Eligibility: Eligibility conditions for seeking admission to B. A. (Hons.) Journalism

1. The candidate should have either passed or appeared in the Senior Secondary School Examination of CBSE or any other examination considered equivalent by the University of Delhi. The candidate should secure an aggregate of at least 70% marks in his/her class XII examination (65% for SC, ST, CW and PWD categories) in best of four papers including English and three other academic subjects as specified by the University of Delhi*. The candidate should also have secured at least 60% marks in English.

* List of academic subjects as specified by the University of Delhi. All academic subjects specified by Delhi University Admission Bulletin, except fashion studies, shall be taken into consideration for calculating the best four. Academic subjects are: Hindi Core, English Core, Hindi Elective, English Elective/Functional English, Other languages, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering Drawing, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Fine Arts, Agriculture, Computer Science, Informatics Practices, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, Physical Education, Music, Dance, Entrepreneurship, Biotechnology, Web and Multi-Media Technology. No vocational subject will be taken for calculation in the best four. If a student has both English core and English Elective/Functional English both could be considered while calculating the best four.

2. The candidate should have obtained pass mark in each of the four papers considered for computing the aggregate in the above mentioned subjects.

3. The candidate must produce the confirmed result and mark sheet of the qualifying examination on the day of the Personal Interview to be eligible for the process of admission to the Journalism course. Candidates who do not have the confirmed mark sheet will not be entertained under any circumstances.

4. The reserved category certificates of OBC (of Central List & non creamy layer), SC, ST, PWD, and CW, as applicable, in the name of the candidate, must be produced on the day of the interview.

5. Compartment cases of current year will not be considered for admission.

6. Candidates who have appeared in the class XII examination in 2011 and who repeat a paper for improvement to gain eligibility shall not be considered for admission in the current year.

7. Foreign nationals seeking admission to B. A. (Hons.) Journalism against the prescribed quota of seats earmarked for them, shall have to apply through the Foreign Students Advisor, C/o Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, Delhi - 110 007 and are exempted from the written examination and Interview.

8. Those foreign students who have acquired their minimum qualification for admission from any Indian Board, in India have to apply directly as General category candidate. They have to appear for the entrance test like general category candidates and follow the same selection process as applicable to general category and in addition fill up the foreign student application form of FSR office (downloadable from: www.du.ac.in/forms/foreignstudents1.pdf. All admission of foreign students are channeled through the Foreign Students Registry (FSR) office of University of Delhi.



Selection Process

1. Written Joint Entrance Test

Applicants shall be called for an objective type multiple choice as well as subjective type test which shall be held in Delhi.

The written examination is designed to test the aptitude of the candidates to pursue the B.A. (Hons.) Journalism course. There is no prescribed syllabus or format for the entrance examination. The following areas have been usually included in the entrance examination in the past.

1. Objective multiple choice questions on

o General Awareness

o Current Affairs

2. Subjective

o Language/Writing Skills

o Book/Film review

o Critical analysis of contemporary media

o Comments/ essay on contemporary issues

The test shall be of 2:30 hours duration, extra time will be given to the candidates for filling up details on test booklet and answer sheet, marking attendance, verification of candidates’ documents, distribution, and collection of test material etc. The candidate should report at their respective examination centres latest by 9 am on the day of the test. The examination will start at 9:30 am and the booklet will be collected at 12:00 noon. The test booklet will have both the subjective and objective questions. There will be space specified in the booklet itself to answer the subjective questions. Since the candidates will have to answer the objective questions on the OMR sheet they should bring pencils and erasers with themselves and follow the instructions accordingly. The scheme of examination may be changed on the recommendation of the admission committee.

The subjective part of the booklet will be evaluated only of those candidates/examinee who obtain qualifying marks in the objective test as decided by the admission committee.

2. Interview: Candidates shall be called for the interview based on the performance in the written test and Class XII marks.

3. Final selection: Final Selection will be made for all categories on the following basis:

4. Counseling and Admission of candidates: The candidates shall be allotted the respective colleges as per their merit and the choice of preference given at the time of counseling. Candidates offered admission are required to deposit the course fees (as applicable) on the same day or as per the allocated time along with their documents in their respective college, failing which his/her candidature will be cancelled. Candidates who do not take admission during the stipulated time lose the right of admission to the college. Candidates not present when called to the counseling will not be entertained later. At the second and third counseling, admitted candidates will be permitted a change of college subject to availability of seats. To avail any change in their college preference, the candidate should have necessarily deposited fees and fulfilled the remaining admission formalities by the allocated time in their respective college, failing which the candidate loses right to admission as well as a right to exercise any choice later.Right to exercise choice for admission and any change of preference for college will be offered to only those candidates who are present on all the days of counseling specified for their ranks. In case the candidate is unable to be present on the day of counseling an authorized representative of the candidate can exercise the preference for college and meet other admission requirements. An application to this effect signed by the candidate should be submitted to the admission committee.

