A Two Year Post Graduate Diploma in

ACTUARIAL SCIENCES

Duration: Its a Full time, four semesters, two year programme.

Eligibility: Graduates of any disci;ine with a Firt class pass (60% of pass marks) and with Mathematics for Statistics as a main subject will be eligible to apply. FOR ENTRY INTO THE FOLLOWING:
INTERNATIONAL POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA COURSES (IPGD)2008/2009 Intake:
The International Post Graduate Diploma in Life Insurance
The International Post Graduate Diploma in General Insurance
The International Post Graduate Diploma in Risk management

A candidate can choose only one out of the above three courses

DURATION
All the three courses are of one year duration under two semesters full time system. Programes commence on third Monday of July and end on fourth Friday of March, every year.

FEE STRUCTURE
Fee for each course is Rs.1,80,000/- which covers tuition cost only. Several nationalized banks sanctions educational loans to IIRM Students.

ELIGIBILITY:
Graduates of any discipline including engineers from any recognised University (with a minimum of 50% marks) or equivalent professional qualification.

Those having PG Qualification with 50% or more marks will be considered even if such candidates secure less then 50% in graduation.

Candidates appearing for the final year examinations can also apply for provisional admission.

APPLICATIONS
Application forms can be obtained from the office of the Institute against payment of Rs.200/- payable by DD from any scheduled Bank favouring IIRM and payable at Hyderabad. The forms can be also be downloaded form the Institute's Website and sent to the Institute along with the DD for Rs.200/-

STAY
The Institute has no hostel facility Students will have to make their own arrangements.

AS a mark of its associatin and support to IIRM, Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), London has granted accreditation to the Courses of IIRM. A student qualifying in IPGD Course from IIRM is eligbile for exemptions in 7 out of 10 subjects or the ACII qualification.
The CII is the premier professional organization in the insurance and Financial Services Industry. A success in ACII qualification is globally recognized as a sign of competence, commitment and professionalism. This feature gives international status to the Courses of IIRM.
The Insurance Institute of India (III) has exempted licentiate and associatieship of IIRM who complete PG Diploma, Provided they appear for Fellowship exam of III and pass atleast one subject of Fellowship exam.

Applications are invited for admission to full-time MBA Programme 2008 – 2010 at Mesra, and their Extension Centres at Lalpur, Noida and Jaipur. Please see below for addresses of Centres.

Eligibility:
(A) Candidates must have appeared in CAT 2007. They must hold a Bachelor’s degree (minimum 10+2+3), or equivalent in any discipline recognized by UGC / Ministry of HRD / AIU, with 60 % marks (50 % marks for SC/ST) in graduation in Honours / aggregate of all subjects. They must also have passed in all subjects in Class 10 and Class 12 (excluding optional subjects) with minimum of 60% (50 % marks for SC/ST) in Class 10 (average of all subjects, excluding optional subjects) and Class 12 (average of best 5 subjects, excluding optional subjects). Candidates graduating in 2008 can also apply, provided they can submit marksheets by 31 October 2008. Candidates with qualifications acquired through correspondence or distance-learning programmes are eligible only if they acquired such qualifications as working professionals / while in employment.
(B) Candidates must have Verbal Percentile Score at least 40 (25 for SC/ST) and Total Percentile Score at least 40 (25 for SC/ST) in CAT-2007. Selection Procedure: Counselling will be held from about 12 May 2008 at their Centres at Jaipur, Noida, Mesra and/or Lalpur, and the counselling schedule will be displayed by 7 May 2008 on our website. Provisional selections will be based on Total Percentile Scores in CAT-2007 of such candidates who have applied and fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned above, due consideration being given to choice(s) of Place of Study made in application form. If seats remain vacant at any Centre, there may be subsequent notification(s) on our website. No separate intimations will be sent to candidates.

How to Apply:
The MBA 2008 Application Material including the General Information Brochure can be obtained from all our Centres at the addresses given on our website (a) In person from 12 Feb 2008 to 21 April 2008 on payment of Rs. 1,200/- and (b) By post on payment of Rs. 1,300/- (All payments by crossed DD in favour of Birla Institute of Technology, payable at Ranchi). Postal requests must be received by 15 April 2008, and must include covering letter & two slips of paper (10x10 cm) with name, address in capitals and phone number. To apply for the programme, eligible candidates may either (a) Fill in the printed form, available with the MBA 2008 Application Material, and send the completed form with 2 photographs and photocopies of all certificates by 30 April 2008, to reach the office of the Dean Admissions, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi 835215, or (b) Fill in the online application form on our website, and send a printout of the completed form with 2 photographs, crossed DD for Rs. 1,200/- in favour of Birla Institute of Technology, payable at Ranchi, and photocopies of certificates by 30 April 2008, at the same address.
