Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur, India has been established by an Act of the Govt. of Rajasthan under section 2f of UGC Act 1956. Sir Padampat Singhania University has a sprawling campus of about 100 acres which is located at a distance of 30 kms from Udaipur city and about 10 Km from the Udaipur airport on the National Highway 76 towards Chittorgarh. The University aims to impart quality education through a number of educational programmes. The fully residential campus is ecologically friendly and conducive for academic learning and comfortable living.


Five Year International Bachelor- Masters Degree Programme:
This international bachelor- masters degree programme will be spread over five years. Out of the total five years for integrated bachelor-master degrees, which is recognized by both AIT and SPSU, some of the masters courses will be offered from the third-fourth years of studies as electives or as agreed by both parties and will be evaluated by AIT faculties. Thus students will be exposed to advanced leading to master’s degree during bachelor study itself. Students will spend first four years at SPSU and the fifth year at AIT. Other relevant features of the programme are given below :

Both SPSU and AIT will seek for quality education offering for this unique international unified bachelor-masters degree programme. The curriculum for this unified bachelor and masters degrees will be prepared by faculties in both institutes. SPSU will provide academic buildings, lab and student accommodation facilities of to this exclusive group of students. AIT will provide similar facilities to SPSU students during continuation of masters at AIT. Students after completion of bachelor at SPSU need to meet AIT’s admission criteria for continuing masters studies at AIT.
The indicated fee to be charged by AIT during the fifth year includes only tuition and registration. Students will bear the cost of accommodation, food and other living expenses separately. AIT will make arrangements for accommodating students in this unified bachelor-masters degree programme. Similarly, the indicatred fees to be charged by SPSU during the first four years includes only tuition fees. Students will have to bear the hostel fees seperately.
Students from SPSU continuing masters studies will be eligible to compete for AIT scholarships/fellowships.
AIT will provide all possible information available for the placement of graduating students through career development center. SPSU will provide required assistance to students who are seeking bank loans for studies in this unified bachelor-masters programme.

CURRICULUM:
The medium of instruction/ examination in the programmes at all levels is English. Each academic programme is so designed as to provide enough flexibility in the choice of courses that the students would like to take. Besides compulsory (core) subjects for each discipline, the students will have option to choose courses of their own interest from the selective/optional courses. In framing the courses care has been taken to see that they are not burdened with formal lectures only. There is adequate provision for seminars, tutorials, case studies, guided field work, group discussions etc. to make learning a unique experience.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION:
Candidates should have passed 10+2 science or equivalent examination from a recognized board, securing 60% marks in aggregate of PCM/PCB group. Candidate appearing for the 10+2 examination in 2008 are also eligible to apply. PCM candidates are eligible for all branches. PCB candidates are eligible only for Biotechnology.
Be born on or after June 30th 1986.
Appear in AIEEE/AIPMT 2008 examination conducted by CBSE or in AIEEA 2008 examination conducted by ICAR.

HOW TO APPLY:
Application for admission to the B.Tech degree programme is to be made in the prescribed form. The form complete in all respects should reach the Registrar on or before the specified date. Application form incomplete in any respect will be rejected. Application form and information bulletin can be downloaded from our website www.spsu.ac.in or obtained from the Registrar, SPSU, Bhatewar, Udaipur 313601. Duly filled application should be submitted along with a DD for Rs.600/- in favour of ‘Sir Padampat Singhania University’ payable at Udaipur.


DOCUMENTS TO BE ENCLOSED ALONG WITH FORM:
Copy of the admit card of AIEEE/ AIPMT/ AIEA 2008 information.
Demand draft/ pay order for Rs 600/- (Rupees six hundred only) in favour of ‘Sir Padampat Singhania University’, payable at Udaipur.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Selection will be based on AIEEE rank for all branches. For Biotechnology AIPMT/AIEEA rank will also be applicable.
Candidate seeking admission to the B.Tech degree programme shall be required to qualify in the AIEEE/AIPMT examination conducted by CBSE or AIEEA examination conducted by ICAR.
Short listed candidates, according to merit in the Entrance Examinations indicated above and shall be placed on the University website www.spsu.ac.in and on the Notice Board of the University.
Short listed candidates shall be called for Counselling and admission to be held at the University campus from June 23rd, 2008.
Selected candidates shall be required to be present in person for Counselling and shall be required to get admitted by paying the required fee as per schedule.
Reservation of seats for SC/ST candidates shall be as per State Govt. norms.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE:

Eligibility
The minimum requirement for admission to the programme is a 3-years Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in any discipline from a recognized Indian or foreign University with a minimum of 50% marks. Candidates appearing for final year Bachelor's degree examinations (or an equivalent examination) can also apply, provided they complete all degree requirements by September 30, 2008 .

Procurement of Prospectus and Application Form
Candidates who wish to apply for admission to Calcutta Business School can follow any of the following two procedures for obtaining the Prospectus and Application Form:

Procedure 1:
A candidate can obtain the Prospectus by courier/speed post by sending Demand Draft of Rs.350/- in favour of ‘Calcutta Business School' payable at Kolkata to the Admissions Coordinator, Calcutta Business School, 11, Lord Sinha Road, Kolkata 700 071 or by paying Rs.300/- in cash at the above-mentioned address. Institute will send the Prospectus by courier/Speed Post on receipt of the request.

