Mudra Institute of Communications (MICA), has invited application for admission to the Post Graduate Programme in Communications Management (PGPCM) leading to Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Communications) - (PGDM-C) for 2010 - 2012

Applicant should have a Bachelor's Degree (10 + 2 + 3 (4) system) with minimum 50% marks or an equivalent qualification, in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities. Those appearing for the final examination of a Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) are also eligible to apply.

Students with demonstrable aptitude for expressing, assessing or conceiving ideas that move people to action and achieve business results, will stand better chances of being shortlisted.

The selection process for the PGDM (C) involves three stages.

Stage-1 is the requirement of CAT/GMAT. Applicant should have CAT 2009 score or GMAT score of 31.12.2007 or later. Indian students can also apply with GMAT scores. GMAT score of 600+ will be considered in lieu of CAT. However short-listing, will depend on the number of applications. (The CAT cut-off percentile for 2009-2011 was 90 percentile and above overall, with sectional cut off of 50 percentile and above in DI & QT and 60 percentile and above for Verbal Comprehension)

Stage-II is MICA Admissions Test (MICAT) for candidates short-listed from CAT/GMAT, to be held in February/March at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai, designed to assess analytical and divergent thinking, written communication skills and familiarity with the Indian ethos.

Stage-III includes Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI). Those short-listed on the basis of MICAT will be invited for Group Exercise and Personal Interview later in March/April 2010.

Application and Prospectus can be purchased from select branches of IMS Learning Resources and Career Launcher, besides the MICA Admissions office. Application Fee is Rs. 1500/-.

Eligibility:
(i) Master’s Degree in Humanities and Social Sciences/ Management Science/ Science/ Engineering/ Technology or Master’s Degree in allied subject with consistently good academic record and a minimum 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA in the Master’s degree.

(ii) BE/ B. Tech with an aggregate of 80% marks or equivalent CGPA with valid GATE Score.

(iii) A fellowship in Chartered Accountancy/ Company Secretaryship from a recognized Indian or a foreign institution with not less than 60% or equivalent CGPA having a minimum of Bachelor’s degree.

Selection: On the basis of Entrance test and personal interview conducted by the concerned department.

International Diploma Course in Guidance and Counselling (2010)

The increasing complexities and stresses of modern day living, everyday reports of lack of interest in studies, low achievement, truancy, aggression, behavioral problems, suicide, drug abuse and the like call for provision of guidance and counseling for children and youth in schools. Teachers and other school personnel need to equip themselves with helping skills to promote students' personal, social, educational, career development and adjustment throughout the school years. This, however, requires professional orientation and training.

In this context, NCERT is offering an International Diploma Course in Guidance and Counselling in collaboration with Commonwealth of Learning (COL), Canada. The course of one year duration witha unique blend of distance/online and face-to-face modes is open to candidates from India, otherSAARC and Afro-Asian countries. Candidates from different regions of India will be admitted onregional basis at DEPFE, NIE, New Delhi and Regional Institutes of Education at Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysore and Shillong. Applications are invited for admission to the course in the prescribed format from the eligible candidates.
