The Kovai Medical Center Research and Educational Trust, Coimbatore is a non-profitable voluntary organization established in the year 1990 by the promoters of Kovai Medical Center and Hospital with Dr.Nalla G.Palaniswami, MD, AB (USA) as the Joint Managing Trustee and Dr.Thavamani D. Palaniswami, MD, AB (USA), FAAP, as the Managing Trustee. The goal of the trust is to render quality and character building education, training and research facilities to the youth of India and abroad. Over the year the trust has developed into a strong force to face the growing demands in the field of education. Under its umbrella the institutions functioning are KMCH College of Nursing, KMCH College of Pharmacy, KMCH College of Physiotherapy and KMCH College of Occupational Therapy. Dr.Nalla G.Palaniswami is basically a Medical Doctor and has the vision of improving the Medical facilities and training in India. After his return from the U.S.A. he started the Kovai Medical Center and Hospital at Coimbatore in the year 1989.

The Kovai Medical Center Research and Educational Trust have paramedical institutions to train the supporting staff for health care. He felt that practical education is needed for our nation and hence he started Dr.N.G.P. Arts and Science College established in 1997. Now the scenario of Technical Education in Tamilnadu is entirely different from the past. There has been a phenomenal growth in the field of technical education during the past two decades.
