All commissioned officers with a minimum of five years of commissioned service of bachelor degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks or must have undergone successfully i.e. NDA/IMA/Any other equivalent course viz O.T.S./O.T.A/Indian Air Force Academy/Naval Academy, and at least one of the following courses:
Defence Service Staff College, Technical Staff Officers, Long Defence Management, Senior Defence Management, Higher Command, Advanced Air Armament Staff Officer, specialized advanced course of various arms and services with a meritorious record of service
In case of vacant seats in any category, the seats may be shifted from one category to another with the permission of the Head of the department.
