This 3-month full time program will provide intensive training for medical professionals to acquire skills for occupational health practice. The course contents and curricula have been framed as per guidelines issued by the Academic Council of AFIH, Industrial Medicine Division, Central Labour Institute, DGFASLI, Mumbai. The training will prepare candidates for the qualifying examination to be conducted by the Examination Board of DGFASLI at the end of the 3 month period and successful candidates will be awarded a post graduate certificate entitled “ASSOCIATE FELLOW OF INDUSTRIAL HEALTH” which will fulfill the requirements in terms of additional qualification of Factory Medical Officers of Hazardous Process Industries as required under the Factories (Amendment) Act, 1987. This academic year the program will be administered between December 2, 2013 and February 28th, 2014.

The program is administered by The Department of Environmental Health Engineering, Sri Ramachandra University with faculty who are well recognized for research and training at the national and international levels. The department is equipped with state-of-the-art occupational health, industrial hygiene and safety laboratory as well as an extensive library. Multi?disciplinary research projects, industry linkages and national/international partnerships will provide additional exposure on national /global occupational and environmental issues as well as project opportunities for students.

Sri Ramachandra University provides a vibrant student atmosphere with nearly 3400 students enrolled in a range of medical, dental, nursing and allied health sciences programs at the undergraduate, post-graduate and doctoral levels. Dedicated research and sophisticated instrumentation facilities, extensive central library resources and a large 1640-bedded multi-specialty hospital support all academic programs. The lush campus spread over an area of 150 acres provides a range of student facilities including hostel accommodations.

Eligibility for Admission:
1. MBBS Degree from an Institution recognized by the Medical Council of India.
2. Completion of Internship.
3. Permanent Registration with the Medical Council of India/State Medical Council.
4. A minimum of 1 year experience as full-time Medical Officer in an industrial Occupational Health facility or 2 years in general practice, after the date of completion of internship.

Selection: Eligible candidates will be admitted after an interview, on the basis of recommendations made by the interview panel. The candidates should bring all the original certificates and documents at the time of admission for verification.

Tuition Fee: Rs. 36,500/- including ACLS training (Rs. 30,000/- for candidates already possessing valid ACLS certification) should be paid by Demand Draft drawn (on or after 02nd September, 2013) in favour of “Sri Ramachandra University”, payable at Chennai.

They will be provisionally admitted, subject to the production of provisional certificate/consolidated mark sheet th as proof of fulfilling the prescribed eligibility criteria before 30 October of the year of admission, failing which provisional admission granted will be cancelled and the fee will not be refunded.

FOREIGN NATIONALS
Admission of foreign nationals is decided in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Government of India from time to time.

ENROLLMENT NUMBER
Enrollment Number assigned to each student at the time of admission is unique. All the subsequent communication with the admitted student shall bear the reference to the Enrollment Number. Letters received without Enrollment Number will not be entertained.

IDENTITY CARD
On admission, students will be issued an Identity Card by the Directorate. The Identity Card should be kept by the students safely till the completion of the program.

CHANGE OF COURSE
Change of course will not be entertained in any case. Candidates seeking admission to the various courses are requested to choose the program of study with utmost care.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR SC/ST STUDENTS
The SC/ST students admitted into the DDE programs can avail various scholarships of the respective State/UT Governments.


STUDY MATERIAL
Study material will be sent to students by Registered Parcel or by Express Parcel Service.
Students should make their own arrangements for collecting the study material in case they are not available at the address given.

PERSONAL CONTACT PROGRAM (PCP) CLASSES: for all MBA programmes & PG Diplomas (Except MBA Hospital Management) PCP Classes Attendance is optional.
However, A total of 40 hours of PCP classes are organized per semester by the DDE at various centres across the country on four weekends in November/ May.
It is the prerogative of the DDE to identify the centres for PCPs based on the enrolment of students from a specific region.
Individual communication will be sent to the students in advance. (Please refer the DISTANCE EDUCATION link of the Pondicherry University Website for updates on PCPs).
In case the PCP is not conducted in the centre opted by the student, he/she may attend PCP at any of the centres where PCP is conducted.
Those who are not able to attend the program at the Centres opted by them, may attend the classes at any one of the centres where PCP is conducted.

Personal Contact Classes for MBA Hospital Management :
a) PCP classes for I & II semester will be conducted with other MBA programmes.
b) A total of 30 days PCP classes for III and IV semester will be conducted only in Puducherry.
c) 75% attendance is mandatory for each III and IV semester PCP classes.

It may be noted that usually PCP classes / Exams are organized at the following centres depending on the enrolment of the students.
PCP classes for I & III Semesters will be conducted in November/December and for II & IV Semesters in April/May.

