Kerala Medical PG Entrance Examination 2010

Office of The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Govt. of Kerala invites applications for the Entrance Examination for admission to Post Graduate Medical (Degree / Diploma) Courses, 2010 in the Medical Colleges in Kerala.

Eligibility for Admission
Nativity : Applicant should be an Indian citizen of Kerala origin or should have passed the MBBS Course from any of the Medical Colleges in Kerala.


Academic Qualifications : M.B.B.S. Degree from any of the Universities in
Kerala or of any other University, recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala as
equivalent thereto with eligibility for full registration in respect of all courses.
Applicants who will complete Compulsory Rotating Resident Internship (C.R.R.I.)
on or before 31.03.2010 are eligible to apply for the Entrance examination,
subject to the condition that the admission will be given only after obtaining
registration of T C Medical Council.

Age: The Upper age limit for general merit candidates as on 30.04.2010 is 45
years. The upper age limit for service candidates is as per clause IV (C) of
Prospectus.

Selection and Entrance Examination: Selection of General candidates excluding service quota candidate to state quota seats will be made on the basis of an Entrance Examination to be conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations [CEE] at Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kozhikode on 10.02.2010. It will consist of two Papers, each of two hours duration and having 150 Objective Type (Multiple Choice) Questions each. A minimum of 50% marks in the Entrance Examination is mandatory to become eligible for admission as per the Medical Council of India Post Graduate regulations. In case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and SEBC the required minimum marks in the Entrance Examination is 40% and in case of candidates with locomotory disabilities of lower limbs between 40%and 70%, the required minimum marks shall be 45%. As per the clause IX(a) Weightage will be given to candidates who have done Government Service in remote or difficult areas after the MBBS course as per P G Medical Education regulations 2009 Part III of MCI. Such candidates should have completed one year physical service in rural area /difficult rural area stations as on the date of notification of inviting application for the course. A Service certificate mentioned in Annexure VIII of the Prospectus should be attached with the application form.

Application forms: Prospectus and Application form will be available from 02.01.2010 in the website cee-kerala.org (See Clause VIII of the Prospectus). The Application form is common for General and Service candidates. Candidates seeking admission to this course can apply in the Online application form provided on the website www.cee-kerala.org of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations and then remit the required fee at any State Bank of Travancore Branch. Application fee for General candidates is Rs. 1000/- and SC/ST candidates is Rs. 500/-. Service candidates who seek admission under General Quota also, should pay extra Rs.1000/- (Please see Clause VIII (a) Application forms will not be sold from the office of the CEE or office of the DME. Application fee once remitted will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Last date and time for receipt of filled-in application forms: Candidates, seeking admission should forward their completed application with all the required documents mentioned in clause VIII(e) of the prospectus to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram — 695 001, either by Registered Post, by Speed Post or Hand Delivery so as to reach him before 5 pm on 23.01.2010However, Service Candidates should send their Application form, along with copies of all required documents, to the Controlling Officer as stipulated in the prospectus, on or before 23.01.2010. Service candidates seeking admission in General Merit quota will have to forward the application form both to the Controlling Officer and Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. Late, defective and incomplete applications will be summarily rejected. No correspondence will be undertaken in this regard. The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will not be responsible for any postal delay.


Candidates will be allowed, neither to include any information in the application form nor to submit any certificates / documents claiming reservation or any benefits, after the submission of the application, under any circumstances. Candidates must note that they have to obtain the required certificates in the body of the application form itself, wherever specified. The certificates that are attached separately along with the application form will not be considered under any circumstances.

The CEE will conduct the Entrance Examination, prepare and publish the rank list of Candidates who qualify in the Entrance Examination and forward the same to the Director of Medical Education. The rank list will be made available in the website "cee-kerala.org".

The selection, admission and allotment of seats including those under Service Quota will be made by the DME through a Centralized Allotment Process [CAP] and will be based on various provisions laid down in the Prospectus, approved by the Government of Kerala.

Candidates may go through the various provisions of the Prospectus available in the Official website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations at "cee-kerala.org", before filling up the "On-line application forms".

AIPVT 2010 – All India Pre-Veterinary Test



The Veterinary Council of India invites applications for The All India Pre -Veterinary Test (AIPVT) - For Admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. Course.

All India Pre-Veterinary Test-2010 shall be held on Saturday, the 08th May, 2010 (2.00 to 5.00 P.M.).

