The national institute for the mentally handicapped (NIMH) is a registered society established in the year 1984 as an autonomous body under the ministry of social justice and empowerment, govt. of India. The institute is an apex body having tripartite functions of training, research and services in the field of mental retardation in the country. Since past 25 years, institute has been making striking advances in building capacities to empower persons with mental retardation.
Director, NIMH invites applications for admission to the following course for the academic year 2009-11 which is affiliated to Osmania University
Eligibility: The candidate should have a degree from a recognized university in the following courses – MBBS, BUMS, BAMS, Naturopathy, BHMS, BMR, BRS (MT), BRT, BOT, BPT, B.Sc (HLS), PGDEI. Masters in child development, M.Phil in Psychology. The candidate should have secured 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree examination in case of general candidates and 45% marks in case of SC and ST candidates.
Mode of selection: Entrance examination to be conducted by Osmania University on 10.12.2009
No of seats: General – 08, SC – 02, ST – 01, PH – 01, OBC – 03, Total – 15
The application-cum-prospectus can be obtained from the Asst. Admn. Officer (TP&S) NIMH, Manovikasnagar, Secunderabad-500009 through demand draft in favour of Director, NIMH, Secunderabad
The last date for receipt of application is 27.11.2009 and cost of prospectus Rs 450/- for general category and OBC Rs. 350/- for SC/ST/PH category.
Note: The complete information on admission into the courses is given in the prospectus and also in the institute’s website. The candidates may submit the form by downloading the application. The hard copy of the application duly filled in with specified demand draft shall be submitted by post before the due date. Application without demand draft and copies of certificates will be rejected.
