GE, OBC and DS categories should be on or after October 1, 1985. Whereas the date of birth of those belonging to SC, ST and PD categories should be on or after October 1, 1980.
The date of birth as recorded in the high school/first Board/ Pre-University certificate will be accepted. If the certificate does not mention the date of birth, a candidate must submit along with the application, an authenticated document indicating the date of birth.
Year of passing Qualifying Examination (QE)
A candidate must have passed the QE for the first time, after October 1, 2008 or in the year 2009 or will be appearing in 2010.
Those who are going to appear in the QE later than October 1, 2010 are not eligible to apply for JEE-2010.
The qualifying examinations (QE) are listed below:
i) The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized central / state Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi; etc.
ii) Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board / University.
iii) Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
iv) General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka) at the Advanced
(A) level.
v) High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate
Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
iv) Any Public School/Board/University examination in India or in any foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
vii) H.S.C. vocational examination.
viii) Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
ix) 3 or 4 year Diploma recognized by AICTE or a state Board of technical education.
In case the relevant qualifying examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination at an earlier level.
Minimum Percentage of Marks in QE
Candidates belonging to GE, OBC and DS categories must secure at least 60% marks in aggregate in their QE. Whereas, those belonging to SC, ST and PD categories must secure at least 55% marks in aggregate in the QE.
The percentage of marks awarded by the Board will be treated as final. If the Board does not award the percentage of marks, it will be calculated based on the marks obtained in all subjects listed in the mark sheet. If any Board awards only letter grades without providing an equivalent percentage of marks on the grade sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying the equivalent marks, and submit it at the time of counselling/ admission. In case such a certificate is not provided then the final decision rests with the Joint Implementation Committee of JEE-2010.
Important Points to note
(i) One can attempt JEE only twice, in consecutive years. That means one should have attempted JEE for the first time in 2009 or will be appearing in 2010.
(ii) Those who have accepted admission after qualifying in JEE in earlier years by paying full fees at any of the IITs, IT-BHU, Varanasi or ISM, Dhanbad, are NOT
ELIGIBLE to write JEE at all irrespective of whether or not they joined in any of the programmes.
(ii) The year of passing the Qualifying Examination is the year in which the candidate has passed, for the first time, any of the examinations listed above, irrespective of the minimum percentage marks secured.
(iii) The offer of admission is subject to verification of original certificates/ documents at the time of admission. If any candidate is found ineligible at a later date even after admission to an Institute, his/ her admission will be cancelled automatically.
(iv) If a candidate is expecting the results of the QE in2010, his/her admission will only be provisional until he/she submits the relevant documents. The admission stands cancelled if the documents are not submitted in original to the concerned institute
before September 30, 2010.
(v) If a candidate has passed any of the examinations, listed in Sub-section III.2, before October 1, 2008, he/she is not eligible to appear in JEE-2010.
(iv) If a Board invariably declares the results of the QE late (only after September 30, every year), the candidate is advised to attempt JEE in 2011 or later.
(vii) The decision of the Joint Admission Board of JEE-2010 regarding the eligibility of any applicant shall be final.
HOW TO APPLY FOR JEE-2010
Candidates are advised to read the eligibility criteria (Section III) carefully. A candidate can apply for JEE-2010 either On-line or Off-line.
Applying On-line
• Candidates can apply On-line by logging into IIT-JEE Website., if they have access to computer, printer and Internet at home or elsewhere, by logging on to JEE website. The site has been designed in a 'user friendly' way to help candidates to apply On-line in a step-by-step fashion. On-line application portal will be open from 8:00 AM (IST) on November 1, 2009 to 5:00 PM (IST) on December 7, 2009.
The examination fee is Rs 900/- for GE/OBC/DS candidates and Rs 450/- for SC/ST/PD and female candidates. Candidates can make payment On-line with credit/debit cards of major banks. Payment can also be made through challans of designated banks.
Applying Off-line
Sale of OMR application (Off-line) form and Information Brochure will start from 10:00 AM (IST) on November 16, 2009 and close at 5.00 PM (IST) on December 15, 2009. The application material can be obtained from any of the designated bank branches
The cost of application material including the examination fee is Rs 1000/- for GE/OBC/DS candidates while it is Rs 500/-for Female/SC/ST/PD candidates
Last date for receipt of the completed application form
The last date for receipt of the completed Off-line application at the IITs is 5:00 PM on December 19, 2009. Any application received after this date will not be accepted.
Schedule of JEE-2010
The examination will be held on Sunday, the April 11, 2010 as per the schedule given below:
Paper-I: 9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon (IST)
Paper-II: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM (IST)
The schedule will remain unaltered even if the above date is declared a public holiday.