5. A mobile phone number is desirable. Notice will also be sent through SMS on the mobile phone if you so desire.

Selection :
Strictly on the basis of merit.
A Rank list will be prepared on the basis of index mark obtained with 50:50 weightage for the percentage marks obtained in the Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination – 2011, and percentage marks obtained for PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) in 12th Standard. The branch will be allotted based on the rank, preference and availability of seats at the time of interview. The rank list along with the details of marks of all eligible applicants will be displayed in the college website.

Minimum Eligibility:

A pass in Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education of Kerala or an examination recognized equivalent thereto with at least 50% marks in Mathematics as stipulated by M G University. However average 70% marks for PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) in 12th standard is desirable.
He/She shall be qualified in Kerala Engineering Entrance Exam 2011 for all seats other than NRI Quota.
Govt. Quota Seats:
50% of the seats are reserved as Government quota. This will be allotted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE), Govt. of Kerala.

Full Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme:
The AICTE approved Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme is implemented in the college. Accordingly, students with high academic results and hailing from economically backward families are granted full tuition fee concession. The selection is made purely on the basis of Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination rank list and family income.
In addition, the Management offers full tuition fee waiver for meritorious students who secure ranks upto 3000 admitted through Govt. Quota.


MBA

Course:-
Two year full-time MBA programme with specilisation in Finance, Marketing and Human Resource Management.

M.Tech Degree Programme in Computer Science & Information system is offered by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering.
M.Tech in Communication Engineering is offered by the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering.
The Course leading to the degree of Master of Technology will span a period of four semesters (2 Years). The span of a semester will be six months including the university examination.

1. Curriculum
The curriculum comprises a full time course of study as per the scheme and syllabi approved by M G University. The students have to undertake a suitable project work in consultation with the concerned Department and submit the project report at the end of the respective semesters, on or before the dates announced by the college/department.

2. Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility will be subject to the rules and regulations of Mahatma Gandhi University and AICTE.

The candidates shall have acquired the prescribed qualification from an institution approved by the AICTE and MG University.
Candidates with:
i. Valid Gate score.
ii. For M Tech in CSIS : At least 60% marks in BE/B Tech in CSE/IT or MCA.
iii. For M.Tech in CE : At least 60% marks in BE/B Tech in ECE.
Non GATE candidates have to appear for a test/interview conducted by the concerned Department.
For SC/ST candidates, a pass in the above mentioned degree is sufficient.
Candidates who have degrees awarded from universities other than MG University shall submit Eligibility Certificate from Mahatma Gandhi University as well as Migration Certificate at the time of admission.
3. Procedure for Selection

The selection of the candidate will be based on the valid GATE score.
If sufficient GATE qualified candidates are not available, the selection will be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and the test/interview conducted by the college.

M.Phil Admissions 2011-2012

Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal has invited applications for one year M.Phil. programme in Natural Resource Management (Award of degree by Saurashtra University, Rajkot) commencing from September, 2011.

Eligibility:
Candidates must have a Post Graduate Degree/Diploma or its equivalent, recognized by an Indian University or Association of Indian Universities with the minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC-Non creamy/PD) in aggregate in the field of Science/Engineering/ Management and related Social sciences (as decided by equivalence committee of the Institute). For in-service officers, the application should be forwarded through proper channel which will be screened at the Institute for direct interview. Candidates possessing UGC/CSIR/ICAR-NET certificate or PGDFM from IIFM with a minimum of 3.0 OGPA shall also be exempted from written test and be directly called for interview. Others have to qualify a written test conducted by the Institute. The cutoff score of the test will be decided by the Institute and shall have three components namely English ability, analytical ability and Natural Resource Management aptitude.

The total cost of the programme is Rs. 1,50,000/-.

Tamilnadu SET/ SLET ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

I) Only those Candidates who have completed / are pursuing PG degree are eligible to appear in SET. Others need not apply.

ii) Candidates who have secured atleast 55% marks (without grace or rounding off) in Master's Degree (or) equivalent examination are eligible forthis test. The Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribes (ST) / Physically Challenged (PC) / Visually Challenged (VC) category candidates who have secured atleast 50% marks (without grace or rounding off) in Master's Degree Examination are eligible for this Examination.

iii) Candidates who have appeared (or) will be appearing at the qualifying Master's Degree Examination and whose result is still awaited (or) candidates whose examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for award of Lectureship eligibility only after they have passed their Master's Degree examination (or) equivalent with atleast 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PC/VC category candidates). Such candidates must obtain theirP.G. degree Marksheet within two years from the date of SET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they will be treated as disqualified.

