M.Sc.(Food Technology) Admission 2010

Applications are invited for 2 year M.Sc. (Food Technology) Degree Course of the University of Mysore for the years 2010-12.

Eligibility: Bachelor Degree in Science with Chemistry/Biochemistry as one of the subjects or Agriculture / Engineering / Technology. Mathematics as one of the subjects in Plus 2 or Pre University or at Degree level is compulsory for admission.

Minimum Marks Requirement:
(i) 55% in optional subjects of B.Sc. pass course, (50% for SC/ST category)
(ii) 50% for B.Sc.(Hons.) course (45% for SC/ST category)
(iii) Minimum second class for Agriculture / Engineering / Technology

Entrance/Aptitude Test: Students who meet the eligibility criteria are required to take an entrance / aptitude test which will be held at Mysore and New Delhi on July 18, 2010.
Reservation: For SC / ST / OBC and Persons with physical disabilities – Applicable for admission to the course as per the Government Orders in this regard. Candidates claiming reservation under the specific category are to provide attested documents as proof in support of their claims.

Fellowships 2011 at Houghton Library, USA


Houghton Library is the principal rare book and manuscript library of Harvard College. The Library’s holdings are particularly strong in the following areas: European, English, American, and South American literature, including the country’s pre-eminent collection of American literary manuscripts; philosophy; religion; history of science; music; printing and graphic arts; dance; and theatre. Fellows will also have access to collections in Widener Library as well as to other libraries at the University.

Preference is given to scholars whose research is closely based on materials in Houghton collections, especially when those materials are unique; fellowships are normally not granted to scholars who live within commuting distance of the library. Each fellow is expected to be in residence at Houghton for at least four weeks during the period from July 2011 through June 2012 (these do not have to be consecutive weeks). The stipend for each fellowship is $3,000. Other than the Pantzer Fellowship, applicants need not apply for specific fellowships, as the Selection Committee would determine which fellowship is best suited to your research.
