Advertisement for Admission to Ph. D. Programme of the Department of Applied Psychology

Applications are invited for admission to the Department of Applied Psychology, University of Calcutta ( Rajabazar Science College, 92, Acharya Prafulla Chandra Road, Kolkata--700009) for Ph.D. course and subsequent research work for obtaining the Ph.D. degree in Applied Psychology. Candidates who wish to pursue research work in the Department should apply in the prescribed application form(obtainable from the Department of Applied Psychology) by paying Rs. 100.00 through a challan (obtainable from Cash Counter in Rajabazar Science College Campus and College Street Campus). No Demand Draft / Postal Order or others will be entertained. Duly filled application form (one copy passport size photo and xerox copy of all qualifications) must reach the office of the Head of the Department between 30/10/2012 and 23/11/2012.

The eligible candidates will have to appear in a written examination of 2.5 hours, to be held in the Department on 30th November, 2012. The syllabus of this examination is the UGC NET (Paper II and III A) in Psychology and existing syllabus of M.A./M.Sc. in Applied Psychology, University of Calcutta.

The results of the written test will be published on 13th December, 2012. The successful candidates will be called for an interview on 24th December, 2012. The candidates will be finally selected as Probationary Ph.D. student of this department on the basis of the evaluation in the interview.

At present eight(08) students will be taken. Those candidates who have already passed UGC (JRF) examination/NET/SET/SLET /Teacher Fellowship or equivalent examinations or passed the M.Phil in Psychology or equivalent examinations need not appear for the written examination. Such candidates can directly appear for the interview but they need to submit their application forms for admission within stipulated date i.e. 23rd November, 2012.

1. Applications are invited for the Entrance Examination for admission to B Pharm Course [through Lateral Entry] for the year, 2012 in the Government and Private-Self financing Colleges.

2. Eligibility for Admission
(i) Nativity: Applicant should be an Indian citizen of Kerala origin.
(ii) Academic qualifications: Diploma in Pharmacy [Candidate shall have studied in an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India and shall have passed the diploma examination conducted by the State Board of D Pharm Examinations or equivalent and must have a minimum of 50% marks for the second year D Pharm examination]. (For SEBC/OEC candidates, 45% marks and for SC/ST Candidates a pass in the second year D Pharm examination will be sufficient.)
(iii) Age: There is no upper age limit for admission to the course.

3. Selection on the basis of Entrance Examination: Selection of candidates for Bpharm (Lateral entry) course 2012 will be made on the basis of an Entrance Examination to be conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, [CEE] at Thiruvananthapuram on 11.11.2012 (Sunday). It will consists of one Paper, of two hours duration and will have 100 Objective Type (Multiple Choice) Questions. Candidates except those belonging to SC/ST categories have to score a minimum of 10% marks in the Entrance examination, to qualify and to figure in the rank list.

4. Application forms: Prospectus and Application form will be available from 09.10.2012, in the website www.cee-kerala.org.  There will be separate application forms for general candidates and SC/ST candidates. Candidates seeking admission to this course can apply in the prescribed format, after downloading the application form, provided in the website www.cee-kerala.org of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations and then remit the required fees at any State Bank of Travancore Branch using the Bank Chalan available with the print out .Candidates residing outside Kerala State can remit the application fee by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram. Application fee is Rs.300/- for General candidates and Rs.150/- for SC/ST candidates. Application forms will not be sold from the office of the CEE or office of the DME. Application fee once remitted will not be refunded under any circumstances.

5. Last date and time for receipt of filled-in application forms: Candidates seeking admission should forward their completed application with all the required documents to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 001, either by Registered post / hand delivery /speed post so as to reach him before 5 pm on 20.10.2012 (Saturday). Admit card will be made available online from 02.11.2012 through the websitewww.cee.kerala.gov.in.

6. Late, defective and incomplete applications will be summarily rejected. No correspondence will be undertaken in this regard. CEE will not be responsible for any postal delay.

7. Candidates will neither be allowed to include any information in the application form nor be allowed to submit any certificates / documents claiming reservation or any other benefits, after the submission of the application, under any circumstances

8. Candidates must note that they have to obtain the required certificates in the body of the application form itself, wherever specified. The certificates that are attached separately along with the application form will not be considered under any circumstances.

9. The CEE will conduct the Entrance Examination, prepare and publish the rank list of of all candidates who qualify in the Entrance Examination and forward the same to the Director of Medical Education.

