Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to
(1) M.A., degree course in Bharathanatyam (2 years) and
(2) M.A., degree course in Rhythomology (2 years)
under private study (CBCS pattern) for the academic year 2012-2013 in the University Department of Music.

M.A., degree course in Bharathanatyam (2 years) & M.A., in Rhythmology (2years) under Private Study (CBCS pattern) in the Department of Indian Music.

Eligibility for admission into M.A.,in Bharathanatyam :
1. B.A.,/B.Sc.,/B.Com./ or any other degree of the University of Madras or any degree recognized as
equivalent thereto by the Syndicate of the university of Madras.
AND
5 years of performance (or)5 years of teaching (or) Diploma in Dance of Madras University
(or) any other Diploma accepted as equivalent thereto by the Syndicate.
Minimum Age Limit: Candidates who have completed 21 years of age as on 1st July of every year In which the candidate submits the application.

Fee structure: Rs.25000/- for 2 years

The candidate has to put in 30 days of attendance per year.

Eligibility for admission into M.A., Rhythmology :
Any degree of the University of Madras or any degree recognized as equivalent thereto by the Syndicate of University of Madras and 5 years of performance (or)5 years of teaching (or) any degree recognized as equivalent thereto.

Minimum Age Limit: Candidates who have completed 21 years of age as on 1st July of every year in which the candidate submits the application.

Fee structure will be same as in the regular course offered in the Department of Indian Music.

The minimum period of attendance is 30 days in an academic year.

Indian Music, University of Madras, Chennai – 600 005.

ISSUE OF APPLICATION IN PERSON : Application can be had in person at the Information Centre, University of Madras, Chennai – 600 005 on payment of Rs.200/- (Rs.100/- for SC/ST candidates on production of attested photo copy of the Community certificate) by cash.

ISSUE OF APPLICATION BY POST : Those who want to obtain application by post have to send a written
requisition specifying the name of the programme together with a Demand Draft for a sum of Rs.250/- for Rs.200/-towards cost of application and Rs.50/- towards postage) drawn in favour of “The Registrar,
University of Madras, Chennai-5”.

Application can also be downloaded from the University website at www.unom.ac.in However, the cost  of application for Rs.200/- bye means of Demand Draft shall be enclosed, failing which the application will be summarily rejected.

Last date for issue and submission of filled in application : 30-10.2012.

Applications on prescribed forms are invited for admission to M Phil. Programme in the Department of Environmental Sciences for the Session 2012-13. It is a two semester full time course. The candidates who have passed M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences with minimum of 55% marks arc eligible for admission.

Application forms for admission to Ph. D. course, 2012 are invited. DISTANCE COURSES  OFFERED
Courses: The following Courses are offered under distance mode.

(i) International Post Graduate Diploma in Life Insurance(IPGDLI)

(ii) International Post Graduate Diploma in General Insurance(IPGDGI)

(iii) International Post Graduate Diploma in Risk Management (IPGDRM)

Duration : of each of the above three Courses is one year – Two Semesters, each of about 16 weeks duration.

Eligibility: (i) Employed professionals with minimum Graduate Degree in any discipline (including Engg and Management) from a  recognised university/Institute with at least 50% marks. Candidates with professional qualifications like CA, ICWAI, CS are also eligible.

(ii)  Self employed  Graduates of any discipline (with minimum 50% marks) and  aged 30 years and above may also be considered for admission

(iii)   Employment is an essential criteria for admission. Employed   candidates will be considered only if their applications are   forwarded by their Employers.

Note: A. Those having Post-graduate qualification or additional degree with more than 50% will be considered even if such candidates secure less than 50% in the first degree.

B. In case of Sponsored candidates and those working in financial sector (like Banks, Mutual funds, insurance companies) the restriction of acquiring 50% in Graduation is waived.

Study Material: Every student admitted to a Course is provided with study material for each Subject. In addition a list of reference books may also be suggested.

Contact Classes: Students will be provided with opportunity of contact classes on the dates notified  for the subjects offered during that Semester. For this purpose students have to register their names in advance  Outstation students have to make their own arrangements for their stay and travel.

Examinations: Held at the end of each semester at Hyderabad. Duration of each paper is 3 hours

Maximum Period for Completion of Course: A student who is admitted to a distance course should pass all subjects and obtain Diploma  within a period of three years, counting from the year of his enrolment, after which his admission gets automatically lapsed.

Jurisdiction: All disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Hyderabad.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Step 1Admissions are open into IPGD Distance Learning programme with effect from 1st September 2012. Candidates desirous of getting admitted to the distance Courses of the Institute are advised to go through the information provided on the website and satisfy themselves before applying for admission. They  have to download the Application from the Institute’s website:www.iirmworld.org.in  / Distance learning. No separate application will be provided by the office.

Step 2:Completed Applications are to be duly  forwarded by their Employers (this is not required for self employed category of candidates) or without diluting the stipulation, the candidates can produce satisfactory proof of employment which may be accepted by IIRM, to the Institute  by courier / registered post with copies of all certificates and Demand Draft for Rs. 337/- (application fee Rs.300/- and Rs.37/- towards service tax @ 12.36%) on or before November 30th , 2012. Applications received after the due date and incomplete / defective applications without registration fees will not be entertained. Foreign / NRI candidates have to obtain Demand Draft for US $ 34/- (application fee USD.30/- and USD.4/- towards service tax) on or before November 30th , 2012 towards Registration Fee.

Step 3: Candidates selected based on their educational qualifications and experience will be informed normally within 10 days after the closing date.

INTER UNIVERSITY ACCELERATOR CENTRE Advertisement No: 07/2012 Ph.D PROGRAMME FOR CSIR-UGC NET (JRF) QUALIFIED


Inter University Accelerator Centre is an Inter University user facility under UGC for accelerator based research mainly in areas of Nuclear Physics, Material Science, Atomic Physics, Radiation Biology, BioMaterials, Radiation Physics and Accelerator Physics. Details of the facilities are available in web site www.iuac.res.in.  

A walk in interview is being arranged for CSIRUGC NET (JRF) qualified students (2011 or later) with M. Sc in Physics/Biology/Life Science (2011 or later) at Inter University Accelerator Centre on 3rd November, 2012 at 10:00 AM. The candidates must bring a copy of his/her biodata along with copies of mark sheets and the letter regarding NET qualification.

The selected students will be required to join immediately in the Ph.D. Programme in Nuclear Physics, Atomic Physics, Material Science, Radiation Biology, BioMaterials, Radiation Physics and Accelerator Physics. The Students is expected to finish Ph.D with in four years from the date of joining. Selected candidates will be provided free hostel accommodation and fellowship as per CSIR/UGC norms.

IUAC also invites applications for appointment of one JRF for a period of three years leading to Ph.D under a DST funded experimental research project “Optical Spectroscopy of ionatom/molecules/solid/collisions relevant to astrophysics”. Besides the above qualifications NET/LS candidates are also eligible under project JRF.

Eligibility: A Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate or in major subject from a recognized Indian or foreign university / institution. Students in their final
year of degree courses and expecting to submit the proof of passing the qualifying examination with required
percentage of marks by November 15, 2013 may also apply.

Selection: Candidates should appear in either Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) to be held between October 11, 2012 to November 06, 2012 or Management
Aptitude Test (MAT) to be conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA) on December 02, 2012. No other MAT score will be accepted. Candidate must include Tezpur University as a choice in the CAT voucher or the MAT application form.