ELIGIBILITY
An applicant is eligible for admission to the All India Pre Veterinary Test if the following criteria are met with :-


Nationality:
He/She is an Indian national. Since the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 have not been extended to the State of Jammu & Kashmir, candidates from that State shall not be eligible to appear in the said examination unless they submit an Affidavit in enclosed Proforma on Nonjudicial Stamp Paper of Rs. 10/- duly attested by Metropolitan Magistrate/First Class Judicial Magistrate to the effect that:-

They are not eligible to compete for B.V.Sc. & A.H. seats in the State of Jammu & Kashmir and hence, not eligible to seek admission in Veterinary Colleges of Jammu & Kashmir and they are not domicile of Jammu & Kashmir.

Note: Applications not accompanied with the required Affidavit shall be rejected without any further reference in this matter. Such Affidavits submitted by the candidates shall be verified and if found to be false, the admission of all such candidates shall be cancelled and legal proceedings initiated against them.

Age :
He/She has attained or will attain the age of Seventeen (17) years as on 31st December,
2010. Candidates attaining seventeen Years on 1stof January, 2010 or later will not be eligible to appear at the Entrance examination.

Essential Qualification :
He/She has passed:-
(i) The Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years of study the last two years of study with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Education Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 (years) educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.
OR
(ii) The Intermediate Science examination in science from a recognized University/Board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (which shall include a practical test in these subjects) and English.

Minimum marks:
To be eligible for entrance examination, candidate must have passed any of the qualifying examinations as enumerated above. Further, he/she should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks for General Category in aggregate in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at 10+2 /Intermediate Science Examination. Provided also that to be eligible for entrance examination the candidate must have passed the aforesaid subjects individually. For the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste/the Scheduled Tribes or other special category(Other Backward Classes) of students as specified by the Government from time to time, marks required for admission shall be 10% less than that prescribed for General Category.

The Information Bulletin containing the Application Form can be obtained between 4th
January to 15th February, 2010, by hand from the counter of the office of the Veterinary Council of India, 'A' Wing, 2nd Floor, August Kranti Bhawan, Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi- 66 on payment of Rs. 800/- in case of General /OBC Category and Rs. 400/- in case of Scheduled Cast/Scheduled Tribes category through Demand Draft only. The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of "Veterinary Council of India-Examination Fund, New Delhi" Payable at New Delhi.

(ii) The Information Bulletin and Application Form can also be obtained between 4th January to 15th February, 2010, by post on payment of Rs. 850/- for General/ OBC Category and Rs. 450/- for SC/ST Category through Demand Draft in favour of" Veterinary Council of India- Examination Fund, New Delhi" Payable at New Delhi, from the office of the Veterinary Council of India, 'A' Wing, 2nd Floor, August Kranti Bhawan, Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi - 110066.

UM-DAE Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (CBS), Mumbai
The Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, has set up an autonomous Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (CBS) in Mumbai. CBS offers high quality teaching embedded in a vibrant post-graduate and research environment with some of the best teachers and scientists, from major institutions in the city (TIFR, BARC, IIT, HBCSE) and the University of Mumbai and its colleges, on its faculty. The Centre is
located in the Vidyanagari campus of the University of Mumbai. CBS offers a 5-year integrated M.Sc. Programme in biological, chemical, mathematical and physical sciences. The degrees at CBS are awarded by the 150-year old University of Mumbai.

National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar
NISER, established by the Department of Atomic Energy, strives to become a citadel for basic sciences and allied subjects, in terms of teaching and research. Its vision includes imparting high-quality science education in a vibrant academic ambiance to the bright, motivated students, by a faculty of distinguished scientists and teachers. The curriculum is amply supported by a strong visitor's programme by accomplished scientists from India and abroad. NISER offers a 5-year integrated M.Sc. Programme in biological, chemical, mathematical and physical sciences. At present, NISER functions from the beautiful campus of the Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar, a renowned institute. Degrees at NISER will be awarded by the Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), a deemed-to-be University of the Department of Atomic Energy.

