Eligibility for Admission

1. For MSc in 'Integrated Rural Development and Management (IRDM)'

BSc Hons in Bio-science subjects, Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Fishery, Animal Science, Environmental Science, Social Science, Humanities, Rural Development, Geography or other equivalent degree.

A minimum 50% marks in aggregate is mandatory.

2. For PG Diploma in 'Agro-based Biotechnology (ABBT)'

BSc with Bio-science, Agriculture, Environment or allied subjects with minimum 50% in aggregate.

Note: Marks relaxation for reserved category as per Government rules.

Mode of Selection

Marks obtained in the qualifying examination, together with written test/viva voce/interview will be considered.

Admission Procedure

. Completed application forms along with the necessary documents must be addressed to:

The completed forms must be submitted to the above address, by post or in person, before 5 pm of the last date prescribed and published in the notification.

. The University authorities shall not take any responsibility for postal delays.

Candidates must submit attested photocopies of the following documents along with the application form. However, they shall be required to produce the original documents at the time of interview.

(a) Certificate and Marksheet of Higher Secondary (Plus Two) or equivalent examination

(b) Marksheet of BSc Final Examination. However, in case of candidates awaiting final results, the marksheet of the last part of examination, along with a certificate from the Head of the institution stating that the candidate has appeared for the final examination and that the results are awaited, will be needed for consideration of application. But the candidate must submit the mark sheet of BSc final exam soon after their results are published. It must be noted that the candidates shall be disqualified if they fail to obtain the requisite minimum marks as stated above.

(c) Conduct certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.

(d) Certificate in proof of age (Madhyamik/Matriculation/School Final/equivalent examination by the State Board).

(e) SC/ST certificate, if applicable.

(f) Transfer certificate from the Board/University in which candidate last studied should be produced at the time of admission.

(g) Medical/Health certificate in the prescribed form to be obtained from the Ashrama Dispensary (at the time of admission).

(h) Certificates, if any, of extra-curricular activities.

. No TA/DA etc. will be provided for appearing in the admission test/interview.

Fees and Deposits

. For Two-year (Four-Semester) MSc in 'Integrated Rural Development and Management (IRDM)' course: Rs. 12,000/- per semester.

. For One-year (Two-Semester) Postgraduate Diploma in 'Agro-based Biotechnology (ABBT)' course: Rs 8000/- per semester.

In addition, every student shall pay a one-time fee of Rs.5100/-, which includes admission fee (Rs.3000/-), caution deposit (Rs.2000/-) and identity card charges

Important Dates:

Application forms can be collected or downloaded from 21 June 2009

Last date for the receipt and submission of the application form is 17 August 2009

Date of admission test is 23 August 2009 at 10 am.
