Rules

Applications are invited from Indian citizens for admission in the following Ph.D. programmes for the session 2008-09:

Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Food Engineering and Technology, Humanities (English) and Management, Mathematics (including Statistics), Mechanical Engineering, Physics and Interdisciplinary Areas
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in Engineering/Technology/Science/Humanities/Management with 55% of marks (50% for SC/ST)


GENERAL INFORMATION:
Financial aid (Assistantship/Scholarship) will be provided to few candidates for the Ph.D. Programme @ Rs.14000/-pm with M.Tech./GATE and @ Rs. 12000/- pm with MA/M.Sc degree who has qualified NET/GATE conducted by CSIR/UGC. Candidates not qualified the above shall be paid assistantship at a reduced rate. Sponsored, part-time and self finance candidates are also considered for Ph.D. Programme.


HOW TO APPLY
Application forms and detailed information can be obtained free of charge from the office of Dean(R &D) of the institute or can be downloaded from the institute website www.sliet.ac.in. Filled application form may be submitted to the Dean(R&D), Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology, Longowal, Distt. Sangrur, Punjab-148106 or through email (slietdeanrnd@gmail.com) on or before October 10, 2008. Separate application must be sent for each programme.
