ADMISSION NOTICE DNB PROGRAMME


G.Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital is a 56 year old, 530 bedded Super Speciality Trust Hospital, ranked as the best hospital in Coimbatore in 'The Week' - II year consecutively, providing state-of-art, quality care at affordable cost. The Hospital is recognised by National Board of Examinations, New Delhi or DNB Programme in the following subjects:
SUPER SPECIALITIES
CARDIOLOGY (2 NOS) ELIGIBILITY: Passed MD/DNB (General Medicine) or MD Paediatrics*
CARDIOTHORACIC SURGERY: (2 NOS) ELIGIBILITY: MS General Surgery*/DNB General Surgery.

* From University recognised by MCI

Applications are invited form eligbile candidates for the above courses commencing from March 2008. The application form can be downloaded from their website. Also it can be forwarded to their mail.

Last Date for receipt of application is 29th February, 2008. Selection will be based on written test & Interview on 5th March, 2008 (Wednesday) at 9 am.

G. KUPPUSWAMY NAIDU MEMORIAL HOSPITAL has invited application for ADMISSION FOR 2008 DNB PROGRAMME (3 Year/2 year).

ADMISSION FOR DNB PROGRAMME – 2008

G. Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital is a 56 year old, 600 bedded Super Specialty Trust Hospital providing state-of-art quality care. The Hospital is recognized by National Board of Examination, New Delhi for the following DNB programmes. Eligibility as per the DNB rules.


Programme:

CARDIIOLOGY: 2 Seats
CARDIOTHORASIC SURGERY: 2 Seats
ANAESTHESIOLOGY: 2 Seats
OBSTETRICS & GYNAECOLOGY: 2 Seats
PAEDIATRICS: 2 Seats
RADIOTHERAPY: 1 Seat
GENERAL SURGERY: 2 Seats

SELECTION PROCESS

The course starts within 3 weeks of display of results by the institution i.e. 15th February each year. The advertisement will be placed in the leading newspaper for BROAD and SUPER SPECIALITIES within one week of release of CET results from National Board of Examinations New Delhi. The selection is purely on merit based on the interview. During the interview, assessment will be made on candidate's aptitude and communication skills.

TRAINING FEES

Training fees of Rs.25,000/- each year has to be paid by the candidate as specified by NBE.
NO CAPITATION FEES / SECURITY DEPOSIT STIPEND

As specified by NBE, following stipend will be paid :-
Programme Broad Specialty First Year Rs. 10,000/-, Second Year Rs. 11,000/-, Third Year Rs. 12,000/- Super SpecialtyFirst Year Rs. 16,000/-, Second year: Rs. 17,000/-, Third Year: Rs. 18,000/-

TEACHING PROGRAMME

The duration of the course: Broad Specialities :- Primary / CET Pass candidates 3 years Post Diploma Pass 2 years. Super Specialties :- Post Graduates 3 years
Teaching is done regularly by recognised teachers at the bedside. Theory classes, CME programmes, Mortality Meetings, Medical Audits, Workshops are conducted by the concerned clinical specialities. The candidates will be posted in the allied specialities also to have good exposure in their field. The hospital will conduct assessment tests once in six months. The assessment would (by short essay type questions) cover theoretical knowledge, clinical skills, procedural skills, communication skills, knowledge of health care system, ethical & legal issues. The exams will be conducted by the institution under supervision of local appraisers.
A log book will be maintained by the candidate. Based on that, the progress of thesis work will be assessed. The local appraisers will study the log book entries and then will send report to NBE Training Monitoring Cell.
