Degree of Master of Engineering (ME)

PEC University of Technology (Formerly Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh) invites applications for the following Two years (four semesters) full time programmes leading to the Degree of Master of Engineering (ME) in the following disciplines:



. Highways Engineering
. Irrigation and Hydraulics Engineering
. Structural Engineering
. Environmental Engineering
. Electrical Engineering
. Mechanical Engineering
. Electronics Engineering
. Electronic Product Design and Technology (in collaboration with C-DAC, Mohali)
. Industrial Materials and Metallurgical Engineering
. Production & Industrial Engineering
. Computer Science & Engineering.




ADMISSION PROCEDURE AND RULES
1. The admission to all the ME courses will be regulated through Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) in the relevant branch. However, non-GATE-qualified students may also be considered for admission to M.E. courses provided seats remain vacant after considering all the GATE-qualified applicants for admission (also see clause 2 below). But, for ME Electronics Engineering, Non-GATE-qualified candidates will be eligible for admission only against Sponsored/Part-time seats.
2. Candidates, who hold a B.E./B.Tech. Degree in the parent branch pertaining to the ME course to which they are seeking admission and do not have a valid GATE score and candidates of non-parent branches, will be eligible for admission on the basis of their merit in the Entrance Test to be conducted by the concerned department of PEC. However, ME Electronic Product Design & Technology candidates from Non-parent branches with valid GATE score do not need to appear in the entrance test.

Eligibility for admission
1. A candidate must have obtained a B.E. / B.Tech. Degree from an IIT / AICTE approved
college/a university recognized by UGC in the relevant discipline as given in Table-2.
OR
A candidate must have cleared/completed A & B Sections of the Institution of Engineers (India), Calcutta, Examination; or I.E.T.E. Graduate Examination conducted by the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, New Delhi, in the relevant branch and must possess at least five years research / professional experience.
2. The candidate must possess qualifying degree with 60% marks or equivalent CGPA with 5%
relaxation for SC/ST and Physically Handicapped category candidates.

Submission of Applications

1. Applications for admission must be filled in the candidate's own handwriting and on the prescribed official application form appended with this brochure / application form or downloaded from the college website http://www.pec.ac.in .

The application should reach the Officer-in-Charge PG Admissions on or before the closing date 14.07.2009 (Tuesday)
