ELIGIBILITY:
1. M.B.B.S. / 2. B.D.S. Degree Programmes
Eligibility: Any candidate who is a Citizen of India with the following Academic Qualification can apply (i) A Pass in H.Sc.(Academic), Examination with Biology or Botany & Zoology, Physics and Chemistry and English. (Or)

(ii) Any other equivalent examination approved by the Annamalai University with a minimum percentage of marks as detailed below:
Biology or Botany & Zoology - OC - 60% , BC – 60%, MBC/OC – 55% , SC/ST – 40%
Physics - OC - 60% , BC – 60%, MBC/OC – 55%, SC/ST – 40%
Chemistry - OC - 60% , BC – 60%, MBC/OC –55%, SC/ST – 40%
Aggregate marks out of 200
OC - 140 , BC – 130, MBC/OC –120, SC/ST – 80

3. B.P.T. Degree Programme
Eligibility: A Pass in H.Sc.(Academic) with (Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Botany/Zoology) and English Examination or equivalent examinations accepted by the Annamalai University.

4. B.Sc.(Nursing) Degree Programme
Eligibility: H.Sc.Exams(12yrs Course) (or) Senior School Certificate exams(10 + 2), Pre-degree exams(10 + 2) (or) any equivalent with 12yrs schooling from a recognised Board or University with Science/Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and English with a minimum of 50% aggregated marks (PCBE) Unmarried Female Candidates only are Eligible.

Maximum Number of Attempts for MBBS / BDS / BPT / B.Sc.(Nursing) Programmes for SC/ST: Three (One Improvements and Four Appearances) and for Others: Two (One Improvements and three Appearances)

AGE LIMIT: The candidates should have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st December 2008 [for MBBS/BDS/BPT/B.Sc.(Nursing) programmes]. No request for relaxation of the age will be entertained.

5. M.P.T. Degree Programme
Eligibility: Candidates seeking admission to the First Year of the MPT Programme must have acquired the B.P.T. Degree of Annamalai University (or) a Degree of any other University recognised as equivalent thereto by this University.

6. M.Sc.(Nursing) Degree Programme
Eligibility:
(i) Candidates seeking admission into I M.Sc. Nursing Programme must have passed B.Sc. (Nursing) / B.Sc. (Hons. Nursing) / Post Basic B.Sc.(Nursing) with minimum of 55% aggregate marks, (for SC/ST candidates minimum of 50% of marks of aggregate marks)
(ii) Candidate should have undergone B.Sc. (Nursing) / B.Sc. (Hons. Nursing)/Post Basic B.Sc (Nursing) in an institution which is recognised by the Indian Nursing Council.
(iii) Minimum 1 year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. (Nursing)
(iv) Minimum 1 year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing)
(v)Candidate shall be Medically fit

7&8. Certificate Programme in Dental Mechanics/Dental Hygienists
Eligibility: A Pass in Xth Std. with an aggregate of 50% marks along with pass in English language or an equivalent recognised qualification.

AGE LIMIT: The candidates should have completed the age of 15 years as on 31st December 2008.

COST OF APPLICATION FORM:
1. M.B.B.S. - Rs.1000/-
2. B.D.S. - Rs.1000/-
3. B.P.T/B.Sc. (Nursing) - Rs.500/-
4. M.P.T. / M.Sc. (Nursing) (including Entrance Exam. Fees) – Rs.750/-
5.Certificate Course in Dental Mechanics/Dental Hygienists- Rs.200/-

(i) Candidates who have appeared for Entrance Examination conducted by the Annamalai University on 05th May, 2008 are only eligible
(ii) Candidates who have not appeared for Entrance Examination are advised not to apply.
(iii) A separate interview for each Programme will be conducted only at Annamalainagar.

How to Apply :
Application form and Prospectus can be obtained from THE REGISTRAR, ANNAMALAI UNIVERSITY, ANNAMALAINAGAR - 608 002 from 16-05-2008 onwards on payment of prescribed fee noted above in Person OR by sending a Demand Draft obtained on or after 12-05-2008 drawn in favour of THE REGISTRAR, ANNAMALAI UNIVERSITY, ANNAMALAINAGAR from ANY BANK, payable at CHENNAI along with a self addressed stamped Thick Kraft envelope of size 30 cm x 24 cm (stamps affixed to the value of Rs.30/-) with the name of the Programme for which the application is required should be superscribed boldly on the envelope. The Name of the Programme should be clearly indicated in the requisition letter.
The Name and Address of the Candidate and Programme for which Application is made should be clearly indicated on the back side of the Demand Draft also.