iv) The Ph.D degree holders whose Master's level examination had been completed by 19" September 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for relaxation of 5% of marks from 55% to 50% to appear in SET Examination.

v) Candidates have to appear for SET in the subject of their Post Graduation only.

vi) CANDIDATES SHOULD NOTE THAT THEIR CANDIDATURE IS PROVISIONAL. THE MERE FACT THAT AN ADMISSION CARD HAS BEEN ISSUED TO A CANDIDATE WILL NOT IMPLY THAT THE UNIVERSITY HAS FINALLY ACCEPTED HIS/HER CANDIDATURE. CANDIDATE MAY NOTE THAT THEIR CANDIDATURE WILL BE DEEMED FINAL UPON VERIFICATION OF ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS.


vii) The UGC is considering the OBC candidates as per the Central List of 'Government of India' for giving relaxation in NET Examinations. Further, it has been decided that for SET Examinations, which are valid within the respective state, OBC candidates as per the List maintained by the respective state, may also be allowed to be eligible for relaxation in qualifying marks
in SET examination, in addition to the OBC candidates as per the 'Central List' maintained by Govt, of India.

viii) Candidates seek concession in fee are required to submit attested copy of their OBC/SC/ST/PC/VC certificate along with their Application Forms. Other candidates are not required to submit any certificates/documents in support of their eligibility along with printout of their Application Form. Therefore, the candidates, in their own interest, must satisfy themselves about their eligibility for the Test. In the event of any ineligibility being detected by the university at any stage, their candidature will be cancelled and they shall be liable for legal action.

AGE LIMIT: No Upper age limit


Tamilnadu SET EXEMPTION (ELIGIBILITY FOR LECTORESHIP)

I) NET/SLET/SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in Universities/Colleges/institutions. Provided however, that candidates, who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulation, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/ Colleges/Institution, ii) For SET Candidates: The candidates who have cleared the State Eligibility Test (SET) accredited by UGC for eligibility for Lectureship held prior to 1st June 2002 onwards, the qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the post of lecturer only in the universities/colleges belonging to the state from where they have cleared their SET.


Tamilnadu SET EXAMINATION FEE AND MODE OF PAYMENT

For General Candidate, the examination fee Is Rs. 1000/-, for Other backward classes the fee is Rs.750/- and Rs.250/- for SC/ST/Physically Challenged/Visually Challenged. The fee should be paid in the form of a single crossed bank demand draft from any Nationalised Bank with six months validity drawn in favour of The Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore-641046 payable at Coimbatore. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

SCHEME AND DATE OF TEST of Tamilnadu SET 2011
I) The test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will be held on Sunday, 14.08.2011 in two separate sessions as mentioned below.

First I 100 Marks 09.30 A.M. to 10.45 A.M.
First II 100 Marks 10.45A.M.to12.00Noon
Second III 100 Marks 01.30 P.M. to 04.00 P.M

Paper-I will be of general nature intended to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of the candidates. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidates. Paper-I shall consist of sixty (60) multiple choice questions of two marks each, out of which the candidate would be required to answer only fifty (50). In the event of the candidate attempting more than fifty questions, the first fifty questions attempted by the candidate would be evaluated.

Paper-ll shall consist of 50 compulsory objective type questions. The candidate will have to mark their responses for questions of paper-l and paper-ll on the optical mark reader (OMR) sheet provided along with the test booklet. Paper-Ill will consist of only descriptive questions from the syllabus of the subject selected by the candidates. The Candidates will be required to write answers in the space provided in the test booklet.
A candidate who does not appear in Paper I will not be permitted to appear in paper II and paper III. Paper III will be evaluated only for those candidates who are able to secure the minimum qualifying marks in Paper -1 and Paper - II as decided by the appropriate authority.

ii) Paper-III will be evaluated only for those candidates who are able to secure the minimum qualifying marks in paper-l and Paper-II


Syllabus for Tamilnadu SET Exam for Lectireship:

Question paper for Paper I is common for all the subjects in which SET is conducted and it will be bi- lingual (English and Tamil). Paper II and Paper III of certain subjects will also be bi-lingual and details are furnished below. The syllabus for Paper I, Paper 11 and Paper 111 will not be sent to the candidates by the University. How to Apply for Tamilnadu SET ?

Candidates seeking admission to the test must apply in the prescribed application form (one copy only) as given in the advertisement. Application form along with the Admission card, Attendance slip and Computer coding sheet may be taken from the advertisement and neatly typed on white paper (A-3 size) in double space and on one side of the paper only. There is no objection to candidates using printed Application Form, if available from private agencies but they should ensure that its format is exactly same as published by the University in its advertisement. The application not in the prescribed format will be rejected. Bharathiar University shall not issue application form for the SET examination and any request in this regard shall not be entertained.