Integrated Science Education and Research Centre, Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan
Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan, a Central University, has introduced a 5-year Integrated M. Sc. in the Physical Sciences (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) under Siksha-Bhavana (Institute of Science). The academic activities of the integrated science programme have started at the existing Siksha-Bhavana complex with the assistance of faculty members in the departments of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biotechnology and Computer & System Sciences, which have excellent research facilities. For this programme, the university uses a credit and grade-point system based completely on continuous assessment of the candidate. There are 21 seats this year, including reserved seats for SC/ST/OBC candidates and persons with disability (PD) as per Government norms. Meritorious candidates enrolled at CBS and NISER, whose performance at the end of the programme is above a certain threshold, may be permitted to appear directly before the selection committee of BARC for admission to BARC's training school (leading to a regular job in the Department of Atomic Energy's research centres). All candidates enrolled at CBS and NISER will receive INSPIRE, or equivalent, Fellowships, amounting to Rs. 5,000/- per month and other suitable benefits. Candidates enrolled at Visva-Bharati will be eligible to apply for INSPIRE Fellowships.

Eligibility for Admission:
1. Qualification:
General category and OBC candidates must have secured an aggregate of 60% marks (or equivalent grade) in class XII (or equivalent) from any recognized board in India. For SC/ST/PD candidates the corresponding requirement is 55% aggregate marks. Candidates must have passed the class XII (or equivalent) examination in 2008 or 2009 or must be appearing in 2010. Where only a letter grade is available, a certificate from the board specifying equivalent percentage marks will be required. In the absence of such a certificate, the decision of the admission committee of the concerned institution will be final.

2. Age limit:
General category and OBC candidates born on or after October 1, 1985 are eligible to apply. The age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST/PD candidates.

Admission Procedure:
The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST-2010) will be conducted at 34 towns and cities all over India on Sunday, June 6, 2010. Selection of the candidates will be based on the results of the NEST-2010 examination, which will be available on June 30, 2010 at the NEST website given below.

NEST-2010 Examination:
The NEST-2010 examination will consist of five sections. Section 1 is general and compulsory for all candidates. Sections 2 to 5 will contain questions from biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics respectively. Candidates are required to attempt any two of these four sections. The NEST-2010 examination will have objective-type questions, designed to test the candidate's subject comprehension and analytic ability. (Please refer to the website / brochure for details of the scope of the NEST-2010 examination.) The duration of the examination will be three hours.

How To Apply:
Candidates may follow any of the following two channels to apply.
1. They may follow the instructions on the NEST website given below and fill up the application form on-line, take a print-out and send the same along with the application fee (in the form of a demand draft / postal order) to the address below.
2. They may send a letter to the Chief Coordinator, at the address below, requesting an application form and brochures which will be posted to them. On the receipt of the application form and brochures, the candidate may fill up the form and send the completed application form, along with the application fee (in the form of a demand draft / postal order), to the Chief Coordinator at the address mentioned below.

Application Fee:
The application fee for male general category and male OBC candidates is Rs. 500/-. The fee for male SC/ST/PD candidates and all female candidates is Rs. 250/-. The fee is to be paid in the form of a demand draft / postal order in favour of 'NEST-2010', payable at Mumbai.

Deadlines:
Last date for requesting application forms is February 16, 2010.
Last date for receipt of completed applications along with the requisite fee is March 16, 2010.
The on-line application process will also end on March 16, 2010.


Applications incomplete in any respect or not accompanied by the requisite fee will not be accepted.

Eligibility Criteria

3.1 For B.Tech. (4 years) Course :-

Candidates applying for B.Tech. (4 year) Course should fulfill the following criteria. 1. Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination in 2008, 2009 or appearing in 10+2 examination in 2010 are only eligible to apply for B.Tech (4 year) course of the University.
2. Should have studied in regular full time formal education in their schooling / college.
3. Pass in 10 +2 or its equivalent with atleast 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together.
4. Should have born on or after 01.07.1989.


3.2 MBBS/BDS

10+2 pass with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together for general category candidates and 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together for SC/ST Candidates.

Age: Lower age should be 17 years as on 01.07.10 & upper age limit should be maximum 25 years as on 01.07.10. The upper age limit may be relaxed by three year for SC/ST candidates.

Cochin University CUSAT CAT 2010 Notification Common Admission Test 2010



The Common Admission Test for Academic Admissions 2010 will be conducted on 8th and 9th of May 2010 at various test centers all over India.
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the various academic programmes of the University for the year 2010-11. Admissions are based on Common Admission Test (CAT)/ Departmental Admission Test (DAT) / Test for Lateral Entry (LET).

Only online registration will be considered for all academic programmes of the university except M.Phil, M.A. translation in German/Russian, Ph.D and diploma/certificate programmes.

