Applications are invited for the University Grants Commission (UGC) Research Fellowships in Science for Meritorious Students. Limited number of fellowships are available in (1) Chemical Engineering (2) Environmental Science (3) Civil Engineering and (4) Electrical Engineering. Fellowships are applicable for doing research in these disciplies in the respective University Departments/Centres only. The Fellowship is Rs.8000/- per month with a contingency grant of Rs.6000/- per annum (will be revised shortly).

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME:
The Programme offer specialization in the following five areas:

Eligibility: Post-Graduate degree or equivalent in any discipline (including M.A., M.Sc., M.Com, MBA, MCA, M.Tech. etc.) with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA. Qualifications of CA, ICWA, and CS with at least 50% marks. Other professional qualifications such as MBBS, LLB etc. with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA. Engineering degrees, viz., B.Tech and BE, with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
Those appearing for the final exams can also apply; but their final selection will be subject to successful completion of the requirement.
Selection: Based on applicant’s profile and test scores in CAT, GMAT, GRE (General/Advanced), UGC/CSIR JRF or GATE and personal interview at IIM Kozhikode Campus. Candidates (Indian residents only) called for interview will be reimbursed travel cost from their place of residence to IIMK and back upto IIIAC train fare by the shortest route.
Fellowship: Attractive fellowships covering academic and living expenses are available to all the candidates during the tenure of the programme (4 years). Rs.12000/- per month will be given as Common Fellowship to the selected candidates for the four years and for top performance additional Fellowship to the tune of Rs.6000 per month will be given from the second year. In addition, contingency grant to meet expenses related to data collection, purchase of equipments, books, etc. will also be given. Apart from the above, Fellow participants will be given limited support for attending national and international conferences as well as for exchange visits to partner institutions. No Fellowship will be given to persons belonging to categories of NRI, PIO and foreign nationals. These categories will also be required to pay fees specified by IIMK.

National Talent Scholarship (NTS) of Rs. 1,000/- per month for U.G. would be awarded to all selected in this examination who join any University in ICAR-SAU system, located outside their state of domicile.
Question Paper: There will be only one question paper consisting of objective type questions in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Agriculture) for “STREAM–A” and Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for “STREAM – B”. The candidates may choose any Stream according to their eligibility and choice of the subjects. The question paper will be in ENGLISH and HINDI.
Reservation: As per norms, 15% seats in all subjects will be reserved for candidates belonging to
Scheduled Castes (SC), 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 3% for Physically Handicapped (PH), and 2% for candidates from Underprivileged States (UPS). Reservation for OBC if applicable in four Central Universities (NDRI, CAU, BHU and Viswa Bharti) will be as per Government of India directives/ University rules.
Educational Eligibility: The candidate must have passed and obtained not less than 50% marks (for admission under General, UPS and OBC categories), or 40% marks (for admissions under SC, ST and PH. Categories) in 10+2 examination. Any candidate having compartment/ Supplementary in any subject in 10+2 examination is not eligible for admission. Candidates appearing for 10+2 examination can also apply but produce 10+2 pass certificate during Counseling. Pass in English in 10+2 examination is essential for admission in some of the Universities.

FOR THE STUDENTS HAVING BACHELOR'S DEGREE OF MINIMUM 3 YEARS DURATION IN ANY DISCIPLINE WITH MATHEMATICS AT 10+2 LEVEL
The objective of the programme is to provide an opportunity to those students who want to upgrade their studies/ knowledge through distance education as well as for those who are working in any organisation. The main thrust in the programme will be to polish the professional aptitude of the students through lectures by the experts in their respective fields.
SALIENT FEATURES
Admission would be made once in a year along with regular MCA students through the same Entrance Test conducted by Thapar University, Patiala.
All the eligible students (non- working) will be supported by the University Placement Cell for their placements.
Expert lecture notes/ learning material would be provided to students at the start of each semester for each subject.
There will be 20 Personal Contact hours per subject per semester stretched in two parts.
School will provide one instructor in - charge for each subject in each semester for clearing the problems of the students.
For hands on experience, state of art computational laboratories would be provided to the students at the university campus.
Students would undergo a major project for one complete semester guided by the faculty of the University.
Evaluation of the students would be made through mid term examination in the form of quizzes/ short answer type questions, assignment sheets and end semester examination with different weightage to each component.

Applications are invited for MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2008 for admission to First Year of twoyear
Full Time Post Graduate Degree Courses in MBA/MMS and PGDBM/PGDBA in the Government, University Managed, University Departments and Unaided Institutes in the Maharashtra State.
Eligibility Criteria for appearing to MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2008:
Candidate should have passed with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate ( 40% marks in aggregate in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only) in Bachelor’s degree/Master’s Degree in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities.

