Admission to the M.Tech. Programmes 2010

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hyderabad invites Applications for admission to the Master of Technology (M.Tech.) programmes of the Institute commencing from July end 2010.

Departments
(a) Computer Science & Engineering

(b) Electrical Engineering: i) Communications and Signal Processing ii) Micro-electronics and VLSI, (iii) Power Electronics & Power Systems

(c) Mechanical Engineering: i) Design Engineering and ii) Thermofluid Engineering

(d) Chemical Engineering

(e) Civil Infrastructure Engineering

(f) Materials Science & Engineering


Minimum Qualifications
B.Tech./B.E. degree with first class or equivalent in the respective or allied areas with exceptional academic record and possessing a valid GATE score.

General Information
Financial support (i.e., assistantship or scholarship) will be provided to qualified students who are Indian citizens fulfilling the above requirements, enrolled in the M.Tech. Programme and who do not receive any other form of financial assistance.
Applicants working in Government of India R&D Organizations/Laboratories also are eligible to apply to M.Tech. Programmes. Such applicants (a) need to be deputed on leave by the parent organization for completing the course requirement (b) require GATE qualification, and/or enough experience and (c) will not be paid any assistantship or scholarship by IIT Hyderabad.

Non-TA (Non Teaching Assistantship) positions are available for Industry/Self Sponsored candidates.

Reservation
15% seats are reserved for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST and 27% for OBC. Also, up to 3% of seats are reserved for persons with physical disability (PD) in each category as per Government of India rules.

Application Deadline
Download the application form from www.iith.ac.in and after duly filling it send as an email attachment to mtech_2010_applications@iith.ac.in on or before 20 April 2010. Candidates desirous of applying for more than one M.Tech. program must apply separately for each program.

There will be an application fee of Rs.200/- for General/OBC category and Rs.100/- for SC/ST category. A demand draft in the name of "Registrar IIT Hyderabad" Payable at SBI, KANDI branch, for the above should be sent to the address given below.
