MBA PROGRAM from INC

The INC is a constituent of the Icfai Academy. INC is established to extend academic support and placement assistance for candidates preparing for professional careers. INC provides academic support and placement assistance for private candidates interested in pursuing the MBA Program of the ICFAI University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The University is in no way associated with the academic support and placement assistance rendered by INC. INC maintains a reputation for quality teaching, field based assignments, case based learning, productive learning based internships and final placements in reputed organizations. INC has evolved a comprehensive student centric learning approach consisting of several stages, designed to add significant value to the learner’s understanding in an integrated manner.

The MBA Program
The MBA Program of the University prepares the students with the skills, knowledge and strategic perspectives essential to the leadership of business anywhere in the world. The MBA Program is designed to provide both a portfolio of strong functional skills and the ability to apply,adapt and integrate those skills in different management settings.

Enrollment : The students are allowed to register for the MBA Program of the University as private candidates.

Eligibility: Graduation from any discipline with 45% and above aggregate marks. Final year degree students awaiting results.

Award : Successful students will receive the MBA degrees from the University, subject to University regulations.
Duration: Two years

Program Structure : The Program covers 27 courses apart from 2 Management. Theses and 4 courses of Soft Skill Labs spread over 2 years in 4 semesters. Students are also required to undergo a summer internship program.

Electives
The students are encouraged to choose eight courses from eight elective streams viz., Marketing, HRM, Finance, Banking, Investments, Insurance, Accounting and IT & Systems. Student will have the flexibility in choosing more than one course from these elective streams. Students will also have the facility for dual specialization. Elective courses will be offered subject to a minimum number of students enrolling for a particular elective course.

MBA Admission Procedure
Eligibility Criteria : Graduation from any discipline with 45 % and above aggregate marks. Final year degree students awaiting results.

For the purpose of determining eligibility based on aggregate percentage of marks, the procedure used by the respective university in award of the degree will only be taken into consideration. All applicants should have completed a minimum of 15 years of formal schooling by July 01, 2008. Applicants who have completed their graduation on a one-time sitting basis or on a 2-year basis are not eligible for admission to the postgraduate program.

Students in their final year bachelor's degree course are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their graduation requirements including practical examinations/viva assignments before July 01, 2008. Such applicants will have to produce a certificate to that effect at the time of admission. For any extension of this deadline, the applicants should apply separately, giving the schedule of their graduation examination. Extension may be granted on the basis of the circumstances of the case.

The admission of applicants will, however, remain provisional until they produce marksheets and a degree certificate establishing their eligibility. The last date for submitting the proof of graduation transcripts is November 01, 2008 , failing which the provisional admission will automatically stand cancelled.

Admission Criteria
The selection of applicants is made through Admission Test and Interview.

INC Admission Test (INCAT)
Students seeking admission are required to submit the completed application form at the INC Center where the students wish to join. They are required to appear for an Admission Test followed by an interview. The Admission Test is on GMAT pattern with multiple choice questions and tests the applicant's abilities in quantitative techniques, data adequacy, vocabulary and analytical reasoning. Exemption from Admission Test
Those applicants who have valid GMAT/CAT 2007/XAT 2008 scores and those who appeared for IBSAT 2007 (and were shortlisted for IBS interviews) are exempted from Admission Test. They can appear for interview directly.

Interview
Applicants will have to go through a personal interview at the center where they seek admission. This is to determine the student's attitudes and motivation to pursue the program. The interviews will be conducted after the admission test. Original certificates should be produced for verification at the time of interview. The original certificates will be returned after verification. The admission decision will be communicated after the interview process. All the selected candidates will be required to pay the admission fee immediately after the admission decision is announced.

INC gives utmost importance to assist students in getting suitable placements after successful completion of the program.
The Placement Team
The placement team at INC looks after the placement activities on a full-time and continuous basis. Staffed by senior professionals and placement executives, the placement team initiates and maintains the INC-Industry dialogue and manages the summer internship program and final placement activities. The placement team evaluates student performance levels and ensures relevant preparation for their corporate placements. Working both at the supply and demand sides of the placement, the placement team plays the vital intermediary role of matching academic excellence and industry expectations.

The LEAD Program
INC has designed an innovative program titled “Learn, Earn and Develop (LEAD)” Program for the benefit of students, allowing them to get exposure to practical work while studying at INC. The LEAD Program offers the students an opportunity to work on a part-time basis, to promote various products and services of leading organizations. LEAD is a voluntary program which could be based on performance based incentives. It provides practical experience and skill development opportunities.

Benefits
The LEAD Program has been designed to help INC students develop skills which will be useful to them in their future careers. Students will have the opportunity to: Develop skills in : Communication -Presentation -Marketing -Develop their overall personality -Understand the dynamics of the market place -Earn stipends and incentives -Obtain work experience while studying.
