3 JRF Positions in Biotechnology Dept.
The Department of Biotechnology, CUSAT has invited applications, in plain paper, for the position of three Research Fellows (JRF) in a Ministry of Earth Science sponsored research project entitled “Morphometric and Molecular characteristics of deep sea fishes and screening and isolation of potentially bioactive molecules from deep sea organisms”. Tenure of the project is up to February 2012 and monthly emolument for the selected candidates is Rs.8000/- besides HRA.

Candidates with first class M.Sc. in Zoology/Marine Biology/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with experience. Besides, this scheme provides an opportunity of registration for doctoral research in the Department of Biotechnology, CUSAT.

Research Fellows in Electronic Dept. of Cusat
Applications are invited for three posts of Research Fellows in a project funded by the Department of Information Technology (Govt.of India) for a period of one year at a consolidated salary for persons having M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent in electronics or B.E/B.Tech, or equivalent in Electronics with two years research/teaching experience in Communication/ Digital Design/ Embedded System Design, the salary is Rs. 14,000/- + HRA per month (Consolidated) and for persons with M.Sc. Electronics/ Electronic Science or B.E/B.Tech.or equivalent in Electronics, the salary is Rs.12,000/- +HRA per month (Consolidated). Industrial /Research experience in Communication/Digital Design /Embedded System Design will be desirable.

NOTIFICATION

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to be academic programmes for the academic year 2008-2009 as listed below. Admission are based on Common Admission Test (CAT)/ Department Admission Test (DAT)/Test for Lateral Entry (LET). Eligibility conditions and other particulars appear in the detailed notification published in the national dailies viz, Malayala Manorama, The Hindu dated 29.2.2008 and also available at the Website of the University www.cusat.nic.in.

Those who are applying for First Degree Programmes in Engineering & Technoogy (B.Tech and Integrated M.Sc in Photonics): the CAT will be conducted on all India basis with test centres in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkatta, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Ranchi, Varanasi, Allahabad, Jamshedpur, Kota, all district head quarters of Kerala and Overseas Centre at Dubai.

Those who are applying for PG Programmes / First Degree Programmes including LL.B/ both Programmes: the CAT will be conducted oly in the Centres at all the district head quarters of Kerala and New Delhi.

The University reserves the right to cancel any or all the notified test centres for administrative reaons including dates/rules and regulations relating to programmes of study, eligibility, reservation, admission criteria, fee structure and other relevant matters. All disputes related to CAT shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Courts at Kochi only. Appearance in the CAT or figuring in the Rank list does not ipso facto confer any right for admission to a particular course unless found suitable as pr the eligibility criteria as amended from time to time.

Rs. 750/- for General Category and Rs. 400/- for SC/ST Category (for 1.1, 1.2, 2.1 & 2.5 Programmes) (for 3 Programmes).
Rs. 5750/- for candidates who apply under NRI Quota (for 3 Programmes)
Rs. 3750/- for those opting Overseas Test Centres. (Candidates under NRI Quota need not pay this amount) (for 3 Programmes)
Rs.100/- for General Category and Rs. 50/- for SC/ST Category for each additional programmes exceeding 3.
Rs.380/- for General Category and Rs. 230/- for SC/ST Category (for LET).
