GENERAL INFORMATION
1.For all courses, where MBBS/BDS is an eligible requirement, the candidate who have made more than one attempt (i.e. have more than one failure, compartment or reappear) during their MBBS / BDS career, are not eligible. For DM/M.Ch., courses, the candidates who have made mroe than one attempt in MBBS/MD/MS career are not eligible. However, those belonging to Sch. Caste/Tribes with upto two attempts in their MBBS/BDS career will be eligible for MD/MS, and MDS, House Job in Oral Health Sciences.

2.The candidates completing internship after 30.6.2008 are not eligible for course No. 1, 2 and 3.

3.The number of seats wherever indicated are provisional and may increase/decrease without any prior notice.

4.The course at Sr. No. 6 to 18 are only for Sponsored / Deputed Candidates.

5.A candidate applying for more than one subject/course except category – 1 & 2 is required to submit separate application complete in all respect for reach subject / course.

6.The candidates may apply in the form downloaded (for Sr. No. 1 to 4) at http://pgimer.nic.in together with requisite fee by Demand Draft in the name of Director, PGI. The prescribed application forms alongwith prospectuses (Brochure of Information) are also available from the office of the undersigned either personally on payment of Rs. 500/- for general category and Rs. 400/- for SC/ST at the counter (Kairon Block, Room No. 306) from 10.30 AM to 12.30 PM. And from 2.30 PM to 3.30 PM on all working days except Saturdays (On Saturdays, forms will be available from 10.30 AM to 12.00 Noon) or by post for which the request must be accompanied with a self addressed thick envelope of size 24x15 cm bearing postage stamps of Rs. 30/- and Bank Draft preferable form any SBI branch payable at SBI Medical Institute Branch (Code No. 1524), Chandigarh for General Rs. 500/- and for SC/ST Rs. 400/- (indicating category i.e. General or SC/ST) drawn in faovur of the director, PGI, Chandigarh. However, prospectus of Rdm/m.Ch. will be available for Rs. 500/- only as there is no reservation for the same.

However, mid-career professionals, gradates (with a minimum of 2 years’ work experience in the health care sector after graduation) are exempted form MAT and are eligible for direct admission through group discussion and interview. MASCOM (Manorama School of Communication) invites applications for its seventh one-year Postgraduate Diploma Course in Print Journalism. Requests for the Prospectus and Application Form should be accompanied by a Demand Draft of Rs.500/- in favour of MASCOM, payable at Kottayam, Kerala. The deadline for receiving completed application is April 25, 2008. The Course will begin in July 2008, and end in May 2009.

Candidates with a bachelor's degree in any discipline and those awaiting degree results may apply. Selection is based on an entrance examination to be held at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, various centres in Kerala and in Dubai (UAE) on May 10, 2008, and an interview at MASCOM in Kottayam at the end of June 2008.

MASCOM, launched on August 17, 2002, by the 120-year-old Malayala Manorama group, is an acknowledged center of excellence for Journalism training in India. The course introduces students to state-of-the-art journalism through meticulously designed training modules, which ensure the students receive a well-rounded education in Journalism and Current Events.

During the course the students will dissect and analyse news, bring out about 25 issues of their weekly lab newspaper, undertake overnight news-gathering field-trips and interview leading academic, political and media personalities. They will acquire advanced skills in reporting, editing, speedwriting and computer software. They are also exposed to the state-of-the-art technology and communication systems employed at Malayala Manorama. The students are provided with personal computers with 24-hour dedicated Internet connectivity and a telephone with STD facility for newsgathering.

MASCOM’s in-house instructions, both Indian and from abroad, are experienced journalist-teachers who have got national and international exposure. Assisting the core faculty is a panel of acknowledged experts in their chosen fields.

All MASCOM graduates are working in various capacities in national and regional media houses across the country.

Applications are to be filled online only. The Application processing fee is Rs.1000/- and can be paid by Demand Draft / Cheque payable at par at Mumbai favouring 'S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research'. The same should be sent to the Admissions Coordinator.

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates need to fulfill four years of graduate education (a total of 16 years of formal education) in any one of the following forms:-

Three year Bachelors degree with Maths as a subject/major plus a one year diploma/certificate

Fee Structure
Virginia Tech Component (USD) - $9500. This is payable in two equal instalments of $4750 each.

SPJIMR Component (INR) - Rs. 3,00,000. This is payable in two equal instalments of Rs. 1,50,000 each.

Financing
SPJIMR has made arrangements for educational loan facilities for PGP(SM)-MIT participants with State Bank of India. They have indicated that if the loan is availed from their Andheri Branch in Mumbai, the tentative interest rate will be 10% p.a. up to the loan amount of Rs. 4 lacs and 10.25% thereafter. The participants can send the form along with the required papers to SBI's Andheri Branch. The papers will be processed by them and if loan is approved, the student will have to come personally to the branch to sign papers to get the disbursement.

There is however, no restriction on availing loans from any other bank depending on the convenience of the student.