National Institute of Immunology (NII) invites applications for its Ph.D. programme. Cutting-edge research at the Institute encompasses broad interdisciplinary areas -
1) Chemical Biology 2) Genetics & Cell Signaling 3) Immunity & Infection 4) Molecular & Cellular Biology 5) Reproduction & Development 6) Structural & Computational Biology.
Minimum qualifications:
M.Sc. in any branch of Science (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics) or M.Tech. or M.B.B.S. or M.V.Sc. or M.Pharm. or equivalent qualification recognized by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, is required.
First Division or equivalent grade or at least 60% of aggregate scores in all major examinations from Senior Secondary Certificate (10+2) onwards is required.
Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination this year may also apply; they will be admitted provisionally pending satisfactory fulfillment of the above requirements at the time of joining.
Reservations are as per statutory norms.
Selection procedure :
Candidates fulfilling minimum requirements will be invited for a written qualifying test at their own expenses on February 13, 2010 at any of the following four centers - Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, & Kolkata. The Institute shall try to accommodate the choice of centers indicated by the candidate. However, in case of non-availability of a seat at the centers chosen by the candidate, the candidate shall be required to appear for the written qualifying test at the centre allotted by the Institute.
The written test is aimed at evaluating abilities to comprehend, analyse and reason. Therefore, the examination is General Aptitude Test & no separate syllabus is prescribed.
The results of the written test along with the details of the interviews shall be available on the website of the Institute as well as on the Notice Board of the Institute on February 22, 2010.
Interviews will be held at National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi from June 3-6, 2010. The Interviews will be held in two stages. The candidates will be short-listed for the final interview based on their performance in the first interview. Final interview will be held in the last two days.
The selected candidates would be paid second class train fare for joining the Ph.D. programme on providing the proof of journey.
Candidates selected after the interviews will be enrolled for the Ph.D. programme of NII in academic affiliation with JNU, New Delhi.

FACILITY FOR ONLINE APPLICATION SHALL BE AVAILABLE UP TO 25TH NOVEMBER 2009 BY 3.00 PM. HOWEVER THE APPLICANTS HAVE TO ENSURE THAT THE HARD COPY OF THE ONLINE RECEIPT AND ADMIT CARD FORM REACHES NII ON OR BEFORE 30TH NOVEMBER 2009.

Please read the following instructions carefully before starting the online registration.
Obtain a Demand Draft for Rs. 500/- (Rs. 300/- in case of SC/ST candidates, provided relevant documentary proof is enclosed) of six months validity in favour of 'Director, National Institute of Immunology', payable at Canara Bank, Jit Singh Marg, New Delhi.
Name of the Candidate and date of birth should be entered exactly as shown in the Senior Secondary School Certificate or equivalent.
After filling the required details in the online application form, a receipt and Admit Card form will be generated in the PDF format. The applicant has to take a hard copy printout of these receipt as well as the Admit Card form, sign on the relevant places, paste photographs, attach the following documents and send them by regular post to the address given below.

The online applications will be eligible for further processing only after the receipt of the signed hard copy of online receipt along with all enclosures at the institute before the closing date i.e. November 30, 2009.
After complete processing of the applications, the admit card with signature and seal of competent authority will be mailed back to the candidate.
Incomplete applications in any respect will be summarily rejected & no correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Applications received after the closing date will not be entertained on any ground including postal delays. The decisions of the Admission Committee will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

MS DEGREE IN FRANCE
ICIT has recently entered into MOU with Institut Superier d'Electroniq de' Paris to have an arrangement to offer MS (Master of Sciences) degree under Joint programme.
INSTITUE SUPERIER d'ELECTRONIQ de'Paris, a well known institute in France established in 1955 and has been offering engineering program in Electronics, . It also offers Master's degree in electronics and telecommunication.
Salient features of the scheme:
* Courses covered: MASTER OF SCIENCE ELECTRONIC AND TELECOMMUNICATION.
* Tenure: Total two years including internship of 5 to 12 months.
* Eligibility Criteria:
Basic educational qualification of Engineering graduate in Electronic and Telecommunication, Instrumentation.
Should have completed successfully the Certificate Course in Embedded, VLSI and Digital Signal Processing conducted by Pune University through ICIT Pune and at his sub centers located in Bangalore and Gandhinagar (Gujarat). First semester at ISEP MS degree programme is exempted once student completes above courses successfully at ICIT.
Student has to undergo the admission process at ICIT before admitted to its courses.
Student need not give GRE, TOFEL and any other qualifying examinations to get admitted for said MS degree except has to complete first semester successfully at ICIT.
Admission for the course at IESP will be confirmed as per the guidelines prescribed by ICIT and ISEP.
* Fees:
Initially at ICIT after admission is confirmed fee for each of above courses is Rs.50000/- .
At ISEP, Paris the remaining course fee is EURO 6900/- excluding lodging and boarding.
* Other Expenditure:
At Pune/Bangalore/Gandhinagar first six months expenses for lodging and boarding would be around Rs.4000/- per month.
At ISEP France, appx. EURO 600/- per month towards lodging and boarding.
* Scholarship Available:
French Govt provides monthly scholarship of EURO 615/- to the students for their stay at Paris. This takes care of staying expenses at Paris.
* Internship at Paris:
Student after pursuing second semester at ISEP under this joint MS Programme will have to complete internship of minimum 5 and maximum 12 months a Paris. During the internship he/she will be paid stipend depending upon the performance with a minimum of EURO 900/-.
* Placement Assistance:
After successful completion of second semester and internship, ISEP will provide all assistance for securing job. It will not give assurance or guarantee of job.

Paper-1 and Paper-2 will each have separate sections in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. Both papers will be of objective type, designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates.