10. The allotment and admission will be done by the DME, based on various provisions laid down in the Prospectus, approved by the Government of Kerala.

The Ph.D. Programme in Christian Studies
The Centre for Advanced Theological Studies (CATS) is one of three distinct initiatives of the Faculty of Theology. Its five-year Ph.D. programme comprises of 8 core courses offered in a compressed semester format in two years (requiring 4 weeks of residency for each year). These 8 core courses provide 32 credits. The thesis work (43 credits) spread over three years includes three tutorials and dissertation research and writing.

The programme is designed to facilitate engagement with the text and context in critical, innovative and integral ways for the mission of transforming Church and Society.

Entrance Qualification
• Master’s level theological qualification that is recognized by SHIATS
• M.Th. from a recognized institution or equivalent to five years of theological studies
• M.Div./B.D. with P.G. in any discipline.
• Those who do not have formal theological training and have a recognized Masters degree or Ph.D. in any field will have to undergo a preliminary theological programme of one year duration including at least four courses (NT, OT, History of Christianity and Theology).

The Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS), established in 1988, is one of the largest networks of Management Institutes in the world, with over 600 members including IIMs, ISB, Xavier Institutes, Welingkar, MDI, S P Jain, ICFAI, NMIMS and other top Indian business schools. ATMA was launched in 2000 to meet the expressed desire of AIMS members for a high quality test, the scores of which would be used in the admission process as a reliable predictor of academic performance in post graduate management programmes. ATMA is a credible, comprehensive and single-window test for admissions to different post-graduate management programmes. The first test was conducted on Sunday, February 20, 2000, at several centres in India

The Nineteenth ATMA Test will be held in about 30 cities on Sunday, 09th December, 2012. Test centres/venues may be cancelled, combined or changed depending on the number of candidates in specific centres.

How to make payment of Application Fee?
A candidate should either go to one of the Fee Collection Centres named in the website (www.atmaaims.com)  and collect a copy of the Application Form, if available with them,. Or, s/he may download the form from the website.

The payment is accepted from the candidates from 10th October, 2012 till 2:00 PM on 5th December, 2012.

Visit the Home page of the website (www.atmaaims.com)  and click on the Payment Gateway for paying the Registration Fee of Rs.1050/- (Rupees one thousand and fifty only) using your Credit or Debit Card. The Payment Gateway charges are 0.75% (plus Service Tax) on Debit Card and 2.4% (plus Service Tax) on Credit Card on Rs.1050/-.

Alternatively, the candidate can make an Online or net banking transfer through any nearest Bank using the following details:

How to do the Registration for the Test?
A Candidate must fill in the Registration Form available on the website (www.atmaaims.com) using the Personal Identification Number (PID) received from the ATMA Secretariat and also the Date of Birth (DD/MM/YYYY) of the candidate.

The candidate should take two printouts of the filled-in application (Registration) form after completion of all the personal particulars. The Roll number which gets generated thereupon will reflect in the Admit Card.

While filling in the Registration Form, one should select a maximum of five Participating Institutes from the list available on the website (www.atmaaims.com)  and quote the code numbers given against each Institute. The candidate’s scores will be reported to these five Institutes.

Admit Cards: Candidates are requested to down load their admit cards from the ATMA website www.atmaaims.com  by entering the PID number and date of birth from 4th December, 2012 to 8th December, 2012.

You must get your Admit Card in order to appear for the test. Candidates without the Admit Card or without photograph will not be allowed to appear for the test. Two latest passport size Photographs are to be affixed on the Admit Card (Candidate’s copy and Test Centre copy).

Change of test centre is not allowed, except for valid reasons in exceptional cases where the request for change is made well in advance i.e., at-least 10 days before the test, and subject to availability of computer systems and the approval of test administrator.

Registration fee, once paid, is not refundable or transferable to other tests under any circumstances.

Applications are invited for the Post Graduate Certificate in English Communication (PGCEC) course conducted by Centre for English Language and Communication Skills (CELCS), Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam (Tel. No. 0481-2732949) from graduates (any discipline) interested in developing their communication skills in English. The course is a full-time course of approximately of eight weeks duration. Student intake is restricted to 20. Graduates (any discipline) from any recognized Indian or foreign university are eligible to apply. Rank list will be prepared on the basis of the percentage of marks obtained in English at the +2 level or equivalent examination. University rules regarding reservation will be followed. The course fee is Rs.4,000.00. (SC/ST Rs.2,000.00)
