Established in 1969 by the Reserve Bank of India in consultation with the Government of India (GOI), NIBM is the apex institution for research, training and consultancy in banking and finance. As an autonomous Institute, the NIBM has earned its pride of place not only in the Indian Financial System but also in the International arena. NIBM has its own campus with all modern educational, institutional and residential facilities. The library with more than 65000 books and 350 journals and periodicals is one of the greatest attractions for the knowledge seekers.
Going by consistent 100 percent placement record of the earlier One-Year PGPBF students in major public sector, new generation private sector and foreign banks and extremely positive feedback from the banking and financial services community, PGPBF is moving over to Two-Year format with enhanced inputs and deeper specialization in Banking and Finance.
TWO YEARS FULL TIME RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMME FOR CAREERS IN BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES INDUSTRY
Eligibility for Admission and Admission Procedure-
A three-year Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with atleast 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline. Students completing their degree examination by June 2009 may also apply. Fefer to their website for complete details regarding qualifying criteria of universities from where the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree and for other important information about eligibility.
Candidates seeing admission to the above programme should appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) being conducted by IIMs on November 16, 2008. The candidates should follow the CAT advertisement of IIMs in leading newspapers on July 13, 2008, ( which is also available in this website) for procurement of CAT Bulletin. Closing date for sale of CAT Bulletins through designated branches of banks(s) is August 8, 2008 and thorugh IIMs it is August 13, 2008.
CAT score is used for short-listing candidates who apply for admission to NIBM. IIMs have no role either inthe selection process or in the conduct of Programme.
Apply to NIBM by filling a separate application form, furnishing CAT Reg. No. and Centre No. Candidates shortlisted on the basis of CAT scores will be called for Group Discussion and Interview for final selection during Mid-April 2009.
