The National Institute of Sciece Education and Research, Bhubaneswar, invites from applications from Indian citizens for admission to the PhD programme scheduled to commence from December 2009, at the following schools of basic sciences at NISER, Bhubaneswar:

1. School of Biological Sciences
2. School of Chemical Sciences
3. School of Mathematical Sciences
4. School of Physical Sciences

Eligibility:

Age: You should be not more than 28 years on December 01, 2009 (born on/ after December 01, 1981)

Minimum Educational Qualifications

Biological Sciences: 55% in Masters in any branches of Biology, life sciences and bioinformatics.
Chemical Sciences: 55% in M. Sc. Or equivalent degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Material Science
Mathematical Sciences: 55% in M Sc or equivalent degree in Mathematics
Physical Sciences : 55% in M Sc or equivalent degree in Physics/Chemistry/Mathematical Physics or equivalent degree in Engineering EE/ME
Note: Candidates should have qualified the CSIR-NET/GATE/JEST/NBHM or equivalent examination valid for the current year in the relevant area of research.

Selection Procedure: Candidates who meet minimum educational qualifications and satisfy additional criteria as set by the departments will be called for interview by the selection committee.
