PROGRAMME
The IIFM stands in a position to meet the requirements of the changing scenario in the forestry, environment, development, and allied sectors. It is constantly striving to update itself and accordingly respond to the needs of all concerned stakeholders. Given the emerging, and much-needed, emphasis on environmental sustainability, climate change, carbon trading, green finance, corporate social environmental responsibility, biodiversity conservation and natural resource management, IIFM suitably modifies its focus, activity frame and course structure to successfully meet these needs. All these activities not only require man power, possessing a desired blend of skills pertaining to forestry, environment & development with management science but also need the professional assistance and guidance for capacity building, project implementation and monitoring. Therefore, IIFM through its educational, training, research and consultancy activities has planned to endeavor to meet this emerging need.
Accordingly, a Doctoral level Programme titled the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) for people who need specialized knowledge, skills, and attitudes for positions requiring conceptual and visioning skills. The Fellow Programme is an important step in that direction. The FPM is approved by AICTE.
The FPM is a doctoral program designed to develop and equip students for career opportunity in management education and research in the following faculty areas of specialization:

· Ecosystem and Environment Management
· Environment and Developmental Economics
· Financial Management
· Human Resource Management
· Information Technology and Quantitative Techniques
· Marketing Management
· Sociology and Community Development
· Technical Forestry
Objectives
The main objectives of the FPM are:
(i) To develop researchers and scholars in the field of management;
(ii) To create a body of knowledge; and
(iii) To stimulate research / action research work in Natural Resource Management.
FPM Eligibility and Admission Procedure:
Eligibility
Candidates must not be more than 45 year as on 1st July 2012 and must qualify the following eligibility tracks :
1. A Bachelors Degree with atleast 50 percent marks, and
2. Masters degree (minimum two years prescribed duration after 10+2+3 years of formal education) in relevant discipline (relevancy has to be decided by the IIFM) with at least 55% marks including Five year/Four year Integrated masters Degree programme and with good academic records.

4 year/8 Semester B.Tech/B.E with60% Marks or Equivalent OGPA.

Professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS with atleast 55% marks.

For IIFM Graduates, who have done PGDFM and IIM graduates who have done PGDM, the minimum OGPA of 3.00 in 4.33 maximum scale, is required.

For MRM Post graduates from IIFM, with 3.00 CGPA.
Note: For those qualifications where the above 4.33 scale is not available, the eligibility will be decided by the Equivalence Committee constituted by the Director, IIFM and its decision will be final.
Admission Procedure
Selection of candidates is through a two-stage process.
A. Screening test
Eligible candidates with any one of the following score will be called directly for Group Discussion and Personal Interview :-
i) IIM CAT/GMAT(scores of two years old with required cut off) as decided by the IIFM
ii) UGC-CSIR-JRF/NET (scores not older than five years) in relevant area of specialisation.
iii) GATE (scores not older than five years)
iv) ICAR NET (scores not older than 5 years)
v) FRI entrance test for PhD (two years old)
vi) Candidates who have already obtained a PGDFM/PGDM from IIFM/IIM with a minimum of OGPA of 3.00
vii) Candidates who have obtained MRM from IIFM with 3.00 CGPA.
viii) All India and allied services officers, officers in scale II of Nationalized Bank, officers of equivalent rank of PSU
Candidates who fulfil the required eligibility given above and do not have any of the above qualifying tests, but have five years experience post their respective eligible degree will have to qualify the internal test designed by IIFM for the GD and PI.
B. Interview and Personal Discussion
A. Candidate will be called to Bhopal for interview and personal discussion, as per the screening criteria decided by the IIFM.
B. Final selection will be based on criteria as decided from time to time by the Institute.
C. The students will be admitted in a specific area of specialization related to the existing faculty areas of the Institute.
D. At present maximum eight students can be admitted each year.

Financial Assistance
A) Monthly Fellowship
Each student would be given a monthly fellowship of Rs. 12,000/- in first and second year , Rs. 14,000/- in third and fourth year and for extended one year (if applicable) during the program.
This assistance is not available to the sponsored candidates. In case of candidates who will be getting salary from sponsorer, if the salary is less than the prescribed monthly fellowship, then the difference can be made good from fellowship provisions.
B) Contingency Grant
The students would also be provided (on reimbursable basis) with a contingency grant up to Rs. 20,000/- per year for all the four years (three years for IIFM graduates) for purchasing relevant books, journals, stationery, computer accessories, academic tour and travels, photocopying expenses etc.
The unspent amount of the contingency grant in any year may be carried forward till the end of the fourth year.
C) General
The students cannot take any other financial benefits from IIFM, like research projects or centers of the IIFM or from outside.
The student is required to sign a bond with the IIFM that if he/she discontinues the Fellow programme for any reason, then the entire amount of fellowship and contingency amount received shall be refunded by them.
Hostel and Alumni Membership Fees
The students have to pay hostel rent (if hostel facility is provided), mess charges and alumni membership as decided by the IIFM from time to time. The mess charges will be on actual basis. Presently, the mess is run by the students themselves.

Criteria for Selection
Admission into all MPhil courses shall be done through an entrance test followed by an interview. The Test shall comprise of one paper of 100 marks (50 marks Objective Type Questions and 50 marks for short-answer type questions) of two hour duration. The Question Paper shall cover all the papers taught at the Post-Graduate level of the concerned subject of Berhampur University. However, for admission into MPhil Course for Women’s Studies the course will cover broad areas relating to Women’s Studies. The candidates should secure minimum 50% of marks in the entrance test (40% of marks for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) in order to be eligible to appear at the interview. The selection for admission into MPhil Courses shall be made on the basis of the career marks and the marks secured in the interview.