Appeared for the final year examination of Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities.
Note:
1. For the academic year 2008-09, both the Maharashtra State and OMS candidates who have
appeared/appearing for the All India CETs (CAT/JMET/MAT(conducted in Feb. 2008)/ATMA/XAT) are considered eligible for admission against the All India Seats subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria mentioned in the Information Brochure. Such candidates are also required to procure the Information Brochure alongwith Application kit and submit & confirm the Online Application form.
2. For admission to MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDBA course, the candidate is required to score
minimum 20 marks in MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2008. Candidates seeking admission on the basis
of All India CETs mentioned above are required to obtain minimum equivalent score.

receipt of application form for MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDBA for the year 2008-09.
> Information brochure alongwith the Application Kit for the aspiring candidates will be available at the identified post offices mentioned below during contact hours from 18/01/2008 to 31/01/2008 (excluding Public Holidays) against the payment of the application form processing fees.
> It is mandatory to procure the information brochure and go through it carefully. The CET that will be conducted in pursuance of this advertisement is subject to the rules and regulations set out in this information brochure. The further admission process, especially in respect of Private Unaided Institutes will be in terms of the clarification read with aforesaid rules and regulations.
> Submission of the application form in response to this advertisement will amount to accepting the afore said rules & regulations unequivocally by the applicant and upon such submission it will be presumed that the applicant agrees and accepts these rules & regulations as legal, valid and
correct. It will not be open for any applicant, once having submitted the application form to
question the legality, validity and correctness of these rules & regulations. The Centralized Admission Process will consist of first 3 rounds of allotment and the fourth (i.e. last) round of counseling. Candidates are instructed to carefully read the Annexure-I of the Information Brochure to understand the eligibility criteria for participating in each round.

J & K migrant candidates who wish to apply against J & K migrant quota and also against OMS quota are required to pay total fee of Rs. 2300/- (Two separate receipts of Rs.1150/- each).
> This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.
Submission and Confirmation of Online Application Form :
> Aspiring candidates will be able to submit and confirm the Online Application form through the
web site www.dte.org.in/mba through any computer connected to Internet.
> For the submission and confirmation of the online Application Form the candidates are required to use the Application ID and Password provided in the Application Kit. Candidates are also required to upload his/her photo and signature as per the instructions given in the Application Kit.
Candidates are advised to preserve the Application Kit carefully and not to disclose the Application ID & Password to others to avoid impersonation.
> In order to take the printout of the Online submitted Application form and the printout of the Hall Ticket for the CET, it is mandatory for all the candidates to confirm the Online submitted
Application form and such applications only will be considered valid for further processing.
> Applications sent by Post/Courier etc. to ARCs/DTE office will be rejected and no communication in this regard will be done with the candidates.

Applications are invited on prescribed form for admission to MBBS course starting from 1st July 2008. The candidates shall be selected as per their merit in the Entrance Examination to be held on 20th April 2008 at Nagpur, Delhi, Hyderabad & Mumbai. Those who are going to appear in 10+2 Higher Secondary Board Examination in March / April 2008 are also eligible to appear in the competitive Entrance Examination
IN THE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION THE PAPER OF PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY AND BIOLOGY WILL HAVE MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS, WHILE THAT ON GANDHIAN THOUGHT WILL BE OF ESSAY AND / OR SHORT ANSWER TYPE.
The Prospectus and Application Form with syllabus, question papers of Gandhian thought for the last 5 years, with model question papers of Physics Chemistry and Biology can be had from the office of the Dean by remitting a sum of Rs.1050/- (Rs.1000 + Rs.50 as postal charges) only by Money order in favour of the Dean, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sevagram, District Wardha - 442102 or by paying Rs.1000/- in cash at the college counter. The Prospectus & Form will be available from 6th December 2007. The last date of receipt of filled up application with Entrance Examination fee of Rs.1500/- is 29th February, 2008 and with an additional late fee of Rs.100/- is 14th March, 2008.
Eligibility
The candidate must be born on or before 1st January, 1992. The Candidate must have passed 12th standard examination under 10+2 system of Maharashtra State Higher Secondary Education Board or equivalent examination of any recognised Board or any Indian University with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology individually in each subject in one and the same attempt. The candidate must have obtained minimum 50% marks (40% in the case of SC/ ST/ VJ/ NT/ OBC) taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
The admission is subject to any direction given by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, Hon'ble High Court of Bombay Bench, Nagpur, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik and the Medical Council of India.