NOTIFICATION

As per GO(Rt) No.2238/2013/H&FWD dated: 25.06.2013, the Government have amended the Prospectus for admission to Post Graduate Super Speciality Courses-2013 to the extent that candidates with PG qualification in Respiratory Medicine can opt for D.M. Cardiology as well along with D.M. Pulmonary Medicine. In light of this, fresh applications are invited from candidates with PG qualification in Respiratory Medicine who can apply online in the official website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations www.cee.kerala.gov.inup to 5 pm, On 02.07.2013.
Candidates should apply online, take the printout of the online application and send it to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, Vth Floor, Santhi Nagar, Thiruvananthapuram-695 001, Before 5 pm On 02.07.2013 along with all required documents mentioned in the Prospectus and as per the Instructions given in the website.
Service candidates should in addition send a copy of the application to the Controlling Officer concerned (DME/DHS) Before 5 pm On02.07.2013.

IMPORTANT: Candidates with PG qualification in Respiratory Medicine alone can submit fresh applications.

ELIGIBILITY TO APPEAR IN UPSEE-2013 (Details of eligibility are available In Information Brochure):-
1. For admission to the first year of B.Tech./ B.Tech. (Ag. Engg.)/ B.Pharm./ BHMCT/ BFAD candidate must have passed
intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board / University as given in Information brochure of UPSEE-2013. The candidate must have clearly passed with minimum 45% marks for General & OBC and 40% for SC/ST candidates in aggregate in the subject groups mentioned in the information Brochure UPSEE-2013 without grace marks.
2. For admission to the first year of B.Arch., a candidate must have passed intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board / University; securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate. The candidate is essentially required to pass in each subject of the compulsory and optional subjects mentioned in the information Brochure of UPSEE-2013 without grace marks.
A candidate possessing three year Diploma in Architecture (10+3) recognized by Central/ State Govt., securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate is also eligible for admission to the first year of B. Arch. only.The candidates will have to appear in the Entrance Examination UPSEE-2013for admission to firstyear of B. Arch, (paper-4) as mentioned above.
3. For admission to the first year of MBA course, candidate must have passed bachelor's degree course of minimum three year duration from any recognized university of India. The candidate must have clearly passed without grace marks with an aggregate of minimum 50% marks for General & OBC and 45% for SC/ST candidates.
4. For admission to the first year of MCA, candidate must have passed bachelor's degree course of minimum three years duration from any recognized university with Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level or graduate level. The candidate must have clearly passed without grace marks with an aggregate of minimum 50% marks for General & OBC and 45% for SC/ST candidates.
5. For admission to first year of MAM course (Dual degree), a candidate must have passed Intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level of examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board/University and securing minimum 45% marks without grace (40% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate.
6. For admission to the second year (lateral entry) of B.Tech., the candidate must have passed three years Diploma in Engineering course; securing minimum 45% for General & OBC (40% In case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) marks In aggregate or three years B.Sc. degree and passed XII standard with Mathematics as one subject; securing minimum 45% for General & OBC (40% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) marks in aggregate in B.Sc. as per details provided in the brochure.
7. For admission to the second year (lateral entry) of B.Pharm., the candidate must have passed Diploma in Pharmacy course; securing minimum 45% for General & OBC (40% In case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) marks In aggregate as perdetails provided in the brochure.
8. The candidates appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to appear in State Entrance Examination-2013 subject to the condition that they must fulfill the eligibility criteria at the time of counseling.
9. The details of admissions for NRI and Kashmiri migrants will be published later, in the month of May, 2013 according to the norms to be laid down by the Govtof U.P./AIGTE.Such candidates need not appear in UPSEE-2013.
10. State Govt, has permitted 20% of total sanctioned seats available in Private Institutions to be filled up on the basis of JEE-MAINS-2013 merit for admissions to Engineering & Technology / Architecture courses. Out of which 10% seats will be filled by U. P. domicile candidates on U.P. State merit using State reservation policy, and the remaining of 10% seats will be filled through Al I India Merit Candidates without reservation subject to the eligibility conditions given in the brochure.
11. State Govt, has also permitted 20% of total sanctioned seats available for admission for MBA course in Private Institutions to be filled on the basis of CMAT-2013 merit (Common Management Admission Test) subject to the eligibility conditions given in the brochure through CMAT-2013.


COST OF BROCHURE and OMR APPLICATION FORM/ONLINE APPLICATION INCLUSIVE OF EXAM FEE: Rs. 1000.00 for General / OBC candidates & Rs. 500.00 for SC/ST and Female candidates of all categories.
For admission to B.Tech., B.Tech. (Ag. Engg.), B.Tech. (Bio-Tech.)/B.Pharm7 BHMCT/BFAD/B.Tech. (Second year Lateral Entry) courses the application form may be filled online or through OMR Application form.