Next, the candidate can obtain the Application Form by courier/speed post by sending Demand Draft of Rs.1,050/- in favour of ‘Calcutta Business School' payable at Kolkata to the Admissions Coordinator, Calcutta Business School, 11, Lord Sinha Road, Kolkata 700 071 or by paying Rs.1,000/- in cash at the above-mentioned address. The candidate should mention the name of the candidate and the Serial number of the Prospectus while making the request for buying the Application Form. Procedure 2:

The Prospectus and Application Form will be issued in the name of the applicant who wishes to apply. The form is not transferable. CBS will not be responsible for the delay in receipt of the Prospectus/Application Form sent by courier / speed post. The fee for Prospectus and Application Form shall not be refunded under any circumstances.

For NRI/ International candidates, the cost of Prospectus and Application Form together is US$ 60.

Sending Completed Application Form
Candidates are required to send the completed Application Form along with valid CAT or GMAT score and other relevant information to the Admissions Coordinator, Calcutta Business School, 11, Lord Sinha Road, Kolkata 700 071 so as to reach CBS by April 30, 2008. Selection Procedure
Candidates will be shortlisted for Group Discussion and Personal Interview based on their academic record. Shortlisted candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview in Kolkata. The final selection will be based on candidate's past academic record, overall performance in the Group Discussion and Personal Interview, and work experience.

The Entrance Tests for admission to First Year of LL.B. (Three Year Course) and LL.M. for the year 2008-2009 will be held in Delhi.

LL.B.: Date of Entrance Test: Sunday, 15th June, 2008
Eligibility: Graduate/ Post-Graduate Degree with 50% marks for General candidates.

Relaxation of upto 5% marks for Physically Handicapped (PH); 45% marks for windows/ wards of Defence personnel (CW) category; and degree with pass marks for SC/ST candidates.

LL.M.: Date of Entrance Test: Sunday, 22nd June, 2008
Eligibility: LL.B. Degree (3 year/ 5 year course) with 50% marks for General candidates. Relaxation for upto 5% marks for PH; and 45% marks for SC/ST/CW candidates.


NOTE:
1. Candidates awaiting results of the qualifying degree examination are eligible to appear in the Entrance Test but admission will depend on minimum eligibility prescribed above.

1. Sugar Technology PG Diploma Course
Duration: 2½ years
Eligibility: B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics OR B.E. Chemical/ Agricultural Engineering.

2. Sugar Instrumentation Technology PG Diploma Course
Duration: 1½ years
Eligibility: B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics OR Electronics OR B.E. Electrical/ Electronics/ Agricultural Engineering.

3. Industrial Fermentation & Alcohol Technology PG Diploma Course
Duration: 1½ years

Eligibility: B.Sc. [Bio Group] or Diploma in Sugar Technology or Diploma in Sugar Manufacture or Diploma in Chemical Engineering from any recognized University/ Board. And minimum 5 years experience in sugar factory is essential.

8. Sugar Boiling Certificate Course
Duration: ½ year
Eligibility: S.S.C. with minimum 2 years Experience in sugar factory.

9. Juice Supervision Certificate Course
Duration: ½ year
Eligibility: S.S.C. with minimum 2 years Experience in Sugar Factory.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

1. The prescribed application form along with the Prospectus may be obtained from the office of the Registrar, on payment of Rs.200/- in cash at the cash counter of Accounts Branch in person or on payment of Rs.200/- by Bank Demand Draft in favor of Vasantdada Sugar Institute and payable at Pune. IPO’s will not be accepted. Applications completed in all respects along-with the nomination form (wherever applicable) and attested copies of certificates and processing fees of Rs.200/-, payable by Demand Draft favoring Vasantdada Sugar Institute & payable at Pune should reach Institutes office on or before 21st May 2008.

2. Candidates should fill in the application form carefully and completely in English. Any deliberate attempt to furnish false information will amount to cancellation of admission at any stage.

3. The candidates should ensure that all the enclosures are clear and readable and are properly attached to the application form..

4. No additional documents other than those attached to the original application will be accepted after the last date prescribed for submission of application.

5. Copies of certificates, marks lists, etc. attached to the application form should be attested by the Principal/Professor of the College/Gazetted Officer/Managing Director of Sugar Factory/Distillery.

6. The candidate who is sponsored /nominated by a Sugar Factory /Distillery should attach the prescribed nomination form duly filled in and signed by the competent authority of respective sugar factory (Chairman/ Managing Director/ General Manager along-with the seal).

7. A passport size photograph should be affixed on top of the prescribed application form at the space provided.

8. 20% of the seats are reserved for eligible candidates from scheduled caste/scheduled tribes.

10. Applications received late and incomplete will not be considered under any circumstances.

11. Candidates who have appeared for Diploma/Degree examination can also apply. However, the admission is subject to the production of Diploma/Degree passing Certificate/ Mark lists.

12. Applications of candidates who have passed degree examination from the Universities recognized by University Grants Commission, New Delhi only will be considered
