Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D.: (Engineering) M.Tech./M.E./M.Sc. (Engg.) degree in the respective or allied area. The candidates with Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology or Master's degree in Sciences in an allied area with exceptional academic record and possessing a valid GATE score may also apply. For Ph.D. in BSBE, candidates with MBBS, B.Pharma or M.Pharma Degree may also apply. Candidates with Master's Degree in Management may apply for Ph.D in Industrial and Management Engineering (IME). Ph.D.: (Sciences & HSS) M.Sc./M.A. degree in respective or allied area with a valid GATE/UGC/CSIR score.

M.TECH.: B.Tech/B.E./B.Sc.(Engg.)/M.Sc.in respective or allied area with a valid GATE/UGC/CSIR score; B.Tech. graduates from IITs with an overall minimum CGPA of 6.5 and a CGPA of 8.0 during the last two semesters in B.Tech. may also apply without a GATE score (Such candidates will, however, be not entitled for Institute Assistantship if CGPA is below 8.0). For M.Tech in Biological Sciences and Bio Engineering, candidates with MBBS or B.Pharma Degree area also considered.

M.DES.: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Design or Architecture with a valid GATE/CEED score.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Financial aid (Assistantship/Scholarship) is provided for M.Tech., Ph.D. and M.Sc.-Ph.D.(Dual Degree) Programmes. Tuition fee waiver of 50% is provided for M.Sc. (2 years)/M.Sc-Ph.D. (Dual Degree) students after first Semester. Sponsored and part-time candidates are also considered for M.Tech., M.Des. and Ph.D. Programmes. Sponsored candidates do not require GATE qualification. Several attractive Fellowships from Industries/DAE are also available. Guidelines for sponsored and part-time candidates are available in the Information Brochure.

RESERVATION: Reservations will be 15% for SC and 7.5% for ST for the year 2008-2009. Also up to 3% reservation shall apply as per Government of India rules for persons with disability (PD).

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
EDUCATION
Teachers who are working at any levels in schools recognized by the Tamil Nadu Government or affiliated to the Central Board or Secondary Education or in the SCERT, DIET or other approved Research Institutions with a Master's Degree in Education of the Annamalai University or by any other Universities recognized as equivalent with a minimum of three years experience with M.Ed. Degree (with a minimum of 55%) or persons working as inspecting Officers in the Education Department of the Tamil Nadu Government are also eligible for admission to the programme.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Teachers who are working Higher Secondary Schools as Grade-I Physical Director or Physical Director in College/ University, Lectures, Assistant Physical Training Instructors/ Assistant Sports Officers/ Sports Officer in a University with a minimum of 3 years experience. They should have secured 55% of marks in the Master's degree in Physical Education.

ELIGIBILITY:
A bachelor degree in any subject of the University of Calicut or that of any other University recognized by the University of Calicut with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (including languages). (OBC (45%) and SC/ST students (pass only) are allowed relaxation as per rules). Candidates awaiting their degree results may also apply. But they should produce their original degree mark lists before the last date for the registration of their first semester MBA examinations. However, original Plus Two/PDC mark list should be produce for verification at the time of Personal Interview and Group Discussions.

SELECTION
Selection is based on Plus Two/PDC marks and the scores obtained by the candidates in the entrance test (to be held during May 2008 at Calicut, Trichur, Ernakulam, Trivandrum and Kannur), Group discussion and Personal Interview. The University may cancel any of these entrance test centers if enough candidates do not opt for that center for the test.

HOW TO APPLY
The application can be had form the Head, DCMS, University of Calicut, Malappuram 673635 or from the Schools of Management Studies mentioned above on paying a fee of Rs.500/- . For applications by post, please write to the Head of the Department along with a self addressed, Rs.15 stamped envelope (26 cm x 15cm) with a crossed demand draft for Rs.500 (Rs.167/- for SC/ST students if community certificate is submitted), drawn in favour of “The Finance Officer, University of Calicut” payable at State Bank of Travancore, Calicut University cash counter at the Pareeksha Bhavan.

The application form can be downloaded form the University website www.universityofcalicut.info. If the form is downloaded from the site, DD/ chalan for the fee stated above should accompany such filled up applications.

The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) at S.A.S Nagar (Mohali) has been created as Centre of Excellence in imparting higher education, research and development in pharmaceutical sciences and is the first Institute of its kind in country. The Institute was declared as an Institute of National Importance by Government of India through an Act of Parliament, notified on 26th June 1998. Percentage of marks or CGPA shall be calculated taking the aggregate scored by the candidate in all years or as per the norms of the concerned university/Institute. A limited number of seats are available for officially sponsored candidates from the Govt. Department /P.S.U./R&D organisation with minimum of 2 years experience. Valid GATE/NET score is essential qualification for all disciplines (including M.B.A.) except for the following category of candidates:- (i) Candidates holding B.V.Sc. /M.B.B.S./B.A.M.S. degree; (ii) Foreign nationals; (iii) NRI/NRI Sponsored candidates (in case of M.B.A (Pharm.); (iv) Sponsored candidates from Public/Private Sector undertakings, Govt. 2.Candidates appearing for final qualifying examinations can also apply but they must produce final result on the day of Counselling/Interview/GD failing which their candidature shall be rejected.
3.Information Brochure cum Application form can be obtained in person or by post from the office of the Organizing Chairperson, NIPER-JEE 2008 on submission of non refundable Bank Draft of Rs. 1000/-(Rs.500/- for SC/ST) payable at S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali)/Chandigarh in favour of “NIPER-JEE 2008” along with two duly typed self-addressed Slips (10 cms X 6 cms). Indian nationals residing abroad and foreign nationals have to remit US$100 by bank draft payable to “NIPER-JEE 2008”. Payment by cheque/postal order will not be accepted. Candidates desirous of obtaining information brochure by post should clearly mention the name of the programme in the application and on the top of the envelope carrying the request letter.
4.The candidates will have to make their own arrangement for travel and boarding for attending test/GD/Interview/Counselling.
5.Filled in applications should be sent to Organising Chairperson, NIPER-JEE 2008, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, (NIPER), Sector 67, S.A.S.Nagar (Mohali), Punjab, 160062, so as to reach him on or before 28th April 2008. A common written test for all disciplines of the Masters programme will be held on Sunday, the 8th June, 2008 at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna and Pune. The centres may be altered if sufficient number of candidates do not register for a particular centre.
