MHT-CET-2010

Govt of Maharashtra shall conduct a single combined common entrance test MHT-CET-2010 for all Health Sciences, Engineering and Pharmacy degree courses for the academic year 2010-2011.

The entrance test will be held on Thursday, 6th May, 2010

Govt of Maharashtra has appointed Director, Medical Education and Research, Mumbai as the competent authority for the MHT-CET-2010

The merit list of the above said examination will be utilized for admission in (i) Govt/Municipal corporation/govt aided colleges of Health sciences degree coruses (ii) Govt/govt. aided/university managed colleges/university departments/autonomous colleges including ICT, Mumbai and unaided private colleges (those colleges who have given consent to participate in MHT-CET-2010) of engineering and pharmacy degree courses (iii) BVSc and AH degree course

For selection process there will be separate competent authorities. For selection to Health science degree courses, the director, medical education and research (DMER), Mumbai is the competent authority. For selection to engineering and pharmacy degree courses, the director, Technical education (DTE), Mumbai will be the competent authority. The authority for selection to BVSc and AH degree course is the Registrar, Maharashtra Animal and Fisheries science university Nagpur

The qualifying examination for appearing at MHT-CET-2010 is HSC (12th std) or equivalent examination with the conditions for eligibility as defined in the respective brochure(s). Maharashtra state candidates appearing for HSC (12th std) or equivalent examination or who have passed their qualifying examination earlier i.e. 2009 or before and desire to appear for the MHT-CET-2010 will receive their application form from their respective Jr. college/school (from where they have passed/appearing qualifying examination)

A single application form and three brochures (Health science, Engineering and Pharmacy) will be made available from 12.03.2010. The schedule and place of receiving and submission of application form is as per following

Sale of application form with information brochure and submission of application form at respective Jr. college/High school, at divisional authorities (for candidates who have appeared/passed HSC 12th std) or equivalent examination from outside Maharashtra: 12.03.2010 to 25.03.2010

All the three brochures (Health science, Engineering and Pharmacy) are available on the website of DMER (www.dmer.org) and DTE (www.dte.org.in). Aspiring candidates should go through the eligibility criteria as per the respective MHT-CET-2010 brochures, before purchasing the application form.

The cost of the application form along with the three information brochures of MHT-CET-2010 and Examination fee is Rs 700/- for open category and all outside Maharashtra candidates and Rs 500/- for reserve category candidates (belonging to Maharashtra state only. This amount is not refundable.

The candidates from outside Maharashtra (OMS) can purchase application form and information brochure(s) of MHT-CET-2010 from any divisional authority office as mentioned in annexure-A by submitting demand draft of Rs 700/- drawn in favour of competent authority, MHT-CET, Mumbai payable at Mumbai, drawn on any scheduled commercial bank.

All candidates who for any reason whatsoever are not able to receive application forms through the school/Jr. college should collect it from office of divisional authority of his/her area (by giving a demand draft as detailed above), but he/she has to submit it through his/her school/junior college (college where he/she studied 12th std)

For candidates who have passed HSC or equivalent exam from outside Maharashtra state (OMR), the place of submission of application form, collection of receipt cum identity card and admit card shall be as given in the following

Defence (D1 and D2) – Divisional authority of their parent’s district of domicile

Defence (D3) – Divisional authority of their place of posting

State govt employee (transferred out of Maharashtra) – Division authority of place of original/initial posting before transfer/deputation

Outside Maharashtra state (OMS) candidates are permitted to appear for MHT-CET 2010 in order to become eligible for admission to first year of; four year full time degree courses in engineering/technology in unaided private institutes who have given consent to participate in MHT-CET-2010; four year full time degree course in Pharmacy in unaided private institutes who have given consent to participate in MHT-CET 2010

Note: Eligible OMS candidates who are appearing for MHT-CET-2010 and seeking admission to engineering degree courses shall be considered eligible for admission against the institute level seats only in unaided private colleges

Eligible OMS candidates who are appearing for MHT-CET-2010 and seeking admission to Pharmacy degree course shall be considered eligible for admission to 15% CAP seats during the centralized admission process (CAP) rounds I&II. Such candidates can also apply for admission against the institute level seats in unaided private colleges

