MEDICAL ADMISSIONS 2009-2010

The admission process to 100 per cent BTech management seats of 10 Catholic engineering colleges and the MBBS/BDS seats of four Christian medical colleges and one dental college will begin on June 1 on the lines of last year's admission process.
The medical colleges and the dental colleges to which the admission will be held are Amala Institute of Medical Scieneces, Thrissur; Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research Institute, Thrissur, Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Medical College, Kolanchery; Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Science and Research Centre, Tiruvalla and Pushpagiri College of Dental Sciences, Tiruvalla.

The application form and prospectus can be obtained from the colleges under the Kerala Christian Professional College Managements Federation by submitting a Demand Draft of Rs 700 in the name of the Federation, which can be changed at Ernakulam. Those who cannot secure it this way can download the prospectus and application form from www.kcpcmf.org. The last date for submission of application will be 20.6.09 or 10 days from the date of publication of the Kerala Engineering Entrance examination results, whichever is later.

Downloaded application form must accompany a D.D. for Rs.700/- in favour of the respective college. Acknowledgement will be issued for applications submitted directly. Completed application form is to be submitted to any of the colleges and one application is needed for all the colleges. Receipts will be issues for submitted applications.Those who send the same by post shall send it by Regd./Speed Post ack. due.

As in the previous year, the Federation and the member colleges have decided to admit students based on inter-se merit calculated with due weightage for the marks scored by the candidates in the Kerala Engineering /Medical Entrance examination and marks scored in Physics, Chemistry and Biology of the qualifying examinations in the ratio of 50:50.

The Federation will not conduct a separate entrance to admit students, but the applicants should secure 50% marks in the Kerala Medical Entrance Examination. Scheduled Caste and Schduled Tribe and backward section candidates need to secure 40% marks.

Meanwhile admission to nearly 3,400 BTech seats in 10 Catholic Engineering Colleges under the Kerala Catholic Engineering College Managements' Association will also begin on June 1 , according to the association.

The engineering colleges are Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Koovapally P.O. Kanjirapally, Kottayam Dist; Jyothi Engineering College, Cheruthuruthy, Thrissur; Lourdes Matha College of Science & Technology, Kuttichal; .Marian Engineering College, Menamkulam, Kazhakkoottam; Mar Baselios College of Engineering & Technology, Nalanchira; Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology, Kochi; Sahrdaya College of Engineering & Technology, Kodakara, Thrissur; St. Joseph's College of Engineering & Technology, Choondacherry, Pala; Viswajyothi College of Engineering & Technology, Vazhakulam, Muvattupuzha and Vimaljyoti Engineering College, Chemperi P.O., Kannur.

The detailed prospectus and application form can be obtained from the respective member colleges on payment of Rs.300/- (rupees three hundred only) in person. The same may also be downloaded from the website of the individual colleges. Completed application form is to be submitted to each college.

Students and the public can view the details of the applicants and merit list on the website of the respective colleges. All the allotment will be through websites. The members of the Kerala Catholic Engineering College Managements Association will offer scholarship to BPL candidates up to a maximum of 10 per college.

However, these students have to get the admission on the basis of inter-se merit. In addition to general open merit, seats will be provided to SC/ST, Dalit Christian, Latin Catholic and Christian community students. Full details regarding number of seats, eligibility, admission process, etc. are available in the prospectus as well as the website of the member colleges.

There will not be any separate entrance examination for the member colleges of the association. The applicants must secure eligiblility through the Kerala Engineering Entrance examination 2009.
