Applications are invited for All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Examination (AIPMT) 2011 to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi as per the following schedule for admission to 15% of the total seats for Medical/Dental Courses in all Medical/Dental Colleges run by the Union of India, State Governments, Municipal and other local authorities in India except in the States of ANDHRAPRADESH and JAMMU & KASHMIR

PATTERN OF EXAMINATION of AIPMT 2011
Both Preliminary and Final Examination would be Objective type.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA of AIPMT 2011
(i) He/She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31 * December of the year of his/her admission to the 1" yearM.B.B.S./B.D.S. course and is an INDIAN NATIONAL.
(ii) The upper age limit for All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination is 25 years as on 31* December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes.
(iii) The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio- technology at the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General Candidates. Further, for persons for locomotory disabilityof lower limbs, the minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ ST-PH/OBC-PH are required.
Those who are taking plus two examination in 2011 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later.
RESERVATION OF SEATS of AIPMT 2011
15% seats for SC candidates, 7.5% seats for ST candidates, 27% seats for non-creamy layer OBC candidates in Central Institutions only and 3% seats on horizontal basis for Physically Handicapped candidates are reserved in 15% All India Quota for MBBS/BDS courses.
HOWTO APPLY for AIPMT 2011
(i) Online application procedure for AIPMT 2011
Online submission of application maybe made by accessing the Board's website www.aipmt.nic.in from 15.11.2010 (10.00 A.M.) to 31.12.2010 (5.00 P.M.). Instructions for sending online application, payment of fee and computer generated printout are available on website. Candidates submitting on-line application have been given exemption of Rs. 100/- in the examination fee irrespective of their category.
Accordingly, fee of Rs. 700/- for General/OBC Category Candidates and Rs. 350/- for SC/ST Category Candidates may be remitted in the following ways:
1. By Credit Card, or
2. Through Demand Draft in favour of Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi drawn on any Nationalized Bank payable at Delhi.
(ii) Offline application procedure for AIPMT 2011
Offline submission of Application may be made on the prescribed Application Form. The Information Bulletin and Application Form costing Rs.800/- for General/OBC Category and Rs.450/- for SC/ST category can be obtained against Cash Payment from the designated branches of Canara Bank/Regional Offices of the CBSE between 13.12.2010 to 31.12.2010.
Information Bulletin and Application Form can also be obtained by Post from the Board by sending a written request with a Demand Draft for Rs.850/- for General/OBC Category and Rs.500/- for SC/ST Category payable to trie Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi along with a Self Addressed Envelope of size 12" x 10". The request must reach to the Board on or before 24.12.2010. The request should be superscribed as "Request for Information Bulletin and Application Form for AIPMT-2011".