Following type of candidates are exempted from appearing for MHT-CET-2010 examination for admission to engineering/technology courses (i) foreign national/foreign student/person of Indian origin (PIO)/children of indian workers in the gulf countries/children of NRI (ii) government of India nominees (iii) Jammu and Kashmir migrant candidates

Following type of candidates are exempted from appearing for MHT-CET-2010 examination for admission to Pharmacy course (i) foreign national/foreign student/PIO/children of Indian workers in the gulf countries/children of NRI (ii) GoI nominees and Jammu and Kashmir migrant candidates are exempted from appearing for the MHT-CET-2010 conducted by the competent authority of govt of Maharashtra, subject to the approval from the ministry of human resource development, New Delhi, for filling of the seats over and above the sanctioned intake. However, if the approval is not received before 30.06.2010, these candidates will be treated at par with OMS candidates and hence they are advised to appear for MHT-CET-2010

Candidates who are eligible to apply against the provision of Jammu and Kashmir migrant candidate as well as the Maharashtra state candidate are entitled to claim only one type of seat i.e. either Maharashtra state seat of J&K migrant seat for admission to engineering/technology/ Pharmacy degree courses. Further if the candidate opts for Maharashtra state candidature then he/she has to appear for the MHT-CET-2010

Separate notification for the following types of candidates regarding the schedule of admission process will be issued by the Directorate of Technical education, Maharashtra state, Mumbai, in the month of May/June 2010

AIEEE qualified candidates seeking admission to engineering/technology degree courses in unaided institutes who have given consent to participate in CAP; foreign national/foreign student/PIO/children of Indian workers in the gulf countries/children of NRI (iii) J&K migrant candidates

WREAC Scholarships 2010 – UK


Two ESRC scholarships linked to the White Rose East Asia Centre are available in 2010. Closing date for applications is 12 March 2010.

The first, which will be based at the University of Sheffield is for a 3 year study programme leading to a PhD in a topic related to Japan and using Japanese language source materials.

The second, for two years of study at MA level focused on China. This could be two taught MA programmes, or a taught MA folllowed by an MA by research. While there is no requirement to have previoulsy studied Chinese, students will be expected to have developed an effective working knowledege of Chinese by the end of the two year programme. Beginners in Chinese will be advised to take the MA Chinese (language) followed by the MA in Chinese Business and the Asia Pacific or an MA by research. Applicants whose first degree is in Chinese might be interested in taking the MA Chinese Studies, MA Chinese Business of MA Advanced Chinese Studies (focusing on language) followed by an MA by Research. How To Apply: After being accepted by either the universities of Sheffield or Leeds, UK resident applicants, which the funding council defines as people with three years of residency in Great Britain prior to beginning their studies, should submit a CV, research proposal and completed application form to the WREAC Office by the deadline of 12 March to apply for a WREAC scholarship. PGDM Programme is meant for those who want to shape their career in management and excel in it. The unique courseware has been designed to ensure that the management graduates of ACCMAN develop a judicious blend of strategic thinking and tactical implementation, specialized knowledge and general management skills. ACCMAN uses CAT for short listing the candidates for two year fulltime PGDM Programmes (IIMs have no role either in the selection process or the conduct of the programmes).

Application Deadline: Applications for admission will open on May 26, 2010, after CBSE results are out (and AIEEE and JEE results are also out). The brochure will also be available from the end of March only from this site. Students can download it free of cost.
No. of Seats: Total number of seats is 100, out of which 85 are reserved for Delhi candidates (those who have done their class XII from Delhi), and 15 for outside Delhi. Within these there are reservations, as per Delhi Government guidelines, for SC/ST, PH, etc.

Eligibility: To appear in the entrance test of IIITD the total PCM marks in Class XII board should be greater than or equal to 80%. There will be a 10% relaxation for SC/ST candidates, and 5% for PH and Defense.

How To Apply: For applying, an applicant will be required to enter the information online (including bank draft number), print the form, attach a draft, and then mail it. So, have a bank draft ready for Rs 500, payable to “IIIT Delhi”, before filling the form online, and ensure that you have a printer available.
