Short listed candidates will be divided into small groups. A discussion topic will be allotted to each group. Members of the group will debate on the topic assigned by the faculty. Evaluation will be done by a team of expert faculty members. After the group discussion, the candidates have to undergo for a personal interaction with an interview panel of the Institute.

The 8th Annual Conference of the Peace and Justice Studies Association is being organized from October 1-2, 2010. This conference is jointly sponsored by the Peace and Justice Studies Association, Canadian Mennonite University’s Menno Simons College, and the University of Winnipeg Global College. This year’s conference theme is Building Bridges, Crossing Borders: Gender, Identity, and Security in the Search for Peace. Our conference will be held on the campuses of both Canadian Mennonite University and the University of Winnipeg in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on October 1-2, 2010, which marks the 10th anniversary of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace, and Security and the 150th birth anniversary of Jane Addams.

Institute of Management Studies – NCR


Post Graduate Diploma in Management is a two-years full time Program approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. IMS has been awarded accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) as well as the programme has been accredited equivalent to MBA Degree by Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Eligibility: An applicant should have a minimum of three-year Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 50% marks in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities / AICTE. Candidates appearing for the final examination for the Bachelor’s Degree can also apply, subject to furnishing evidence to that effect latest by 30th October 2010.

Duration: The course is of two years duration.

Eligibility

D.M. : Medical graduates holding the degree of M.D. (Medicine) or M.D. (Paediatrics) or DNB in respective subjects or equivalent degree recognized by the Medical Council of India. For the DM (Endocrinology) MD/DNB in Biochemistry candidates are also eligible.

M.Ch. : M.S./DNB (Surgery) or equivalent degree recognized by the Medical Council of India.

v) Duly completed application must be accompanied with a MICR Demand Draft drawn on a nationalized bank and payable at Varanasi in favour of DIRECTOR, IMS, BHU of Rs.2000/- (Rupees Two Thousand only). Demand Draft submitted with this form includes examination fees and is not refundable in any case.

vi) Candidates who are in service of Government/Semi-Government/Statutory Body must apply through proper channel with endorsement certificate of the Employer on the proforma as provided in the application form.

1 GENERAL ELIGIBILITY
1.1 Master's Degree of the University or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in the fields of study notified from time to time by this University. Specific Educational Qualifications are given in Clause 2.
1.2 Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Technology of the University or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in the fields of study with a minimum of 15 years of R & D Experience in National research laboratories / Public sector undertakings and with minimum of three publications in referred impact factor journals or two international patents in the last five years.
1.3 A minimum of 55% marks or CGPA of 5.5 on a 10 point scale in the qualifying examination (50% marks or CGPA of 5.0 on a 10 point scale for SC/ST candidates). For M.A.(English) Degree holders including SC/ST candidates, a minimum of 50% marks or CGPA of 5.0 on a 10 point scale
1.4 The Clause 1.3 does not apply, if the qualifying degree is M.S (By Research) of the University or recognized as equivalent.

Full-time Ph.D Programme:
Candidates under Full-time shall do research work in the University and shall be available during the working hours for curricular, co-curricular and related activities.

Candidates working in the projects undertaken from State/Central/Quasi Government and totally funded through the projects in the University Departments/University Colleges / Colleges affiliated to the University. If the Principal Co-ordinator/Investigator of such projects are recognized Supervisor of the University, the candidate shall register for Research Programme under such Supervisor only. The candidate should be employed in a project sanctioned by a funding agency/organization atleast for a period of two years. Part employments in different spells or in different projects are not permitted. The Department / Centre where the project is undertaken should be a recognized research centre of the University.

Candidates in employment, who want to pursue Full-time study, should be sponsored by their employer and should avail leave for the research period and should get formally relieved from their duty to join the research programme.

Candidates who are sponsored by the AICTE under Quality Improvement Programme for teachers of Engineering Colleges who satisfy the eligibility conditions shall be eligible for Full-time category only, in the specializations as notified in AICTE guidelines.

Candidates who are selected at National level Fellowship programmes or by any recognized bodies and who satisfy the eligibility conditions as per the regulations shall apply for Fulltime category in the respective specializations.

Foreign Nationals sponsored by the Government of India on any exchange programme and who satisfy the eligibility conditions as per the regulations shall apply for Full-time study.

Part-time Ph.D. Programme:
The following categories of candidates are eligible to apply under part-time programme.

Full-time teachers of University Departments/University Colleges/Colleges affiliated to the University (as given in Annexure IV).

Candidates working in Industrial units/R & D Departments/National Laboratories/Units of Government/Quasi Government or any other research laboratories which are recognized by the University to do collaborative research with the University and sponsored by the respective employer.