Admission Test 2011 at Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram
B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering,B.Tech. in Avionics
Admissions to the undergraduate programmes (B.Tech.) at IIST for the year 2011 will be made through an All India Admission Test (ISAT-2011). A brief information about ISAT – 2011 is given below. More detailed information will be available at the ISAT-2011 website from 8th November 2010.
B.Tech. Programmes :
1. B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering: It is similar to programmes of the same title available in many reputed Institutions in India and abroad. The programme in IIST is oriented towards the needs of space technology, and has significant overlap with Mechanical Engineering including Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Science and Space Dynamics. People with B.Tech. degree in Aerospace Engineering can further specialize in Flight Mechanics, Aerodynamics, Thermal and Propulsion, Structure and Design, and Manufacturing Science.
2. B.Tech. in Avionics: The programme covers what is typically covered in Electronics and Communications programmes and in addition, provides exposure to Advanced Electronics in digital and communication, control systems and computer systems used in aerospace systems. People with B.Tech. degree in Avionics can later specialize in areas like DSP, RF & Communication, Antenna, Power Electronics, Micro Electronics, Control System etc.
3. B.Tech. in Physical Sciences: This programme is oriented towards application of basic sciences in Space Science, Space Technology and Space Application. The programme lays a strong foundation in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and gives exposure to important applications of space technology such as Remote Sensing and GIS, Astronomy and Astrophysics, and Earth System Sciences. People with B.Tech. degree in Physical Science can later specialize in areas like Atmospheric and Ocean sciences, Solid Earth Science, Astronomy and Astrophysics, Remote Sensing & GIS, and Chemical Systems. The curriculum will have the best blend of basic science and engineering.
Intake : The total number of seats for the undergraduate programmes in IIST for the year 2011 is 156. The branch-wise distribution of seats is as follows:
B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering: 59 seats
B.Tech. in Avionics: 58 seats
B.Tech. in Physical Sciences: 39 seats
Schedule of ISAT-2011 : The examination will be held on Saturday, 16th April, 2011 between 09:30 AM to 12:30 PM (IST)
(The schedule will remain unaltered even if the above date is declared a public holiday).
Type of Examination : The question paper will be of objective type and will consist of three separate sections on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The detailed syllabi based on which ISAT-2011 will be conducted, for the three subjects, namely, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics will be included in the ISAT – 2011 Brochure which will be available in ISAT-2011 webpage from 8th November, 2010.
How to Apply : Candidates can apply on-line only. The online application form will be available from 10:00 AM on 8th November 2010 to 11:30 PM on 31st December 2010 at the IIST website. Candidates will be guided at this stage about how to complete the application process, remit examination fee etc.
Examination Fee :
Student desirous of taking entrance test ISAT-2011 shall have to pay examination fee as under:
GEN/OBC male candidates: Rs.600
SC/ST/PD and all female candidates: Rs.300
Eligibility : Candidates must make sure that they satisfy all the eligibility conditions given below for appearing in ISAT-2011:
1. Citizenship : Only Indian citizens are eligible to write ISAT-2011.
2. Date of Birth : The date of birth of candidates belonging to GEN, OBC categories should be on or after October 1, 1986, while the date of birth of those belonging to SC, ST and PD categories should be on or after October 1, 1981. (The date of birth as recorded in the high school/first Board/ Pre-University certificate/or its equivalent will be accepted).
3. Year of passing Qualifying Examination (QE) : A candidate must have passed the QE ( 10 + 2 ) for the first time, in the calendar year 2010 or 2011. Those who are going to appear in the QE after July 1, 2011 or expecting the results of QE later than July 1, 2011 are not eligible to apply for ISAT-2011.
4. Minimum Percentage of Marks in Class X or equivalent examination : Candidates belonging to GEN and OBC categories must secure at least 70% marks in aggregate in their Class X or equivalent examination, while, those belonging to SC, ST and PD categories must secure at least 60% marks in aggregate in their Class X or equivalent examination.
5. Minimum Percentage of Marks in 10 + 2 or equivalent examination : Candidates belonging to GEN and OBC categories must secure at least 70% marks in the aggregate in their Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) papers in their QE, while, those belonging to SC,ST and PD categories must secure at least 60% marks in the aggregate in their PCM papers in their QE.

Selection Process for DA-IICT Ph.D
Candidates will be selected through an Entrance Test followed by an interview. The entrance test will be used to shortlist the candidates to be interviewed.
Candidates must submit a research statement of approximately 1000 words. A list of published papers if any could be included. The research statement will be discussed at the time of personal interview.
Candidates are advised to look at profile of several research groups available at DA-IICT. One can have a look at the individual research profile of the faculty members.
The Entrance Test will next be conducted on 1 December 2010 at DA-IICT, Gandhinagar. The interview of the short-listed candidates will be taken immediately after the entrance test.

Selection procedures
For M.D. and D.P.M. course
The selection will depend upon marks obtained in the entrance examination. The entrance test will be of MCQ type consisting of 100 questions to be answered in 60 minutes. There will be 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer. The test will have questions of MBBS standard in the following approximate distribution:
20% from Psychiatry and allied behavioural sciences
15% from Neurology
30% from General Medicine
35% from rest of Medical subjects.
For Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, M.Phil in Medical & Social Psychology, M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work also the entrance test will be of MCQ type consisting of 100 questions to be answered in 60 minutes, The test will have questions of M.A./M.Sc. standard. There will be 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer.
For Diploma in Psychiatric nursing course there shall not be a written entrance examination. However, there will be an interview for the selection of the candidates.
Candidates applying for both M.D. and D.P.M. and for both Ph.D. (Clinical Psychology) and M.Phil in Medical and Social Psychology courses starting from May 2, 2011 need to submit only one application each. They should clearly mention the names of the course applied for, in order of preference.
For MD (Psychiatry 3 Years Course) and Diploma in Psychological Medicine (PPM):- One year Rotating Internship to be completed by 15.02.2011
For MD (Post DPM. 2 Years Course), Ph.D.(Clinical Psychology, Post M.Phil 2 Years course) :- Certificate of passing DPM, M.Phil (M&SP/Clinical Psychology) on or before 31.5.2011.

For the D.P.N.:- 2 years working experience certificate as a staff nurse on or before 15.02.2011.
The candidates who do not fulfill above criteria need not apply. The number of seats in each discipline is subject to change without assigning any reason.
15%. 71/2% and 27% seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste. Scheduled Tribe and QBC candidates respectively subject to availability of such candidates. There shall also be reservation of 3% horizontal reservation for physically handicapped persons {only for locomotorv disabilities of lower limbs between 50% to 70% or as per the Govt, of India

Details of research experience, if any, in the form of research publications in peer-reviewed journals or research papers presented in scientific conferences may be attached on separate sheet(s) of paper. Reprints of research papers may also be attached.