The candidate should have secured a minimum of 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together, with at least 55% in Mathematics separately.

e. B.Tech in Marine Engg. **(Residential Programme)
(1) Pass in Plus Two or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60% marks & minimum 50% for Mathematics and should have obtained 50% marks in English at 10th or 12th standards. For SC/ST candidates, no relaxation in qualification.
(2) Vocational/Diploma students are not eligible to apply.

What is NEST ?
National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2010 is the entrance test for students seeking admission to the University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS), Mumbai, National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, and Integrated Science Education and Research Centre (ISERC), Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan. The test will be conducted in 34 cities and towns across India. This brochure gives the detailed procedure for applying for the test, syllabus of the test and various deadlines. NEST Eligibility : Students who have passed the class XII (or equivalent) qualifying examination in 2008 or 2009 or are appearing in 2010 from any recognized board of education in India and have secured an aggregate of at least 60% marks (or equivalent grade) are eligible to apply. For SC/ST/PD candidates, the minimum marks requirement is 55%







Age Limit: General category candidates and candidates belonging to OBC born on or after 01 October 1985 are eligible to apply. For SC/ST/PD candidates the age limit is relaxed by 5 years. In any case, the eligibility criterion mentioned above must be satisfied

Number of seats and reservation: This year (2010), the number of seats is 60 at NISER, 30 at UM-DAE CBS and 21 at ISERC. There will be reservations as per government norms. Application fee: Application fee for appearing in NEST is Rs. 500/- for male general category and male OBC candidates. For male SC/ST/PD candidates and all female candidates the amount is Rs. 250/-. The application fee should be sent to chief coordinator at the address mentioned below in the form of a demand draft /postal order in favour of NEST-2010 payable at Mumbai

NEST APPLICATION FORM
Application form: Candidates may follow any of the following two channels to apply.

(a) They may follow the instructions on the website (http://www.nestexam.in) and fill up the application form on-line, take a print-out, paste a photograph at the appropriate place, and send the same along with the application fee (in the form of a demand draft / postal order) to the address below

(b) They may send a letter to the address below requesting application form and brochure which will be posted to them. On the receipt of the application form and the brochure the candidate may fill up the form, paste a photograph at the appropriate place, and send the completed application form along with the application fee (in the form of a demand draft / postal order) to, the chief coordinator, NEST-2010, UM-DAE CBS, Health centre building, university of Mumbai (Vidyanagari campus), Santa Cruz (E), Mumbai-400098

The completed applications must be sent by Registered post/speed post only. Do not send it through ordinary post or private courier services. Please keep the postal receipt for future reference.

Test Schedule: The test will be conducted on June 6, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Candidates should list two centres according to their preference in the application form. Every effort will be made to allot the centre of their first choice. Allotment of an examination centre by the chief coordinator, NEST-2010 will be regarded as final and any request to change of centre will not be entertained. The address of the allotted centre will be mentioned on the NEST admit card.

Admit Cards: Admit cards will be available for downloading from the NEST website (http://www.nestexam.in) starting from April 1, 2010. The candidates who are unable to download the admit cards by April 15, 2010 will have their admit cards sent to them by ordinary post. Candidates must ensure that their mailing address entered as in the application form is correct and legibly written. NEST office will not be responsible if the admit card does not reach a candidate in time because of postal delay or incorrect address. NEST Results: Results of NEST examination will be announced on June 30, 2010 on the NEST web site. Further details regarding admission to the participating institutes based on the NEST-2010 results will be made available on their websites.

Announcement of NEST results on (www.nestexam.in): June 30, 2010

Candidates must reach the examination center at least 30 minutes before the beginning of the test. Candidates will not be allowed to leave the examination hall until one hour after the beginning of the test. Use of any computational aides including log tables and calculators will not be permitted. Candidates must bring their admit card with them. Use of any communication devices including mobile phones is strictly forbidden.

NEST QUESTION PAPER PATTERN
Question paper pattern: The question paper will consist of five sections totaling 200 marks: (1) General, (2) Biology, (3) Chemistry, (4) Mathematics, (5) Physics. The first (General) section is compulsory for all students and will carry 60 marks. Of the remaining four sections (2 – 5) the students will have to select any two, each of which will carry 70 marks. The questions will be aimed at testing the subject comprehension and analytic ability of the candidates. The questions will be of objective type with four options given for each question. Some questions may have more than one correct answer. For some questions in sections 2 to 5, incorrect answers will be awarded negative marks. The question paper will contain explicit instructions in this regard.
