TRAINING PROGRAMME AT NIZAM’S INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES, PUNJAGUTTA, HYDERABAD.* Please Visit website periodically for updates on the matter1. Training shall be offered in the following specialities leading to the candidates eligible to appear for National Board of Examination:2. The induction to training will take place once in a year in the month of July or any other date finalized by NIMS.3. It is the responsibility of the candidate to get himself / herself registered with the National Board of Examinations through the concerned department and principal of the college.4. The candidates selected for the various faculties of the D.N.B. should submit their applications and necessary original certificates along with a bond of Rs.50,000/- in the office of the Director, NIMS, Hyderabad and have to pay the tuition fee 4,000/- P.M. which shall be deducted from the stipend payable every month from following month of induction to training.5. All the rules and regulations that are generally followed for the postgraduate students are also applicable for the D.N.B. candidates.6. Accommodation will be provided to the candidates during the course of their study subject to availability on payment of prescribed rent. The Institute will not accept any sort of liability during the course of their training period. The candidate will not take part in any strikes or illegal activities during the course of their training.
7. The examinations will be conducted by the National Board of Examinations and the Institute shall not be held responsible for any delays and discontinuation or change in the rules by N.B.E. during the course of training.8. The candidates seeking induction for training to super speciality faculty of DNB Programme must posses the following qualifications:i) Should have passed MBBS and completed one year compulsory rotatory housemanship in institutions as specified by the Medical Council of India.ii) For direct 3 years DNB Course Post MBBS (recognized by MCI / University) should have passed Post Graduate Diploma in the relevant speciality for 2 years DNB course as applicable.iii) Should have passed either the primary examination or the C.E.T.(Common Entrance Test) Examinations conducted by the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi.iv) The primary candidates selected must clear the CET test of NBE.( In those specialities where Secondary Diploma candidates are also selected same procedure must be followed).The Candidates seeking induction for training to various super speciality faculties of DNB programmes must posses the following qualifications.a. Pass in MD/MS from MCI recognised University / Institution. Or any qualification recognised as equivalent by MCI.10. If any information / certificates submitted by the candidates at the time oftheir induction are found to be false, the Director reserves the power to cancel the induction of such candidates.11. The candidates provisionally selected to DNB course are instructed to report to the Head of the Department concerned only and Head of concerned Department will allot the guide for the candidates.12. All the rules and regulations as approved by the National Board of examinations shall be applicable to the trainees unless otherwise specifically cited in this rules of admission.APPLICATIONS:1. A Candidate can apply for training in one subject only.2. Candidates may obtain the application forms and rules Governing the admission by submitting a Demand Draft for Rs. 450/- (Rupees Four hundred and fifty only) in favour Director, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences or by paying Rs. 450/- in NIMS Cash Counter in person, with a self addressed Rs.30/- stamped envelope of 11cm x 25cms., (those who want applications by post) from the Executive Registrar, NIMS.3. All applications duly filled in and with all necessary documents including a Demand Draft or Cash Receipt for Rs. 750/- (Rupees Seven hundred and fifty only) towards Registration fee, obtained in favour of the Director, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, shall be delivered in person or sent by registered post to the Executive Registrar, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Panjagutta, Hyderabad – 82, Andhra Pradesh, on or before the prescribed date. Fee once paid shall not be refunded.4. The filled in applications received after the prescribed date and time shall not be considered. The Institute will not be responsible for non-receipt of applications or delay in postal transit.NOTIFICATIONNotification shall be issued by the N.I.M.S. inviting applications from the eligible candidates to apply for admission to training at N.I.M.S.METHOD OF SELECTION AND OTHER CONDITIONS:1. Selection of DNB trainees will be done only through an interview and objective assessment of the candidate’s aptitude, communication and technical skills. That, details of the method adopted for selection, along with marks obtained and rank of each candidate will be sent to the Board immediately on declaration of results.2. Names of selected candidates will be displayed on the Notice Board of the Institute and simultaneously individual intimations to the selected candidates will be sent by Registered Post.3. In all matters relating to selections and admissions, the decision of the Institute shall be final and binding on the candidates and selection cannot be questioned after admissions are closed.ADMISSION RULES1.The dates of admission of selected candidates will be the dates as communicated to them in the letter of selection.2. All the candidates joining the DNB training shall execute a bond in the prescribed form on a stamped paper of Rs.10/- value along with two sureties to ensure completion of the prescribed period of training or in default to pay 50,000/- to NIMS being the amount mentioned in the bond and shall also have to refund the amount received as stipend upto that date to NIMS.3. The original certificates submitted by the candidates shall not be returned to the candidates till they complete their training and appear for the Final examination or discontinue the course duly fulfilling conditions stated above.4. The selected candidate has to pay a sum of Rs.4,000/- per month for broad specialty and Rs. 4500/- for Super specialty towards Tuition Fee per month Library Fees of Rs. 500/- and Medical treatment fees 500/- per annum, and Rs.2,000/- towards Security Deposit and submit all the original certificates on the date of joining the Institute.5. The candidate shall be full time Resident. No trainee is allowed to do any private practice or consultation.6. The candidate shall not register for any other Degree / Diploma and continue the training concurrently.7. Accommodation will be provided to the candidates to the extent available on a rent fixed as per the rules of the institute. They will have to necessarily stay in the accommodation if provided by the Institute.8. Duties and responsibilities of trainees joining DNB training shall be fixed by the Institute from time to time. They will be required to pursue such work as may be needed in the legitimate interest of patient care in the hospital.9. The selection of each trainee will be subject to medical fitness. The medical fitness will be decided by the Medical Board appointed by the Institute. The decision of the Medical Board shall be final.10. Stipends: Stipends will be paid to the DNB trainee who are regular in attendance and show good progress every month. The stipend details are given below.Broad Specialities: First year: Rs.10,000/-, Second year: Rs.11,000/-, Third year: Rs.12,000/-Super Specialities: First year: Rs.14,000/-, Second year: Rs.15,000/-, Third year: Rs.16,000/-In service candidates will not be paid stipend if they draw salary but they will be paid stipend if they are sanctioned extraordinary leave by their parent departments.11. The candidates shall maintain the required record as per the rules of N.B.E. and satisfy the requirements prescribed by N.B.E.12. The Guidelines/regulations issued by National Board of Examinations from time to time will be strictly followed for admissions and running of the course.CLOSURE OF ADMISSION:The admissions stand closed by the prescribed date and the training shall commence from the notified date. Due to unforeseen reasons if a seat falls vacant within 3 months from the date of commencement of the training the candidate next in the order of merit as per rule will be considered for admission. The duration of the training shall be calculated from the commencement of the training without reference to any individual’s date of joining.EXECUTIVE REGISTRAR
